"Where are all the new stars?? WWE sucks."
"Why are they pushing these noobs?? WWE sucks." "50/50 booking sucks. I liked it back in the day where someone would go on a winning streak and look unstoppable. WWE sucks." "What's with these squash matches?? WWE sucks." |

How is main eventing a Raw (yeah, it's not a ppv, but you have to start somewhere) and having a hell of a match to boot tokenism? They had a real match. Not bra and panties. No Lawler ogling. It was treated as a big deal. Where they go from here is anyone's guess but that's two steps forward. |

There's a rumour Sasha/Charlotte headlines Hell In A Cell. Guess we assume the Universal Championship isn't on the line.

I could see a hiac womens title match main eventing if the UC title match is just a regular match.
Plus, in my opinion, charlotte and sashahas been a better, hotter feud than owens vs rollins. |

Less of a risk having then headline a ppv that Raw since it does not matter if people stick around on the Network.

The match was good, but (and you can say it's kind of an unfair argument/opinion), but it was nowhere near as awesome as Trish v. Lita in the RAW main event in December 2004.
Come at me if you disagree. |

WWE fucked up having Bryan come back for that Rumble. If they held off on his return, people wouldn't have been as harsh as they were on Reigns.

Good question. Can you tell me? I'd argue that the only stars they have are Brock Lesnar, The Rock, The Undertaker, John Cena and maybe Randy Orton. You don't need me to tell you what's wrong with that list. You said it yourself -- they don't know when to strike when the iron is hot in some cases, and they don't know how to make someone instead of going back to the well. But I assume you mean fresh talent. That's a different argument entirely. Fresh talent is always needed. Fresh talent =/= new stars. You don't see too many people sitting around saying "Hmm, you know -- I used to really like wrestling but don't anymore. I think I just realized what it is: Superstars could use a bit of a change." Are you referring to new talent or green talent? Pushing talent that is green can leave them with a stank that last years -- sometimes over someone's entire career. There are some people who still thinks Chris Masters sucks based on seeing him chase the WWE Championship three years into his career. Of course, there are people who still thinks that Chris Masters sucks having seen a larger portion of his work too, but that's a different discussion again. Perception is power in professional wrestling. It doesn't matter if you're an amazing technician if people don't buy you in a fight. It doesn't matter if you're a legitimately tough if people snooze through your matches. If people see you as shitty, you will be seen as shitty, even if you aren't. Quote:
I like squash matches, personally. Are people complaining about these? I could only assume that they feel like there's no progression. The opponents don't look progressively better, we aren't learning more about the character, what they can do in the ring or what their motivations are. A lot of the squash matches WWE runs are with scrubs that pluck out of the independent scene, which is fine, but I'd actually prefer to see more squashes with established talent. One-sided matches with guys we know can go that somewhat catches us off-guard. Instead, the heel getting the squash (or the face, for that matter), will take too much from the other roster guy, and ultimately they get nothing from the win or the loss. The exaggerated squash routines they have going with Strowman and Jax are good for those personas, but I can imagine how people are growing tired of them. Jax moved onto Alicia Fox, which was a good move. Strowman has been in there with Sin Cara and now wants more competition. I'd say things are on track there. But then there's the problem of if you're actually putting the right talent in these dominant roles. Maybe Luke Harper would be better off with the Strowman push? Maybe Nia Jax isn't the monster the Women's Division needs? I'm not going to commit either way on those points, but people's emotional responses to things are a lot deeper than "Yay! A squash match! I am completely convinced of this person's talents and abilities!" and "Boo! A squash match! I only want to see real competition!". You also don't need to have one or the other. You can have programs where the guys do go back and forth, programs where one guy is "made" over another, you can have guys going on a tear, or guys that just can't get that big win. That doesn't mean that if those concepts are hollowly projected onto your television screen that you're going to feel them effective. Eg. I've wanted to see a Best of Seven Series for ages. That doesn't mean I wanted to see Sheamus vs. Cesaro seven times, it go 3-0 to 3-3 to a tie, and ultimately end in a tag team. I don't have to swallow cow because "Well, I wanted to see something vaguely like that for a while now." You don't need to like a blowjob with teeth. |

