Everytime he comes back, the spoilers always say he's come back 'old school', 'with his surfer gimmick' or whatever, but all it ever is, is Sting with an extra colour added to his attire.
I'd love to see proper, 80's surfer Sting return! If he doesn't wanna cut his hair, or even dye it, that's fine, but otherwise he should wear his old attires with more different colours on his face other than black and white and occasionally a dab of red. |

Didn't WWE just have an episode of Smackdown where they handed a guy the world title only for the champ to regain it minutes later, and then follow that up with Raw where the tag titles changed hands twice in a matters of minutes too?
But yeah none of that matters because LOL TNA SUX! They don't know what they're doing!!!! Fucking muties. |

TNA is a mess, it's a pain to watch. I tried watching RVD/Angle/Hardy but I cared so little. Everything about their production makes the connection to the audience harder to make. The way they style their matches is offensive to the mind. WWE has really grown into more realistic matches for the most part, with moves that matter. TNA has neck bump after chair shot after blade job after flip flop and nobody sells its for more than a moment... it's like an old Smackdown game for playstation. No, even worse. It's like the Impact video game which I bought for 6 dollars and played for about 20 minutes before never seeing it again.

And to the topic, my eyes rolled when I saw this and immediately I stopped caring about Sting again. Like a lot have said, Sting in WWE was interesting and awesome, Sting in TNA is predictable and boring. As soon as I read about the video, then the spoilers of Sting beating Hardy I rolled my eyes and stopped caring about Sting again. And I am sure if there was any wonder lust from McMahon to Sting, it's over. Have a good run in TNA Sting, you really made a great choice.

Sting has done everything in wrestling, bar go to WWE. Thats why the whole appeal was there the last few months, it wasnt fans clamouring for him to come back, it was for him to specifically go to WWE where there was a bunch of fresh possibilities for him.
Who honestly gives a shit about Sting in TNA. |

Sting is the fourth oldest world champion ever, and less than 3 years shy of the record (Verne Gagne at 54).
Old champion is old. |

He can still go though.
Other than the stupid over-hype, don't see anything wrong with this at all. One of the better things TNA has done recently (not really a glowing endorsement I know, but still). |

I can see why they did it, the IWC has been masturbating over the thought of Sting in WWE so they give him the belt and say "Hey, you wanted to see Sting? He's right here". On the other hand, coupling it with the 3.3.11 knockoff promo just shows that TNA pay way too much attention to what WWE is doing instead of trying to provide a true alternative.
It's not a bad move, but it's not the solution to all (or any) of TNA's problems either and it's not something that makes me want to watch. |

Promo would have been better if it showed a cabin and Sting walks out and says "You were expecting someone else?"

Im more shocked they actually took advantage of the Sting hype and did something with him. Hes a credible champion there so i dont see what the problem is.

Unless I'm mistaken, TNA is and has been a joke forever now. So even when they do something right (I'm not say this is or isn't) that you can't help but think what a bunch of fucktards. Plus they still have the same gaggle of jackasses running shit. So this will most likely turn out to be nothing and a knee jerk booking decision that will be made for not by another knee jerk booking decision.

Smart move by TNA.
Dumb move by Sting. As others have pointed out who honestly wants to see Sting in TNA? I can understand him wanting to be loyal to 'the other company' again but staying in TNA makes Sting a hypocrite as WWE is much cleaner these days in terms of the product, the pg rating, even the wrestlers who are under contract to WWE. TNA is becoming what WCW became shortly before going out of business a retirement home or clinic for aging past it wrestlers who are either on their last run or last legs see Hogan and Flair. The writing of the shows is awful, makes little sense and has little impact. It's mostly shock TV nothing more but it's done in a way that gives the shock TV storylines no impact or realism. When Nash and Sting did the shoot interview on live tv against Immortal I really thought it was from the heart. Nash knew Immortal would be much like NWO was in WCW and not in a good way I daresay that was a big reason for him wanting out of TNA. His comments seemed to indicate he didn't want to be a part of it that's for sure. Nash wanted one last run in the big time, he referred to the WWE as playing for the Yankees but it seems Sting is happy playing in the minor leagues. Sting has had numerous opportunities to sign with WWE and sell his likeness in WWE games, new DVD sets, Legends deal, big money match on the grandest stage of them all. Why go over old ground when you can break new ground and gain new fans? Why go through the motions week in and week out when you could be building a legacy? I just don't get it personally his window of opportunity has probably gone now and it's a great shame as I really believe Sting would have done great things in the WWE. |

Also Sting used to say a reason he never went to WWE was because of their subject matter and storylines. But sure, someone nearly being murdered with a 2x4 with nails is totally cool with the Christian crowd.
I would post more instances but TNA sucks and it all runs together like a bad morning shit. |

I think the people who are saying he made the wrong choice at least have a point. Like I've said, I haven't heard that Sting met with WWE this year. However, Sting could have EASILY used this as a bargaining chip in terms of his worth in WWE. He was hotter and worth more to the WWE than he has been since the Invasion. This leads me to believe there were three possibilities here.
1. Sting never tried to contact WWE and/or WWE never tried to contact Sting. 2. They met, and they couldn't come to terms, whether on WWE's or Sting's side. 3. Sting is sticking to his beliefs in terms of what WWE did would do to him and honestly has no desire to go to WWE in any kind of character role. I think it's obvious that Sting wants to continue wrestling on and off, and I honestly think that, if he truly wants to wrestle, TNA is his best choice. Outside of a match with The Undertaker, there's really nothing that Sting can bring to the table in WWE in terms of an on-air role that they couldn't get somewhere else. I've said it before, I would be shocked if Sting doesn't accept a Hall of Fame induction down the line, and I could even see him signing a legends deal for merchandise and a DVD, but I wouldn't be shocked if he never works for WWE in any kind of on-air character role. |

If I were Sting... I'd want to go to WWE any time BUT Mania. Why go there for Mania just to have your first match be a losing effort to The Undertaker?

Nah, I agree with Tazz Dan. Really does seem like 90% of posters here act too cool for school. Swear to god, CSL, Juan, and Lara Emily are the only people who have any sense of reason in the wrestling forum.
Also, yeah, sting is an idiot for going back to company that treats him like gold, and gaurantees him a light travel schedule. What a fucking moroon. |

You all are saying sting made the wrong choice and I would agree I was like the rest of you praying 2-21-11 was Stinger . But look at it this way sting was making I believe 500 thousand a year in tna. Which i believe locked him into 7 ppv matches and 20 impact apperances . The dude has to work 27 days in a year and makes 500 thousand . Can you blame him ? Plus this was his old contract who says this new one isnt better

TNA Stinks. They wish they could be WWE, but they never stood a chance. All their talent is shitty and they have no direction.
I know I just said what everyone is thinking. I don't care. I hate TNA. |
