And there's the problem.

The presumption that virtually everybpdy here knows little to nothing pre-AE simply isn't true.

We all appreciate a knowledgable fan, we don't appreciate a guy that "talks down to us" or goes out of their way to "rub their knowledge in our faces".

The guy you're defending can't just talk about that Hogan v Andre match, he has to go out of his way to say Hogan v Andre from WrestleMania 3 held at the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan on March 29th 1987 infront of some 93, 173 fans.

We all know that stuff. We all realise that it's superfluous to the point he is trying to make and therefore comes across simply as a way to "show off" this knowledge.

In all honesty I think people find him amusing more than anything.