On Roman Reigns:
People saw the strings. They didn't want to cheer Reigns at the '14 Rumble, they were upset that they knew they were getting Batista vs. Orton. They saw the end game and they didn't like it. Conversely, when Reigns got the Rumble, they saw that the plan was for him to go on, beat Brock, and be the new face of the company. They saw the end game and they didn't like it. Bryan being the Rumble was the wrong call, but I can actually see their reasoning in kayfabe. They wanted the average fan to see Bryan get dumped out, be told he's not the guy, and for their faith to be placed in Roman Reigns instead. That's why they had Bryan work that great match with Reigns at Fastlane and put Reigns over. It was supposed to make us go "Well, he's better than Bryan," except people don't think like that anymore. They know it's rigged and we've had Cena jammed down our throats until he got good enough to deserve it. There's a strong desire to not cop that again. Cena might actually be Reigns' worst enemy when it comes to people accepting his push, because they see a dark cloud that will last ten years. Unfortunately for Reigns, it started before he really had that fan following built-up, and he doesn't have the merchandise sales, connection with certain demographics or ability to sustain a good rating or draw a decent house. The fans saw it too early because Vince McMahon's fingerprints were all over it. The ONLY way to get people to invest in Reigns, at this point, is to turn him heel. They should be looking at what they did with The Rock more than what they did with Cena. In the old days, Reigns would be politicking for Rollins to get the belt off Owens so that Reigns can turn heel, stab Rollins in the back and take it from him. Reigns vs. Rollins would be your RAW WrestleMania main event and we might actually have some stars generated. |

Ok I just watched it on YouTube. Yeah was just abunch of selfies so I wasn't sure of that was what was on Raw. I like the name change, Emmalina sounds more bitchy and if she is going to be a heel then getting away from the clunky Emma character is probably good. Seen a little of her as a heel in NXT. Then again she could be a face and Dana might leave Charlotte to go back with her.

Yeah, gotta agree with Trish vs. Lita being the much bigger deal. Charlotte's got personality though. Sasha's got left in NXT.

Lita barely had any personality until she fucked edge and turned heel. Trish was always came off as the generic stereotypical face diva personality.
I'm not saying sasha and charlotte are any better, but come on. There's not this big gap in personality. None of them are terribly interesting in that regard. |

Honestly feel like that's the reason Becky and Bayley have gained popularity. They aren't trying to be anything they aren't. They are unabasheddly themselves, and to a lot of people, that's refreshing.
Looking back at the history of the division, faces have predominantly been, cookie cutter, smiling waving babyface stereotypes. Heels have predominantly been stuck up bitches, or psychos. So when someone like Bayley, or Asuka or Kong comes along, its more entertaining, because it feels new. Props to sasha and charlotte for their work in the ring, but it still feels like they are playing characters rather than being those characters. |

I'm not sure if some of you are wearing jaded, rose-tinted glasses, but Sasha v. Charlotte was a MUCH better match than Trish v. Lita if we're talking about the ones that main-evented Raw alone. I remember being pretty underwhelmed with Trish v. Lita at the time. I'm a huge Trish fan. Was never a big Lita fan, outside of her being hot. And whoever said anything about botches, that was kinda her "thing".

The top girls today are better than any point in sports entertainment history.
I have never been a fan of any female sports, but credit to WWE for seeing an opening in the marketplace and filling it with female athletes that little girls can look up to. I love Charlotte. She's far and away the MVP of the division to me. I would even say outside of Reigns and Cena she's the most valuable regular preformer WWE has today. In the ring she's the best girl on the roster, and she carries herself like a superstar. Sasha is good too, and the crowd is with her right now, so it creates a great dynamic with Charlotte. It's almost a shame this feud is peaking now and not at Mania. The cool thing with Banks is you can see them planting seeds for a heel turn. I can see her coming out of the feud with Charlotte as champ and then blowing off Bayley to do the heel turn. You build to Sasha vs Bayley at Mania when Bayley gets the belt. The HIAC match will be interesting. You can't bleed, which is a good thing. I don't want to see girls bleeding for a match. I don't want to see either of them do something crazy off the cage. So they might be limited, and may suffer from massive expectations. That said I would put them on last. It's the right time, it's breast cancer month, so it would be good publicity for WWE to let two girls headline a PPV for the first time. I would also like to see them do a girls Royal Rumble in San Antonio. I would say all girls from both rosters would be involved including both champions. With the idea being that if say the SD women's champ wins the match, she would fight for the RAW women's championship title for title. I would have Charlotte win this to rebuild her after losing to Banks. Charlotte would say she wants to make history and become the first woman to win the RAW and SD women's titles, so she's challenging Becky. That leaves Becky vs Charlotte and Bayley vs Banks as the top women's matches at Mania. |

Lita's moonsault was always a pile of puke. When you compare it to Charlotte's....calling it puke is an insult to puke.
