I don't know. I think being a good talker can only do so much. You can cut fucking brilliant promos all you want. Those scary, haunting, intimidating words don't carry the same weight coming from a guy who loses left and right. As many times as he's talked a big game and cut some creepy promo only to job, why would anyone not listen to him and just be like "LOL Okay, guy"?

I feel like WWE has enough lapsed viewers that would take Wyatt seriously if they just resumed watching and Wyatt was, you know, winning matches. And most of the internet community would accept it because we all want him to be taken seriously even if we know they cocked things up really badly with him earlier.

At the moment though it seems clear that WWE hasn't got a fucking clue what to do with him.

Wyatt would seem to be a guy who is a good enough talker to end up erasing all the damage that's been done with the idiotic way he's been booked for the last several months.

Shame I don't have a whole lot of faith in WWE to get to that point.
He might be a good enough talker, but he shouldn't have to be. Not yet.

Roman doesn't NEED money in the bank. If the endgame is for this guy to be "the man", they don't have to take the most direct route. A loss to Wyatt could have started one of those pesky moneymaking storyline devices called A GODDAMN FEUD! Waytt can talk, but that seems to be all they have him doing. Talking and losing. Nobody wants to back a constant loser, even if they're a heel. He's supposed to be "The New Face of Fear", and they book him to be just "A Minor Inconvenience". Instead of both guys getting something out of this (Reigns beats two strong competitors, but loses to Bray in what was already unfair, but against a suppsed legit threat to boot), Roman gets more poised to pick up SuperCena's cape, Bray goes back to fucking off somewhere, and Mox gets a rub by association to the golden child.

Reigns eventually winning the war could be explained away later by Bray. Right now, it would just be empty, unsatisfying words from someone who appears to not be able to get it accomplished in the ring.

It's Paul Heyman. He basically cut the same promo about Brock Lesnar for most of the past year, and it was great every time.

Just imagine if the Daniel Bryan match at the Royal Rumble a couple years ago was designed not to get Bray over for a match with Cena... but to get Bray over... period. WWE has a knack lately for only pushing guys for their next feud. A "lower level" example would be R-Truth. He jobs constantly. Then they wanna put him in a big match and lo and behold... HE PICKS UP A WIN OR TWO! That's enough in WWE's mind to build him up as a threat in the upcoming multi-man match. Then he goes right back to jobber status. Rinse. Repeat.

Nothing is designed to get anyone over in the long run. Bray's match with Daniel Bryan should have been the start of something. Scary monster cult leader just cleanly took down your hero. Now people should start fearing him. For good. It should have been the beginning of a consistent booking pattern and not just a way to build him up for one single match in a month or two. That's not how you build stars.

He's better than most of the roster with promos but Creative either ends up doing nothing to build on his promos or just have him lose critical matches making him more "bark" than "bite" with his words.

Him beating Ryback in their one match feud should have lead to him and not Big Show be Ryback's current threat for the IC title. Instead he's back to doing nothing of worthy note.

People in the company seem to have lost the meaning of "wins and losses don't matter". Yes, they don't really count for shit in a boxer or basketball team way, but if someone loses all the fucking time, nobody wants to see them because "they suck" and if someone WINS all the fucking time, it's boring and predictable.

Again, I dont "hate" Roman, but they want him to be a world beater. Cena is a world beater, thus the backlash. Little kids that don't know better like someone who wins all the time because he wins all the time. Once that kid hits that threshold where the drama isn't there because it goes from "I hope my hero wins" to "let me guess, he wins again , right?" they kinda lose a little luster. And when the person who got beat fades into obscurity, what did you really gain?
