i found this to be true during their run, but an interesting twist is post split beefcake got a big push and valentine was stuck with dino bravo for a minute. then bravo got a push and valentine was given HTM.

makes me wonder was valentine used a mentor to get guys ready for a singles run or did they think he was only capable in a tag team role and was he not carrying his weight ?

Yes he was. Beefcake was very green at that point. Plus Beefcake was Hogan's lackey so he was going to get a push.

To be fair, Valentine had been around pretty much since the late 70's. He was on borrowed time to begin with and had gotten real stale. Lol not the best use of him though.
