Rey, this time and last (self-explanatory, wayyyyyyyy too small for that big-ass belt)

Vince McMahon (both the WWE and ECW title reigns were unnecessary, and only goes to show how self-centered he can be when he wants to).

Yeah, might as well call it the fucking World Cruiserweight Championship while they're at it...that's why I really have to hope and pray that somehow against all the odds we see Swagger take back his belt Sunday, or that we see either one as champ at the end of the night only to have had Christian be SD!'s MitB winner, and have him cash in and win the belt at the end of the night to send the crowd home happy. Most likely a pipe dream, but I can still hope.

It really annoys me when they change the name of the title whenever Mysterio wins it. Look, it's the World Heavyweight Title and Rey Mysterio stepped up to win it. Don't remove the "Heavyweight" just because of that. If you don't want guys who aren't heavyweights to win your Heavyweight Title, then don't book them to do such.

That being said, I don't really have a problem with Rey winning the title. He's a great talent. His first reign was booked into oblivion, though, and his second win came at a wrong point in time (Swagger was doing fine, and CM Punk was the other guy in the match that could have used the win). It being used as a bargaining chip makes sense, given that they wanted Rey to stay, but is a bit messy.

I've got a gut feeling that Mysterio won't be walking out of Money in the Bank "World Champion," though. It may be Swagger, it may be McIntyre or it may be Christian; but I have a feeling someone is taking the gold.

On an unrelated note:

I find it really odd that in discussions of bad champions, one who never comes up is Vince Russo. At least David Arquette's win was done as a publicity stunt. Who the fuck was Vince Russo to deserve a fluke win? But I didn't watch at the time, so maybe I was missing something?

Yokozuna was an awesome champion.

If we want to go back a bit, Tommy Rich and Ronnie Garvin as NWA champs were horrible moves, as was Ron Simmons.

Vince McMahon as World Champ/WWECW Champ
Stephanie as Women's Champ
Randy Orton as WHC (2004) - give it a few months til he got over properly then give him the belt.
Kane as WWE Champ (1998) - Should of been longer not a 24 hour reign
Big Show as WWE Champ (1999) - Would of been effective after feuding with Bossman
Rey Mysterio - more of a sympathy biscuit when he first won it and now just to make the guy happy.

Jeff Hardy-WWE/WHC. Granted I know he was suspended, but why couldn't he have longer runs with these belts? If this was the case, then don't give it to him at all.
Bob Backlund-WWE Champ 1994. He loses it in 48 hrs.
Spirit Squad-Tag champions. The stable was a joke, and while it was a interesting storyline with them defending the belts, I still thought it was ridiculous.
Hulk Hogan-1993 title run. Made Yokozuna AND Bret look like fools.

Gonna stick to world titles for this.

Ronnie Garvin - Not over

Diamond Dallas Page - Good worker, but he was given the title cause he was Bischoff's buddy, and I never bought him as World Championship material

Scott Steiner - He was given the World Championship because everyone was afraid to piss him off

JBL - Loved the gimmick, not a suitable champion though

You are correct here. However, the reason why he got that world title was because of a car accident that changed wrestling history. The belt was supposed to go to Magnum TA.

DDP was so incredibly over in WCW it's not even funny. Even if he wasn't Bischoff's buddy, he deserved it anyways. He had awesome feuds and matches, cut great promos, and got the crowd fired up. He was a key player in the WCW vs. nWo storyline.

The real mistake was turning him heel right after he won it.

I'm going old school on you guys: Stan "the Man" Stasiak.

Stan only held the championship for nine days. It was perfect definition of a transitional title run as Bruno recaptured it and held it for another impressive run of about 3-4 years.

Also because of this reign as champion we were greeted to the great personality of Shawn "Meat Planet" Stasiak.

Yeah the belt was put on Stasiak because the company wanted Bruno Sammartino as its champion, but didn't want Sammartino to defeat current champion Pedro Morales in the process. Stasiak was champion from December 1, 1973 to December 10, 1973, although he did have the talent and ability to hold the title longer.

NO REASON to have him beat Bret Hart at Survivor Series, only to take the belt away from him a couple days later in a 8 second match vs Diesel.

Hulk Hogan because there were thousands or different guys who had the same Charisma and could draw just as much.

Mike Rapada who the fuck is that guy. He beat Sabu for the NWA world title.
Larry Zybysko he was only AWA champion because was married into the Gagne family.

Goldberg in 2003 that whole run was just farce. It was what I like to call Uwe Boll booking because it made no fucking sense at all.

I don't dislike the guy, but Jack Swagger.

He was given the title to get him over, and I'm usually not a fan of that.

He got Orton'd worse than Orton, Swagger'd.

I never felt Sid deserved the belt. A big reason for that is probably because his reign was plopped between the likes of Shawn, Bret, Taker and Austin.
I also thought he sucked. In fact I always thought Vader should have gotten the nod before he did.

Khali also comes to mind.

Any diva other than Melina, Beth Phoenix, or Natalya Neidhart has no business wrestling as a champion although I would let Layla touch me.

My biggest gripe, Khali. Although I understand from a business perspective why Vince did it.

I'm not too mad about Swagger. I like the idea of Vince giving fresh faces a chance to sink or swim. It worked for Punk and Sheamus (he's grown on me), and I kinda want to see Miz cash in and go over Orton, even though Orton's the man right now.

I have to go with Mysterio. He never deserved it by accomplishing anything. They gave it to him the first time because Eddie died and he was his best friend. This time just to shut him up about the money thing. He's to small and very unconvincing as a champ.
