I like John Morrison, I like The Miz, I like Muhammad Hassan, I like Bryan Danielson, I would fuck Nikki Bella, and Brie Bella's alright too, I guess.

This poll asking whether or not they should bring back Danielson is pretty interesting. He might be back ASAP. Danielson as the driver?

I don't think he'll be back until August at the earliest. The latest show he's booked for so far is July 30th, and now in early July he's booked for dates in Germany. I mean yeah, he may have some sort of "opt-out" agreement with all of these dates saying he can back out if WWE call for an early return...but that would still be an awful lot of gigs to cancel and potential piss off several promoters who built their shows around him. I know WWE let Matt Hardy finish up his ROH dates when he came back to WWE, but still.

Also, it's being said that the poll is just a cheap excuse to get web traffic from the situation. I'm not surprised by that. Despite about 6,500 people now "liking" the option of bring back Danielson, not to mention several "Bring Back Bryan!" wall posts popping up on the WWE Universe page every minute, I doubt it will really have any impact on the timing of his return.

In my dream world, Bret will announce on Sunday that he will have the 7 NXT guys signing their deals on Monday. Then the next night once they sign "Oh yeah by the way, I signed somebody else that you're quite familiar with..." and enter the Dragon. Not that I especially want to see that because I'll be there live next Monday or anything. :shifty:

I have to say that, even though we now know it's not a work, this is the most interesting storyline that's come out of WWE in a long while. Especially with Danielson's write off this past Monday. If he does come back, which I think he will, I can't help but wonder what direction they're going to go with him. The Cole fued never got brought to an end, and he now has remorse for what he did. It's going to be an interesting couple of months.

They're letting him go out there a bit early? Normally there's a bit of a cool-down period, isn't there? Anyway, I don't understand this "getting traffic to the page" bullshit. I understand them wanting traffic, but using Daniel Bryan's name? They must know that it garners attention for them. Isn't that a good thing? If I'm running a wrestling promotion, and the best thing I can do to get attention for myself is to use some guy's name I just released -- I'd feel pretty dumb for releasing him.

The buzz is that the WWE wants Danielson back after he's served his time away from the company. It probably won't be until his indy dates are fulfilled. But I wouldn't expect to see Danielson out of the company for the entirety of the year.

Guys, seriously, you sound like your 10 year old dog just got shot. It is one indy wrestler, wouldn't you rather see him in his element, wrestling the way he wants to wrestle other than seeing him watered down?

Exactly. He may never be able to use his full arsenal of moves, but he'd still be one of the better workers on the roster and be making a LOT more than he would anyplace else.

Anyway...not that I think this would actually happen, but given that all of the indy dates Dragon's booked for are on Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays, that still leaves Monday open. WWE letting him finish up his dates while bringing him in on Mondays to terrorize NXT (who may "officially" have contracts by then) while a full-out heel Michael Cole is all like "WHAT'S THAT LOSER DOING HERE? HE WENT BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT SCENE!!!" would be immense.

If they are really going to do what they are rumored to be doing with the NXT guys at MITB, I could easily see them booking the match with all 7 NXT guys and then adding Danielson in as a "mystery" 8th participant. He could play the babyface underdog in the match and end up winning the contract.

I'd love to see that. He'd only have a few indy dates left after that so he could either blow them off or convince WWE to let him finish them up. Either he is a surprise entrant in the match, or he makes a run in from the crowd and steals the contract.

If the storyline is built up as "Bret's making us all fight, but it won't work because we're united!" then something would definitely have to give. All-heel matches rarely work out, nevermind 7 heels. The fans would need at least one guy to root for.

Taking this with a grain of salt, and more than likely bullshit. But, it's worth posting for speculation purposes:

Posted by Ringside Xcess on June 19, 2010

It's been confirmed that Linda McMahon's Senate campaign is part of the reason why Bryan Danielson was released from his WWE contract for choking Justin Roberts with his necktie. One member of Linda's team contacted Vince McMahon himself and informed him about how it would affect the company's policy they put into affect following the drama back in 2007 involving Chris Benoit.

Vince sat down with Danielson on Friday June 11th to inform him he was being let go for the incident. He also reassured Danielson that "he'll be rehired after the election." Vince then informed Stephanie about the release, to which she informed the creative team and other WWE officials that he has been legitimately released from the company for said incident.

Danielson does have the traditional 90-day no-compete clause in his contract, which has a special key point where he's only allowed to work independent shows in which he is able to obtain/own the footage because WWE plans to use this footage for his eventual return. Believe it or not, Danielson is also allowed to work house shows only for TNA if the two could work some type of deal out, however the explanation behind this was not given.

WWE has already been planning Danielson's return to the company. There's already been talk under wraps as to how he will return, but it's been said that Danielson has been asked by WWE officials to shoot on WWE Champion John Cena & the entire WWE product, so when he returns, there will be instant heat on his character.

