192kbps MP3 because I'm not an audiophile and can't tell any jump up in quality from that.

Note, I did say most. Because I know some douchebag is going to post "but I can tell the difference in a double blind study on standard headphones!" Most of my Mp3 collection is 192, though, so I can't really talk. It's less because I can hear a clear clarity difference and more because I'm using software that jumps from 128 to 192, and I can hear the difference there. Lossless is kind of a waste, though. I know there are some people who swear they can hear the difference between lossless and lossy, but far as I'm concerned, they're as legit as psychics. Anyway, as it is my collection is over 200 GB. Don't know why I'd make it bigger, especially since I mostly listen to them on headphones in noisy environments. And anyone who has an iProduct and feels the need for high quality files should probably get their meds adjusted. |
