It's a shame the two world champions don't even get first mentions.

It's because WWE refuses to let wrestlers become superstars.
I remember reading a report back in 2011 or so that said Vince was gonna choose one more superstar as "his top guy" after Cena, and that would be it. At the time I assumed it was cause Vince was going to give up power after making one more mega star. Turns out, it just meant he was gonna pick one more guy to become a mega star, and after that he was going to purposely derail anybody who even starts getting close to becoming bigger than the brand. Roman is clearly the last mega star Vince wanted. It explains why every guy that has had a chance at truly getting over gets buried for no other reason then Vince doesn't want anybody to be bigger than the brand. Ryback Ambrose Braun Shinsuke Balor Ziggler Bray Wyatt Rusev Cesaro They all got to the point where they were on the brink, some of them more than once, where if WWE did nothing other than what they had been doing with them and didn't kill their momentum, they could have been at Ortons level at least. I am sure I am missing a few, but the ones that are still there are glorified mid carders at best, not because they failed, but because they were sabotaged by the booking of their characters. |
