I don't argue. I just post my opinion, which happens to draw a lot of attention. I back up my opinion. Maybe that is arguing. My bad if it is. Hope everyone still likes me .

Riddle me this: If you don't argue, then why the hell does the text in your avatar read "Arguments from The CyNick"?!

Of course.
We're making ARGUMENTS using facts, data, logic and reasoning. I.e., "The QUALITY of the writing/product is down, as shown by the decrease in television ratings, a decrease in live attendance and revenues, and a disappointing and substantially lower than expected television licensing revenue deal." You're ARGUING using your emotions, opinions, suppositions, etc. I.e., "The QUALITY of the writing/product is fine because I'm enjoying it, plus revenues overall should increase to record levels this year due to the quality of the product but not as a result of the company expanding into more revenue streams than ever before the last few years." However, in your spin you managed to miss some points. WWE tries to deliver ratings in order to raise TV rights fees. They may not have got as much as they wanted (as Mr Burns said I would trade it all away for a little more), but their TV rights fees have never been higher. Context is always important. Ratings are down for most of TV, this is a trend that will not likely reverse, its the nature of changing habits of viewers. WWE is most weeks the 2nd or 3rd most viewed things on cable on Monday nights, one of the highest rated things on social media, WWE has more Network subs than they did this time last year, and best of all OVERALL REVENUES ARE UP! They could actually have their BIGGEST REVENUE GENERATING YEAR OF ALL TIME. Yes, this is partly due to additional revenue streams, but its also because they turned a dying revenue stream (PPV) and turned it into a rapidly growing revenue stream (VOD). Some would call that smart business moves, you call it, what? Failure. Cool. None of that is emotion BTW. |
