Not really. Lower player limits means no 'massive' battles. Many maps, especially in the armored kill expansion, are geared toward large player counts. Most any vehicle map benefits from large player counts. Also, flying vehicles seem impossible to properly use with a controller (It seems like a controller would work great, but having tried one multiple times, I can safely say it is damn near impossible and does not feel fluid at all)

Also, the graphics and effects are just incredible on PC. Really couldn't see this game competing with the CoD series on consoles. CoD makes better use of the hardware where as BF3 really seems to be held back by the hardware. BF3 on PC however blows it out of the water.
