- Calls out Taker to solidify himself as the "new face of fear"
- Loses to Taker - Doesn't even mention it, but just goes right back to mysterious promos calling himself the new face of fear. |

Just imagine if the Daniel Bryan match at the Royal Rumble a couple years ago was designed not to get Bray over for a match with Cena... but to get Bray over... period. WWE has a knack lately for only pushing guys for their next feud. A "lower level" example would be R-Truth. He jobs constantly. Then they wanna put him in a big match and lo and behold... HE PICKS UP A WIN OR TWO! That's enough in WWE's mind to build him up as a threat in the upcoming multi-man match. Then he goes right back to jobber status. Rinse. Repeat.
Nothing is designed to get anyone over in the long run. Bray's match with Daniel Bryan should have been the start of something. Scary monster cult leader just cleanly took down your hero. Now people should start fearing him. For good. It should have been the beginning of a consistent booking pattern and not just a way to build him up for one single match in a month or two. That's not how you build stars. |
