Sony also states the PS4 does feature the ability for voice recognition support when paired together with an PS Camera which is available as a separate purchase.

According to Jack Tretton, Sony is currently working on making sure there is enough PS4s available in reserve to prevent a severe post-launch shortage lasting well into this upcoming holiday period.

Hope Jackie Boy keeps his promise. I remember when Gamestop let employees grab the first 2 PS3s their store would get for themselves then #1 in line actually got #3. Then Sony announced they were gonna be short on launch and Gamestop had to give up their 2.

The PS4 is currently rumored to not allow gameplay footage to be uploaded to Youtube through the use of the Share Button nor would it allow the use of third party video capturing devices for footage.

Considering the HDCP and questionable legality of strippers, this may end up being a big deal for a lot of people. I don't know. I like looking at YouTube footage when I'm not sure about a game.

Yeah damn that kinda sucks. I didn't plan on really using the Share button myself personally but being able to see good quality gameplay feeds of certain things would definitely be nice, on the convenience of Youtube.

Sony states he current plans for PS3 backwards compatibility are for it to arrive next year although no actual date has been picked yet. Only a select number of titles would be available when its launched though.

Square Enix states those that own Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be able to upgrade from the PS3 version to the PS4 version for free. Although there is a catch that once the upgrade is done, only way to go back to the PS3 version is to buy another copy.

Update to the recent rumors involving the PS4's Share Button and game recording as Sony states it will be possible to record using the HDMI port on the PS4 although its possible this feature won't be available at launch.

Some details regarding the Upgrade program were revealed by Sony with the biggest announcement being certain games have deadlines to when upgrades can be done.

Chinese electronic manufacture Foxconn is in big trouble after it was discovered they've been using unpaid workers to help assemble PS4 consoles. Making things worse was these unpaid workers ended up being engineering student interns who were threatened with the inability to graduate as punishment by Foxconn. Some of the students claimed they also had to work overtime and midnight shifts as part of Foxconn's demands.

But according to various reports, the students were assigned to jobs that had no relation to their fields of study, including assembling and packing PS4s.

In a statement issued to Quartz, via CVG, the Chinese manufacturer acknowledged that the engineering students who were assigned to night shifts and overtime was done so in direct violation of the company’s policies.

They're not "in big trouble." This is the same "scandal" that's broke twice before about Foxconn, and you know what happens about it?

Also, this isn't unique to Sony or current gen consoles, though it's posted under PS4. There's a chance your PS3, 360 or PC falls under the same category.

When you swap a hard drive into another PS3, that PS3 wipes the data on the hard drive. The data on the hard drive is the only thing I care about saving.

Sony confirms DriveClub has been delayed and will miss the PS4 launch window.

Similar to the Xbox One, the PS4 will also require a Day 1 patch to be downloaded in order to make several features become playable.

The patch will update the firmware to version 1.5 while the actual size of the patch is around 300 MB.

The Playstation blog recently released a huge FAQ list of everything the PS4 will and will not be able to do.

Some of the things listed included mandatory installs for all disc games although they can be playable before the installing is done, won't support the ability to play music from CDs, and around 19 games will be available at launch (for North America).

Also PS4-PS3 cross-platform play is possible but its up to developers to do so.

Also doesn't play MP3s. You have to sign up to their music unlimited service if you want in game music. Also, external USB storage devices cannot be used at all, even for playing media.

Man, that MP3 bullshit is vintage Sony at their arrogant best. They'll probably change their tune at some point and it will come down with a magical firmware update, but fuck em.

Sony recently updated the Terms of Use agreement for the PS4 with the biggest being Sony now has the right to monitor and record up to all PSN messages (text and audio) at their sole discretion. As well as the ability to remove any UGM (user-generated media) without needing to inform/notify the user.
