The ECW title was NOT considered a world title. If it was, they'd be citing guys like Zeke and Christian as former world champions. This is not the case.

Depends on the promotion its in. The TNA title is a world title because, as I said, it's the highest title in the company. And really, the likes of Van Dam and Sting holding it puts it up against other world titles anyway.

ECW title wasn't recognized as a major championship (at least not by the time Christian won it), whereas the TNA title is the major championship of the promotion.

Just because you see it as a mid-level title doesn't mean it actually is.

If the ECW title was considered a World title, Chavo Guerrero wouldn't have competed in the Royal Rumble while he was champion. And every Rumble winner would have been able to choose to face that champion (pretty sure Lashley was the final one included).

I don't consider the ECW Championship to be up there with the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship or even the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. But at the same time, I refuse to consider it to be a belt at the Intercontinental title level or the TNA World title level. It is somewhat in between

Let me see if I understand: You consider the ECW title a World Championship when it was the main title of a brand under the WWE banner (and not recognized as a major belt during this time, mind you).

But the TNA World Championship, as the major title of a promotion, is on the same level as a midcard title in another promotion.
