Honestly I think he was pissed that Weidman almost had him in the first round. He was never in trouble with Griffin/Bonnar/Maia. So he wanted to do his thing to the max. He wasn't wanting to get knocked out if that's what you're insinuating.

And a lot of fighters after an emotional loss say irrational things. Why do you believe he won't fight for the title? You can bet your ass the rematch is in Jersey superbowl weekend.

I don't think Silva wanted to get knocked out or even threw the fight. I believe he was just a victim of his own hubris. Just my own speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if Anderson would actually prefer random showcase fights over defending the MW title though.

Doesn't Fox have the Super Bowl this year? A Weidman/Silva remtatch plus Frankie Edgar as co-main in Jersey would be bananas.