---

Would be fucking awesome if true (which again, I doubt). Of course, it'd suck not being able to see Danielson until November...but if he got a major storyline that would rule.

Man, the grain of salt has to be so large it could choke an elephant.

But, if it were legit and he did do a TNA house show, which WWE could use the footage from, it would be crazy to see Angle in cattle mutilation on WWE TV.

Smells of pure BS though.

Assuming it is true (which it probably isn't), that's probably the WWE's thinking. TNA would no doubt throw Danielson into a match with Kurt Angle and AJ Styles (and book him to lose), but Danielson would own the footage of him kicking ass for a little bit of the match, which can be pieced together (with no time-frame given if it is Angle he is facing).

The working with TNA thing could also be to keep his name "hot" while they wait for that election date to come along. If Danielson plays the game Vince wants him to (regardless of this is actually it or not), he could really earn some company points.

And you've got to mark out for El Generico using the tie.

That's right, NXT Season 1 standout Daniel Bryan, "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, will make his MWF debut at the BIG BANG BIRTHDAY BASH in September as we celebrate our 9th anniversary! Danielson is one of the finest professional wrestlers on the planet, however, why would Cena sign the man that tried to cripple his son??

Hmm, maybe that idea of giving Danielson a HUGE push upon his return is legit. Cena's dad's gonna get his fucking head kicked in?

The TNA part sets off the "it's bullshit" alarm. I seriously doubt WWE would ever approve someone under contract to wrestle in TNA, let alone use their footage.

Shit just got real

Well, well, well. If it isn't the rookie sensation Daniel Bryan. I have been studying up on your illustrious career ever since Dieter called me and told me that I was being re-booked to face you in Cleveland. Guess I'll have to take out that trash Eddie Kingston a little bit later. No loss. I heard he was on the verge of wetting himself when our match was announced to the dirty internet masses (your bff's.)

So Daniel, I have to tell you, what I have seen of your brief career leaves me a little...underwhelmed. Darren Young beat you. Wade Barrett crushed you. Batista manhandled you. I don't know that you've ever won a match. And me? I'm the YOUNG LIONS CUP champion, kid! I defend my Cup against the best rookies in the world. You couldn't even win the obstacle course on NXT while I am a CHAMPION of men. Tell me, rookie Daniel Bryan, or whatever alias you are using this week, how do you expect to beat me in a singles match?

I saw on YouTube how tough you are in a gang of eight...you managed to take apart a ring and spit on John Cena...but this is a one-on-one wrestling contest we're having in Cleveland (you can take the ring down after the show, noob.) Eight on one? Very impressive. You don't see me hiding behind a big gang of thugs, do you? No. I am my own man. I have blazed a trail in this industry for up-and-coming wrestlers (like the youngsters you see on NXT) to follow. And maybe one day you will, Daniel. But in Cleveland, you best remember - I'm not some muscle-bound klutz that doesn't know how to punch and can barely throw a shoulder tackle. I am the GREATEST YOUNG LIONS CUP CHAMPION OF ALL TIME!

What you and all your loyal Twitter followers need to understand is that wrestling is far more complicated than most people realize. There's a reason why Triple-H will make more money this afternoon than you will all year. There's a reason why the Miz still has a job. It's 'cause they have something you know nothing about: charisma. When you have it, combined with great wrestling ability like mine, you're not the "NXT big thing," you already are.

You might be a little confused when you get to CHIKARA. Maybe it would be helpful to pair you with a real "pro," like Lince Dorado or Pinkie Sanchez. They could guide you through the weird world of CHIKARA where there are no "obstacle courses" or "promo challenges" - you're actually going to have to wrestle. Pushing around a Michael Cole or strangling a Justin Roberts is one thing, but facing off with Tim Donst is something else entirely. You're going to be down on the mat with the All-American mat machine, the YLC champ, and the hottest thing going today.

The new best in the world,
TD

lol, when I got home from Raw on Monday I watched the entire Vince beatdown on WWE.com, it was the entire incident including the stares, the laughing, and then the stares/circling.

I just checked again and, shock of shocks, they cut the vid to start when the rookies have already circled Vince. AKA immediately after the Daniel Bryan chants ended.

Not that the chants matter one iota, but at least WWE is aware that 10 or so people at each show care about Daniel Bryan :shifty:

Wasn't Bret Hart beating him at WrestleMania meant to achieve the same thing? I agree with the doubt Vince will stick to it. Also, I am really, really surprised Vince McMahon took Sheffield's lariat, Barrett's Wasteland and Gabriel's 450 Splash. Especially the 450. Somewhere Paul London was crying when he saw that. Vince really wants this angle to work. If this fucks up, I think it's more because they can't book it right, rather than them wanting it to fail, which will be sad.

