With that said, the chances of me buying one are slim to none.

Something about the delivery was off... They had great things, but no energy in their voice.

Why was EA the one to allude to an advanced online network? Wouldn't Nintendo wanna pimp that?

Very little info on the console itself...

Need to experience this thing, and see what developers have in mind.

No date or price was given but given what games are being released for it (Arkham City, Darksiders etc) I'd think it wouldn't be too far away.

Would have liked to see the new console and not just the controller. I wasn't sure if it was even a new console at first or just another Wii controller.

Yeah, dunno. Feels like Nintendo should've waited and the Wii U (terrible) just isn't quite ready yet. It was more HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THE CONTROLLER instead of the main features of the console itself. Rather curious about their online set up and all we got was confirmation it exists. OK. I mean it's pretty awesome and all, but when my stream was fucking up (during the reveal, of all times) I thought Wii U was just a new control peripheral or the Wii. And honestly it seems as if they just could've gone that route. But hey, whatever, we don't know everything yet.

Not the usual flash and excitement of a typical console reveal.

How irrationally high were your expectations for this? This seemed pretty awesome to me.

And what features would you want to know about the console? Tech specs? The new controller seems like the most important new feature.

Nintendo usually has a "round table" the day after their conference. This is when they announced a new Zelda game (Skyward Sword) with that single peice of artwork and some other stuff like Pikmin 3 last year. This year, I've read they have 2 or 3 "round tables" planned. So we could get more details on WiiU and games then.

Well when they say they're going to reveal Project Cafe, I expect a total reveal. If they'd have said it was gonna be a reveal of just a part of it or just the control, I'd have tempered my expectations accordingly.

The bigger news is Luigi's Mansion is going to use the 3D stuff that was tested during the Gamecube and the fact of Smash Bros now has a handheld version when Nintendo likes to keep certain series/games exclusive to either their console or handheld. Not surprised at Tecmo bringing in Ninja Gaiden for the Wii U because their deal with Metroid Other M also included future non-Nintendo projects.

IIRC, most of the demos last year were just the demos shown on stage with extra commentary.
