You misinterpreted my post, I see. I wasn’t saying there is/was anything terrible about any of his runs as a face, just simply that I believe the higher-ups within the hierarchy of WWE missed some key chances to elevate him to main event status, particularly in 2005 when he was drafted to SD!

Through no fault of his own, his character at that time was still treated as second-rate and I don’t recall him ever recieving a shot at the WWE title or hardly any other chance to become the main-eventer that fans back then would’ve in all likelihood supported big time for a huge title push and run.

Obviously, nobody can fault the guy for jumping over to TNA for a few years when he’s treated that way. It was great when he returned and held the ECW title for a while, but after that he held the WHC for a grand total of maybe a week over two runs. He was probably lured back by WWE with grand promises of multiple WWE title shots and WWE Championship reigns that never came to fruition. I don’t blame him one bit for being frustrated, disappointed and/or fed up with WWE management.
