The Pens. Malkin can't play the wing worth shit and moving Malkin up to the first line with Ovie would be amazing. Staal could move up to the 2nd line. On the flip side, Backstrom is a fantastic center and would either have to move down or to the wing because of Crosby.

Yeah I'd say the Pens too. Ovie on the Pens would be like 99% guaranteed to win the Cup. Imagine Ovie and Crosby on the same team... dynasty?

It will be interesting to see what happens if Canada and Russia meet at the Winter Olympics. Malkin will probably be playing with Ovie vs Crosby and co.

Apparently the NHL is in favor of not sending players to Russia for the 2014 Olympics and its pissing off players like Ovechkin and Kovalchcuk who are from Russia and want to play on home ice in the Olympics. No decision will be made until the NHL renews their CBA in 2011..

Might not want to piss off the future talent from Russia to not come to the US to play in the NHL.

In a way I can see why the NHL might reject to the tradition of them taking a break for the Olympics since the KHL is their main rival in pro hockey but at the same time it is very stupid since Russia is a big supplier of international players after Canada for the NHL.

Wouldn't be surprised if this ends in a "boycott" by the KHL when the Winter Olympics goes back to the US similar to the 1980s between USA and USSR/Soviet Union in Summer Olympics.

After Torino, there were these talks. Because the next Olympics were in Vancouver, they stated they would play in the Olympics again, however the thought remained that is was diffucult on the NHL. I hpe that the NHLers will continue to play in the Olympics after the 2010 games.

ESPN is trashing the West teams for doing almost nothing compared to the amount of trades East teams did but they admit the whole trade deadline was boring.

Bruins trade for a defense player but forget to do anything that could help get a goal or assist scorer. The deal itself wasn't too valuable since all Bruins gave up was a 4th round pick for 2011 draft.

I imagine so. He'd be a fit in Buffalo who has been a soft team all season, as well as the Isles who could use someone to protect Tavares, especially since they've waived Witt, delt Sutton and seem to lack confidence in Rechliez. Tim Jackman is their only "toughguy" and he doesn't exactly strike fear in other teams line ups. I can't see him on the Caps because they play too up tempo and Boudreau despite having Brashear on his roster lack year doesn't care for enforcers and is content with Bradley and Erskine handling the duties.
I'm shocked Brashear got let go, especially since they replaced him with Shelley who isn't exactly an upgrade in fighting skill or hockey skill.

What am I gonna say "Anyone see Crosby tap Lundqvist after he took a dive," that sounds retarded.