Vince hates spitting and has banned it in WWE's rings for a long time. Vince has a hatred for people spitting, smoking and sneezing. From Danielson's blog at http://officialbryandanielson.blogspot.com/:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of NXT first season rookie Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) as of today June 11, 2010. We wish Daniel Bryan the best in all future endeavors.”

Posted by WWE.com

Since this statement was released I’ve been bombarded with messages asking me if it’s real, and by now I’m sure that most people know that it is.

WWE is very serious about adhering to their PG guidelines, and apparently my actions during the NXT attack on John Cena, namely choking announcer Justin Roberts with his tie and spitting in Cena’s face, crossed the boundaries of what is considered “PG.” Perhaps the choking was too violent or perhaps the spit was too demeaning. I apologized for both immediately following the incident; but I would be a hypocrite if I apologized for putting everything I have into the attack. I would much rather have gone too far than to come up too short.

As with anyone who gets fired from their job, especially when they feel its unjust, I am angry. Very angry. But I can’t fault WWE for how they handled my release. My contract contained a 90 day no-compete clause in the event I was let go, yet the WWE has graciously allowed me start wrestling again on any show that’s not taped for television or pay per view.

So with the negatives there also come positives. Before I got signed by WWE last October, I worked hard to bring new fans to independent wrestling. But with most of us having little national exposure the only thing we could do was wrestle our hearts out and hope for word of mouth. Now that I’ve appeared on WWE television in front of millions of new fans, things are different. My goal is to garner as much interest in independent wrestling over the next 90 days as I possibly can. I hope that some of the people who enjoyed watching me wrestle on TV will give independent companies such as Evolve, Dragon Gate USA and Ring of Honor a chance. I think most of you would enjoy the intimacy between the fans and the wrestlers and the intensity of the action; if you ask the fans who went to the Chikara or AIW shows I was on this weekend, I’m sure 99% of them had a great time. So if you’ve never been to an independent show, go ahead and dip your toes in... you might find that the water is pretty nice.

As far as what happens after 90 days, nobody knows. I’ve “heard” that TNA is interested. There are petitions going around to get me back into WWE and the last several weeks there have been fans chanting my names at their shows. People have even brought signs showing their support. And though most of the signs get taken away and though WWE may not be listening to your chants or petitions, I truly appreciate all the support over the last several weeks. It is both overwhelming and heartwarming. But regardless of what offers come in, I am in no rush to make any rash decisions. I enjoy my freedom as much as I enjoyed the benefits offered by being in WWE. My future, as usual, is uncertain. But I am enjoying my return to the independents. I’m hoping to see some of you there.

That was very cool.
How many times do we see someone get released and be as humble as Danielson has been about it? Not many. Watch any shoot interviews lately? And as we all know, if there is money to be made by bringing someone back (as there is with Danielson), Vince will do it in time. I just hope it's sooner than later.

While Vince McMahon informed Bryan Danielson he was being let go from World Wrestling Entertainment due to choking ring announcer Justin Roberts with a tie, some within the company believe spitting on John Cena was the real reason for his release.

McMahon hates spitting and has banned it in WWE’s rings for the past several years. In addition to spitting, McMahon greatly dislikes people smoking cigarettes and sneezing as it’s been noted that if someone near him sneezes, he will lash out at the guilty part for it.

On another note, it’s said to be guaranteed that Danielson didn’t spit on Cena without clearing it with him ahead of time.

I'm having images of WWE meetings wherein everybody is trying desperately to hold in sneezes.

Based on what Bryan has said since his release I gather that he was told he will be resigned as soon as everything blows over or he really doesn't give a shit about working for WWE or TNA anytime in the foreseeable future.

Any chance this is sort of a half-work, similar to what happened with Brian Pillman?

(pointless bump to trick people on the main page :shifty:)

You doubt it? That's exactly what happened. The tie incident has been all but forgotten by everyone.

I was joking...I just wanted to bump it so people on the first page thought he was released again

I wonder how many neck ties are gonna be at RAW tonight.

I know it would never happen but I would love to see most of the crowd swing ties around in the air when Danielson makes his way to the ring.

That would be a sight to see.

You know how some promotions have the fans throw streamers? Let the fans throw neck ties.

dunno where raw is tonight but if it is an ECW crowd you would probably see it.

I guess its in LA itself, same venue.

Apparently tonight, Raw is taking place from The Staples Center again.

VSG

Isn't that always the case that Raw the next night of a PPV is in the same place, if not the same building?

Droford

The last couple of Wrestlemanias that have been in big stadiums, they've held RAW the next night in that City's Arena, but I dont think its a standard practice with the rest of the PPVs. I guess they try and give Summerslam some importance. They should book Summerslam in a huge Stadium like Wrestlemania if they want to do that.

I thought it was always in the same State after a PPV, just in a different city.

That's what they did in Chikara when he was in Detroit after getting fired.

Not always, but usually within a 2 to 3-hour or so drive.
