The main event was really good. Obviously Tony Khan believes in Cole and O'Reilly a lot, they've had great pushes thus far. I've been resistant especially to Cole but last night he cut my favorite promo he's done yet and O'Reilly knocked it out of the park in two matches and a promo so he totally won me over as a main player for AEW. There were moments where he was believable to beat Mox last night.

It sounded like a decent show, I wonder if they are waiting to build a program between Punk and Wardlow somehow. It seemed like kind of a hint from what I read. I'm guessing he will win the TNT title and kind of dominate until Punk gets back and most likely becomes world champ again.

Osprey and main event was good. Didn't need everything else.

Feeling really Meh about Hardy and the Ladder Match. Convinced Khan is just trying to kill Jeff at this point. Guy was basically dead before this and now they are going to have him do a ladder match. Seems just rough.

Plus I don't want the Hardy's to win the titles on a random dynamite. Let it be at a PPV like All Out. So let the Bucks win.

Jeff Hardy hasn't been "a good look" in a very long time lol but yes as the promoter, Tony should step in for the safety of his workers but hasn't this always been a part of the wrestling business? I mean Jeff Hardy can still have a match, I just think he should know his limits and capabilities and be sure he can protect his opponent. If he wants to hurt himself, that's fine, it's his body and his decision as long as he is able to protect those he works with that trust him with their bodies not to get seriously injured.

Wardlow after being built as a monster culminating is his win against MJF, asked NOT to have a shot at the World Title because CM Phil is tough and the real champion, so the interim title is worthless, therefore he wants to go for the TNT Title instead, because that makes sense. Despite not having much of a personality, I've always liked O'reilly because the way he moves and executes manuevers just looks different from everyone else. And at the same time, he lays that shit in.

It’s some really back-to-front booking. All of the guys they’ve put into qualifiers for the All-Atlantic Championship should have been featured in the Battle Royal for what’s being presented as = to the World Championship. Wardlow’s reasoning for not being in the Battle Royal somewhat buries the eventual winner of the Interim title, they could just have stuck him in the match and had the security team cost him the win to further that storyline.

The A-A Championship is completely unnecessary and non-sensical. Guess AEW’s mammoth roster is so they can represent the 130 countries! They are the number one brand in the UK though.* The belt itself is gorgeous. Can’t be the same maker as that thing Adam Cole is carrying around.

Dude is probably the most over babyface in AEW by a country mile and theyre sticking him in a program with scorpio fucking sky.

I had felt they kind of wrote themselves into a corner. Wardlow ends his fued with mjf and comes out of it with all the momentum in the world, but you cant really book him against punk because he'd have to lose. Which you don't want to do immediately after the mjf fued.

Punk getting hurt was the perfect oppurtunity to get out of this quagmire. Wardlow wins the interim title and maintains that momentum, and then a few months down the road, punk can win the unification match. By that time wardlow will have established himself as a top guy and the loss wouldnt hurt him.

See I disagree. Yes he will more than likely do some moves in the match where he is slammed on a ladder or runs into it. But there is also going to be some points where Jeff will be doing something like Whisper in the Wind or something involving a ladder or weapon and if he's doing the move into someone with weapons being involved, I just don't think it's good for Jeff or the company. More specifically, the company. No one is convincing me that the way that Hardy has looked in the past couple of months that he is ready for a ladder match.

I think you could potentially go either way. My problem with the tnt title route is that its currently held by scorpio sky. Good hand and all but no one really gives a fuck about him. So it just seems a bit deflating to me.

Id prefer to see the rocket strapped to wardlow's back.

For being such a young company, they have to find people that they can "push to the moon". Wardlow seems to be that guy and because they would rather go with Moxley as the interim, it tells me that Punk might only be out 4-6 weeks. They have to strike while the iron is hot and letting him feud in the mid card will not work, especially with how much time they have taken to build him up.

Kyle O’Riley winning the battle royal was very disappointing. If they were going to go with someone a bit left field it should have been Hobbs. If they wanted someone believable in the main event then Darby or Andrade should’ve been given the win.

Get rid of the Owen belts - Adam Cole is horrible. The belts are too. Britt doesn’t need it.
Get rid of all the ROH belts as well as jay lethal and friends
Get rid of TBS title - they only have a handful of useful brauds. They should have just given Jade the streak to build her up, no title needed. They could be building towards Rosa vs Jade.
Get rid of the TNT title - it was so good at first. Cody, Brody, Darby and Miro built the title up well with open challenges. Sammy Guevara ruined it, Scorpio is ok but nobody cares.
Keep this new belt as the mid card title.
Don’t introduce any other belts.

I wouldn’t mind the All-Atlantic Championship if it offered something different. If it’s “only non-Americans can compete” it’s dumb. If it’s anyone can compete it’s dumb. Something like the Heritage Cup or ROH Pure Championship (but with better rules).

I’ve always liked the idea of using the Brisco 15 Championship from FCW: 15 minute iron man rules, perhaps with the flourish that if you defend it 15 times you can “cash in” for a shot at the World Title. You could tell a few stories with that. Feels a bit convoluted though.

Alternatively, you take the Heritage rules from NXT:UK and morph those a bit. 2 out of 3 Falls, you have to get a pin and a submission to win the match. This would be your “workers belt” and can be used as a bit of a “proving grounds” for talent. You want to position someone to be taken seriously, put them in the Heritage Division.

Or you just say the belt has to be defended every week…which makes it the TV Title.

I don’t want another title. With ask the ROH belts floating around it’s making them useless. The TNT title was fine. I think not hotshotting Wardlow into the main because Punk will be back in a few months is fine. Wardlow can start ripping through people and building up. But the international whatever belt is just too damn much. It’s not needed and it devalues the other titles.

All the title angst is weird to me. I would be keen to see the ROH belts disappear off AEW programming to keep belt scarcity. And the Owen belts should disappear too but I don’t mind the new belt.
