Well, you can tell when it's download time. If the file you d/l is a few kb, the content is on disc. If you're looking at several mb or a gig, it's not on disc.

I think they said he was planned for DLC but replaced him with Gabriel or Otunga when he was released. Makes sense since the Nexus character models don't seem to be ready yet.

That doesn't sound right. They said that the only reason they have Otunga, Barratt and Gabriel is because they were the final 3 in NXT, so therefore the most likely to be part of the active roster.

Some DLC is totally worth the purchase though. Like Burnout Paradise. They gave you this great game, then added 23457578 things for free like bikes and weather effects later, then they added cops & robbers and fantasy cars and a whole new area to drive in years later.

With this, it's worth it. You get guys who wouldn't have been in otherwise and other arenas. Nothing to complain about here.

You probably can't keep the same entrance because if your intro is custom, some parts of it will have the belt on your waist and others will have it on the shoulder.

Wouldn't be surprised to see ABA Taker get a different entrance. Shawn Michaels and Triple H got different entrances for their DX attires.

It's also nice for those who pick up the game who've maybe never played a SD! game or have, but only once or twice before, since they'll be able to scroll through the list of wrestlers faster and know who's who quicker, what all the superstars and divas' attributes and sig./finishers are, allowing them to choose quicker than before (or instead of just pressing square for some random superstar/diva to pop up...), and get into the action much quicker.

Just saw a video with some French guy showing off a promotional copy. Haven't posted it because it's a 15 min video with little new information.

Few things I did pick up on though, were the locked arenas. Tribute to the Troops was there, which obviously confirms it as an unlockable and making the preorder bonus pointless.

Aside from that and the regular PPV's, there was an Undertaker arena, which means the arena from the druid picture is an actual arena, and not just for RTWM purposes,

And there is an arena logo that is hard to work out. But it looks like Bischoff-era Raw if I'm honest.

I'm on the fence because it seems like they're still using animations from 10 years ago and every wrestlers is a lot bigger and more ripped than they've ever been. How was the game play in last year's? I can forgive the extremely huge bodies and recycled moves/animations if the end product is fun.

Gameplay was improved in a lot of areas. If the last one you played was HCTP, you will probably find that it's about 50-50 on what's new and what's old.

To be honest, I think the graphics look just fine. I think it's just the video quality. Some of the videos on the official site's superstar pages are fine.

Funky, I know they have flexing. Just Jericho in that picture looks way too 'roided'. It's fine though, I'm sure it'll look awesome when they actually flex and the skin and muscles change.

Not so bothered about the review. I always use reviews just to get more information about the game, rather than let the score decide if I'm getting the game or not.
In my eyes, this game is a huge improvement over last year, and I haven't been this hyped over a Smackdown game in years.

I think the addition of Havoc Physics is seriously under rated in that review. For me at least, it's increased re-playability because of the freedom it can give you. Plus there is much more leeway on mindless violence in the ring, which will appeal to alot of fans.

Like I said before though, I guess we can all judge ourselves next week.

The graphics are worse. Not as bad as the videos make out though but they look slightly cartoonish in a way, especially Edge.

Not complaining though. Just started some Universe stuff. Turned Cena heel and Edge face and having a #1 contender match on Raw. Cena attacked Edge before the match and got 3 finishers falls count anywhere, hit the AA and got a near fall. Bear Cena with the spear and the highlights come straight on awesomely.

Then McMahons music hit and told me (spoken, not text) that the match isn't over. Did I forget about my other opponent and Kozlov came out. Gonna lose on purpose but hope he's unlocked, want a Kozlov #1 contender :D

Gonna do a full Raw event next time. Seems awesome.

The only thing I've noticed is you can't manually edit the rankings.

Noticed a couple of issues too. Playing against Primo on Superstars, DiBiase came out to interfere and when I went for the pin, he distracted the ref. So Primo went out the ring and hit my manager, Natlaya for an automatic DQ. No idea why.

Commentary is a bit odd as well. Kept saying that the way to win was to climb the ladder and it was just a singles match. Cole could probably botch that in real WWE anyways though :shifty:

Just had my best Raw. Cena Vs. Edge in a submission match with me as Edge. Before the match, instead of Cena doing his normal entrance, he just ran to the ring and tackled Edge and got some finishers. After some back and forth, Orton just runs to the ring, RKO's Cena and leaves.

Made me cringe a bit. Picked up the win, then Christian (who I turned heel) and Jericho storm the ring and beat up Edge.

Main event is Sheamus and Orton which I put on CPU V CPU while I had a smoke. Orton did a complete squash, but then my CAW ran to the ring and distracted the ref after 3 straight RKOs. Didn't do anything though, Orton still got that pin to stick.

Then Justin Roberts gets on the mic and says that by orders of the GM, the match will restart as a submission match, which orton wins again.

There is some odd booking though, like in this weeks Superstars, the opening match is Primo Vs. JTG, but Cena's Primos manager and they have no relationship.

