I'm glad to see it, but the crowd didn't really react because nobody thought the match would end on the BTB.
So many wrestlers follow the formula of hitting a signature, pin, kickout. Signature, pin, kickout, etc. And there's a misconception that those are false finishes. But they aren't. For it to be a false finish, the crowd has to actually think the move that was just hit could end the match. I'm all for having signature moves end matches more often, as it could make the ends of matches more exciting. But right now fans are conditioned to years and years of most dudes having only one real match-ender. |
