I think it's silly that anyone would whinge about someone like Chavo being underused, but bury this thing with Gail because she has a vagina.
Both are talented wrestlers who feel underutilized and sick of being embarassed on national television. As far as making people care about women's wrestling, TNA already proved that it can work. It was one of the few things they got right on a consistant basis and one of the hottest feuds in TNA history being Kong/Kim proved that. Of course, some of the boys complained about losing their spotlight to women, so that, the arrival of Hogan (and thus, talentless fucks like the Nasty Boys and that Love Sponge guy), and TNA being TNA ruined that. Also, if the popular idea in "big leauge" wrestling is that women don't draw unless they're sex symbols, why bother hiring the Jazzes, Lunas, Phoenixes, Natties, Taminas* of the world when they're content to push K2, Eve, and the Bellas for everything? I mean, Neidhart and Snuka may have familial inclinations for jobs, but what about everyone else? Shell out the cash for Lacey Von Erich. Hire nothing but almost-porn stars. They're not letting the girls with cred ply their trade time to do so anyhow, so why bother? I guess what I mean here is this: if "women don't draw", why bother with "hiring them so nobody else has them"? The latter countermands the former. *Not really saying I personally find any of these women unattractive. It works for sake of argument. Using commons sense, you know why I listed them, so I don't need to get gripes from someone like BPF. I make no secret about one of the few wrestling women I'm visually averse to is Angelina Love. |
