Explain.

Ubisoft developed an experience system where you earned experience points in every mode of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (if they were not actually the first to do this, correct me). These points led to upgrades that you can use in all modes of the game.

People really liked that.

Ubisoft gave the recent Splinter Cell Conviction the same system, people liked it again. Halo Reach has a new credit system which is essentially the same as the PEC concept where all modes reward you 'money' you can use to purchase effects for your character (which will show in all modes).

PEC is Persistent Elite Creation (or was it Character?), but I see it as Persistent Character. What SvR11 is doing sounds like a similar system. And really, I wouldn't mind it showing up in more games.

Truth be told, I'm not too fussed about a demo, I never play them nowadays although I can see why that would upset some people.

The grappling 'improvement' has me raising an eyebrow. While I don't think it will be quite: arm drag, arm bar, moss-covered three-handled Family Credenza, arm bar, back breaker... I suspect it will be severely limited. I can't imagine your tiger bombs, your t-bone suplexes and your vertebreakers would be 'weak grapples', but I could be wrong.

I won't grab my pitchfork until release date.

I guess I'm just a little irked that they started teasing the entire group being in just to only make 3 of them DLC. The crowd was chanting "Daniel Bryan" last night and Ledesma just had a shit-eating grin on his face. I guess it comes down to me being in the minority. I almost never use legends or divas so I would have preferred to throw the rest of the group in instead of Layla, Bulldog, Luger, etc.

I can see Bryan being in a future DLC pack and maybe even Kaval now that he won NXT Season 2 (which would be fucking awesome). I have my doubts that we'll ever see "authentic" versions of Tarver, Sheffield, etc. though cause THQ probably don't think any of them will be around after the storyline ends.

My main concern is that the good CAW makers out there are going to decide there's no point in spending the hours on Barrett, Otunga, or Gabriel CAWs which would mean I have to make them on my own, and I suck at CAW-making. Since I plan on running a sim fed this year thanks to the new WWE Universe mode, I wanna have the entire roster in there asap but I may have to wait until mid-December or whenever the DLC 2 Pack comes out.</font>

Yeah, this is what I would want. Though the CAW clothes don't tend to be on par with the default clothes. Like I've said countless times, they need to build the default wrestlers (aside from the facial and body scans) with a similar (but obviously more advanced) CAW to make it compatible.

Nah, there are a few threads on the SvR site as Q&A with the THQ guys, and one basically said that the only reason they did King and Cole was because SD and ECW were being shuffled around so much, that they couldn't guarantee it being right.

Bull if you ask me. The team got shuffled round around the time of last years game. Foley and JR were calling, then Foley left. Then Tazz replaced him. Then he left. Then Striker replaced him. Then JR was "removed", and Grisham replaced him.


Last years game, we had Tazz and JR on SD, and Striker and Grisham on ECW. They could have easily have used the ECW commentary and rerecorded some extra lines to go with the newer guys, like Naitch said.

It definitely comes down to personal preference though. I mean, to me, personally, presentation is every bit as important as gameplay. I want the moves to look awesome and the matches to feel as they should. But I also want to see authentic entrances with awesome pyro and lighting. I want to be able to change the attire up, or edit them to update.


For example, I think it's official that Masked Kane is a legend now. I would like to take him to superstar threads and invert the colours, to match his WM2000 attire. Just to get all I can from the game.





Speaking of attires, I noticed that one of the pre-order attires for Orton is special referee. This is the 3rd year in a row that someone has had a ref attire, but for some years now, there has been no special referee attire. Seems really pointless.

Remember in No Mercy, where like everyone had a referee attire, just in case :lol:

Don't think that was reversals, as the guy said, when two guys go for a grapple on each other, they go into a collar and elbow minigame. I presume that if you didn't press A, the CPU would have the advantage. Sort of like the Royal Rumble last year how if you tried to eliminate someone via the turnbuckle instead of the ropes.

Something small, but cool that I noticed. When Sheamus won, his music kicked in from the 'main' part of the music, rather than the intro. Would be cool if it did that with guys like HHH, Batista etc.

Also, very pumped for this game now. The reversal animations look sweet as fuck. I think they finally may have the 'wrestling sim' thing down now. Along with the graphics this year, I think maybe a No Mercy killer?


Finally saw a sample of the 'muscle structure' thing they have this year. If you haven't seen it, watch Triple H's entrance on the official site, and watch his neck and pecs tense up after he spits the water. Its pretty awesome.

Frankly, I can't see how any of those guys got in over Khali (even if he WAS planning on taking time off) or even Chris Masters (who got relegated to DLC) so I'd guess it is going to be something totally out of left field, like a playable Matt Striker or something.</font>

I'm wondering when the "proper" CAW video will be out. Each year there is usually a video taking you through the CAW mode, showing you most of it, if not all of it.
Another thing, if Randy Orton has a ref costume, does that mean special guest refs are back? I enjoyed those matches in the old games.

Remember in the old SD games, when you chose a special referee the wrestlers whole top area became a default referee body? :lol:

They have said that they're looking to upgrade 'Threads' to an attire editor in the next couple of years (apparently it's just more complicated than they anticipated). So maybe when that comes into play, we'll see the return of a Special Ref mode, where they get a ref shirt placed on them for the match?

That's one of the reasons I'm actually looking forward to the game. I liked that about No Mercy. Jackknife Powerbombing someone onto the ladder was fun and now Smackdown finally has that with the added bonus of physics and weapon damage <s>like the ladder buckling after someone is thrown onto it in the video.</s> Could have sworn I saw ladder damage somewhere. Anyone know where I might have seen that?

All I really need now to be 100% onboard is a good, fun CAW mode. Hopefully this years game will have it.

Yeah, ladders can snap in half etc.

You are able to throw people on any weapon, like PorkSoda said, things don't really have their own animation now. It just interacts where it needs to. Like you could Pedigree someone on a chair, just because the chair is there while you do it.

According to Kotaku late in August, they let details out that every version of WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011, released at launch in Canada will come with a download code for Bret “The Hitman” Hart. So that is probably what the limited edition means.

Having a canadian hero of today, a International Wrestling icon like the Undertaker and guy who is rumored to be a top guy on Friday Night Smackdown on The Score and Syfy is a smart decision by THQ.

As it appears this may be only for the PS3 and Xbox 360, do to those system having the abilities to have Downloadable content via Playstation Network and Xbox Live.

I should have worded that better, I meant is the first time they have shown his actual character model? He does seem like an odd choice to leave off of the disc, considering Finlay has only been on TV once since December, Vance Archer is in there and we're likely to have a long gone guy like Wang Yang, Funaki or Slam Master J making the final cut. I'm assuming they removed Carlito but none of the others due to the wellness policy.