The main events were epic. After I squashed Rey with Kane, Undertaker appears behind him and decks him and after Edge beat Orton for the WWE title, my CAW came out to deck Orton while Jericho took out Edge :D

Everything in the game looks/sounds great. My only issue is the unlimited CAW attributes. Everyone that uses a CAW online is going to be maxed out. Though that's not necessarily a bad thing because the match would then be down to player skill and not "my guy's stronger than your guy".

Nah, that's a good thing. Building up your guy the first 1 or 2 times DoR style is fine, but after that I want to be able to give my CAWs stats the way I see fit. Have like 20 CAWs each for DoR1 and 2. Also, remember No Mercy and WM2000? You didn't have to build stats and they had some of the best CAW set ups ever.

But No Mercy and WM2000 didn't let you max out everything. I'm fine with letting us put points where we want and I know everyone will do a decent job on setting up stats but online CAW matches will be OVR 99 vs OVR 99 every time.

I still think a slider with two opposing things at each side would work. Like,

or something. That way no one can max out every stat and be Superman.

Oh yeah, about the CAW thing. You can go to OVR 100 straight away, bit you can't max out a CAW per sé. Depending on the weight class, you can't go to max on some attributes such as strength on my light heavyweight.

1) That sucks. Minitrons are 3 second long, max, animation loops. I wouldn't have thought there would have been a need to not make them interchangable.

2) Maybe the stairs are too big for the female character models and they didn't want it to look weird. Like No Mercy, when a female character raised their arms, they'd be disconnected from the body and just floating in mid air.

Heard that in a few reviews, the RTWM's been changed almost for the sake of change. I only really play them once or twice anyway,just for the acheivments/unlockables, so i dont think itll bother me too much.

To be fair, it does make me laugh, how WWE's TV has gone PG. But the SvR games are getting more violent every year. Last year they added the effect of blood smearing over your body as you beat up your busted up opponent. This year they've improved everything about weapons and how they interact with the wrestlers. It's hard to get the CAW title ones with the rankings. I just moved everyone bar 3 to Raw and just won #1 contender matches and the world title one doesn't work by cashing in MITB, you have to be booked in the title match.

Hasney said himself that despite all of its flaws, he still spent hours on it. No game is perfect. He said that the physics work great and the gameplay is hugely improved. To be fair, they're "flipping out" on facts that change how they play the game and most of the problems are retarded and easily fixed.

Gameplay is still nowhere near DoR2 (and therefore No Mercy), but seeing the physics makes everything more brutal, which is awesome.

To be fair, I think RTWM and Universe/ Career/ GM Mode appeal to two different crowds.

They started the whole RTWM thing to show off VO and personalised storys, but alot of the hardcore fans really missed the freedom of HCTP/ No Mercy Career. So I think they are branching off in both directions.

The voiced and storied RTWM for the marks, and the book it yourself approach of Universe and all related modes for the more harcore/ "smart" fans. I only ever play the RTWM once each, or as needed. To get the unlockables and check out the stories, where as Universe will keep me busy for ages as far as I can tell.

I think the only reason they've done this retarded title system/rankings is for the achievements for your CAW to get titles. I can't think why it would make sense in anyones head otherwise.

One thing I've noticed about the physics is that some moves just don't work on weapons. Mostly the older ones that haven't been re-animated (just get rid of them if you're not going to bother) but also some CAF finishes. My spinning piledriver won't go through tables, for instance.

They need to go back to every other year instead of yearly. They know they need big new features every game to make people want it again, but that's how we get silly, clearly rushed design choices.

Just go back, make sure everything they're adding makes sense, refine the gameplay and make sure all moves work with your engine and don't rush. Simples. Also, to keep people a little quiet on missing a years edition, keep the game updated for a year and a half with DLC. Some people will pay, you know it.

Plus they might have cool names again other than just bolting the year on the end. A huge deal, I know :shifty:

That's what I've been saying for years, and it's something Madden should do. But neither will because they make way too much on the yearly model.

The best model (for the consumer) would be to sell the base game one year and keep updating it with DLC, both free and paid DLC. Have one large DLC every year for like $20 -$30. It would include all updated attires, arenas and new moves/match types, if needed. Do not put out another one until significant changes happen.

A few years ago it was the control stick (I think 08, possibly 07). That would have been the "last game" until this year's with the physics engine. The next one could be an overhaul of graphics, for example.

Honestly, I think Universe will keep me going a lot longer than most games. Most of the time, I just exhibition. GM mode was too in-depth for me to really get into, and I honestly rarely played the RTWM's. But with Universe it'll keep me going with the "evolving world" and the fueds I think.

Plus I'm actually excited about CAW this year. I barely bothered with CAWs or Downloaded guys at all last year because of the grind and not being able to put the abilities at what they should be right away.

Do downloaded wrestlers have their attributes intact? I know this was covered a long time ago but I can't remember the answers.
