Pritchard said Tugboat was the one originally in the spot for the "American Turncoat" gimmick that Sgt. Slaughter ended up with leading to WMVII, he was going to defect to Iraq & become Sheik Tugboat.

Which means he was initially scheduled for a run as WWF Champion.
