What's a good site for Windows Media Player codecs :@
Just annoying, because on some of my por- I mean erm videos, they have no sound, but it like tries to connect and download a codec each time I open the file but ends up getting an error, i'd like to know what codec to get to make the sound work but I have no idea what I need
![]() Anyone ever fixed this? ![]() |

If it's an *.avi, then you most likely need the XVid codec.
Though I can only get it to work with some movies, others just don't play at all

hmmm, well one of the files that does this error (the only one i can find right now) is an mpg, so i dunno if its that xvid thing.
the thumbnail doesnt show up in XP either, so i'm thinking perhaps the file has been renamed to the wrong extension

Videos that have been encoded with Xvid are always avi's (to my knowledge).
And I don't think there's an mpg anywhere that won't work in WMP
