Reggaeton has dug itself into a hole

You know how like, every time you here a reggaeton song, it has the exact same beat as every other reggaeton song on the planet, you know what I am talking about. So everytime I hear a reggaeton song I am like this has the same beat as every reggaeton song ever. But what I realized is, anytime I hear that beat, I am automatically just like reggaeton, and if a song does not have that beat I will just disregard it as something other than reggaeton and then stop thinking about the song. But if there was a reggaeton song that came out that did not have that beat, nobody would regard it as reggaeton, because it did not have that beat. Or maybe there are other characteristics of reggaeton songs besides that one beat that I am unaware of.
