Some drivers were worried before the race because cars were getting up to 225mph, which is just insane. Especially for a field this large.

One of our best exports in Motor Racing. He wasn't so well known here, but I remember when he was almost getting a seat in F1 with BMW

I heard someone suggest that they probably wont run the series next year, not entirely due to the crash and all but also because they were losing money hand over fist to start with and this will only end up costing them more money in the long run.

His car flipped in mid air and the open cockpit hit the fence directly. That's probably what did it. Surprised it wasn't instant death tbh.
