Smackdown: HCTP help

Okay, I was reading about how you can use a regular WWE superstar to get attribute points and use it on a wrestler you created. I've been playing for about 3 seasons with Batista, racking in many attribute points. But I can't put it on my custom wrestler. Can anyone help here?
