Nina has been my main in Tekken since I started playing the series when Tekken 2 hit arcades, and that doesn't seem like it's going to change in this game. She seems like a blast to play, especially with her chain grabs being normal moves instead of just thrown into a super or cross art like I thought they would be. Though I do wish she had a second chain string to do. I think her jumping leg scissors, where she finishes with a string of moves on the ground would have translated well in this game.

Heihachi looks beastly. Was planning on making Heihachi one of my guys, and this just makes me more excited to try him.

I kind of think Steve Fox is going to be the Makoto of this game. Just seems like all his moves and combos are going to take a lot of practice to be used effectively. Fuck, I'm still struggling with Makoto in SSF4, so I dunno if I will want to take up another character like that.

I think Capcom missed a chance to put in remakes of classic stages from SF and Tekken. A redone version of Balrogs Las Vegas stage from SFII would have looked great, for example.

The only Tekken stages I can think of are the big grassy field with the palm trees, the top of a skyscraper at night and some machine heavy stage.

On the other side of the coin, it would be cool seeing 2D stages in 3D in TxSF. There was a video of Hondas bath house that someone remade in 3D but I can't find it on YouTube anymore.

Julia has always struck me as a very bland character, both in design, and fighting style. That said, her style does seem a bit more interesting to me in 2D than it does in 3D. I like the mix up options her wind roll and dash start ups give her. I'll definitely give her more of a chance in this game than I have in Tekken.

I'm betting that we will see a lot of Ravens online. Both because he has a "badass" design, and because he seems pretty beastly. He also seems like he will be pretty annoying to play against in skilled hands. Raven was never one of my mains, but I did still use him quite a bit in Tekken 5. For whatever reason, I've never really cared for the playstyles "Ninja" characters in 2D fighting games, outside of Vega. I know one thing though. Funky Fly's brother will pick Raven. He'll pick Ibuki WITH Raven. And I wil get very VERY annoyed.

This is the first video I've seen of Asuka where she isn't getting her ass kicked, and holy shit snacks does she have a lot of special moves. If the amount of options isn't too overwhelming for me, she might become one of my go to choices, because I like what I'm seeing. She kind of strikes me as a more grounded version of juri with all the different variations of kicks, ex wall bounce move, and low/overhead mix ups. And as a Juri, Dudley, and Gouken player, I'm very familiar with counter moves, so that's a big plus. In that tournament vid, they state that many of the tekken characters have these counter moves, and I think I'll take an immediate interest in any characters that have them. Well except for steve fox, since his seems to be pretty useless.

Kuma seems just as hard to use in this as he does in Tekken, but I want to play as him just for his facial expressions alone. I've been experimenting with grapplers as of late, since I find them easier to use with the arcade stick, and I think I'll find them even easier once I get my octagon gate. So Kuma is definitely a character I am looking forward to.

When this game was announced, one of the characters I anticipated the most was King, and they didn't disappoint here. He looks like an absolute blast to play as. No 360 motions is surprising to me, but certainly not in a bad way. He'll definitely be one of the first Tekken characters I put in time with.

Anyone who's spent time with me in SSF4 knows that I'll be using Juri in this. I think I'll feel right at home, from the looks of things. Her MK overhead is what it should have been in SSF4, so that's a big plus. I like the new cross up shes got now as well.

Ken and Ryu are Ken and Ryu. Nothing really unexpected in the vids. I'll probably take up Ryu.

Chun Li with circle motions? Yes please. Another one of my mains from SSF4, and another character I'll probably use quite a bit in SFxT

Chun Li gets charge moves changed to circle motions, and Abel gets circle motions changed to charge moves. Don't particularly like that, to be honest. Abel was my main in Vanilla SF4, but he's since fallen down the pecking order. I'll have to wait to see how useful the shoulder charge is, and how difficult the super art is to pull off, before I decide to use him. I do like that his anti air grab seems to be easier to combo into.

That's all the videos they have up, atm. Hopefully they do one for each character.

Music from a stage that is probably linked to the story. Normally, I'd hate getting stuff that could be story related spoiled but I saw this stage coming so it's not a big deal to me.

I'm thinking the SF cast should have received new target combos to coincide with the TK's cast of heavy pressure mix-up games. I'll say it right now, the TK cast by themselves present a better game than SF. I'll further say they're the best thing to happen to 2D since SNK's move-set philosophy (which is imo better than the SF series).

If Sakura's gonna work the way I think she will in this environment, you guys have seriously seen nothing yet. It'll just suck that I won't be able to use her until Vita's little exclusivity deal ends in a few months. With no 'Super/Ultimate' version of the game in sight, and quite of bit of extra content expected, they're probably gonna space DLC out for the long haul. The opportunity to have Cammy and Sakura on one team literally makes me hard.

Not that we'll do too many 1v1 matches, because me and Khuntry already decided we'll do 2v2 as the default game on/offline.

Hoping it's animated, be it anime or CGI.

Let's just forget the fact that there are 19 "new" characters from tekken to play as. I suppose they should have left Ryu and ChunLi out for Eagle and Maki.

Unless they start doing transgender specific storylines where Poison is harrassed by the other characters because of her gender or they start having her walk around without any pants on, the gender of the character isn't THAT important. Although being a MtF TG legally and, for the person = being female. So she's female either way.

I do like the idea that she's transgendered because it gives her a character besides the the usual catagories every female character falls into.

They're making Street Fighter Monopoly btw. Capcom Unity has a vote on which characters should be the play pieces. Why not just put all the SFII characters in? They're only tiny bits of plastic, I'm sure it wont cripple the budget.

Edit: I just saw Cool King mentioned it in the VG News thread. Damn.

Why does the official description call M.Bison "Major Bison"? I thought the M stood for "Master". I know it means Mike in Japan for our Balrog but I thought it meant Master for our Bison.

Yeah, I'd probably put up with the PS3 controller for this if I had a PS3. I find the 360 controller suits me better than the dual shock style for fighters. Definitely like that stick up top.

Same here. Remedied that by getting a stick for PS3. So hard to get used to, and I'm not doing myself any favors by playing SSF4 on 360 with a regular controller. Feel like the only way I'll get used to it is to play with the stick all the time, but that would mean buying one on 360 as well. Bullocks.

Probably going to switch the gate out for an octagon, because I kind of suck with the square gate. Great for charge characters, but doing circle motions is kind of a drag. Don't even get me started on 3D fighters.

SFxT props would be cool. They'd really just be animations like Shoryuken, Hadouken, Flash Kick etc. Unless they let us buy a giant servebot head for our Avatars to hide under, like the guy on the "Urban warzone" stage.

Actually a lot of avy animations are way better now. They have ninja stuff that are legit cool and pretty long. They have a Captain America Shield Alva should look into. And some vampire bat wings that's up your alley (I think).

And yeah, they should have SF animations.

I'd seen the newer animations but never bought any. I saw the Spiderman animation where you swing through a city and thought that was cool. I totally would have bought the Hulk animation if the Avatar didn't grow giant Hulk hands for it.

I saw the batwings. It looks weird seeing the Avatar "fly" or "run" and seeing he's clearing staying in the same spot. I'm not sure how the could make it look better.

I saw a video a couple days ago with Ken vs Hugo. Ken knocked down Hugo and, half way through Hugo getting up, Ken hit him with a fierce Shoryuken.
I'm really hoping we wont be able to be hit when we aren't even standing up. I've been playing a little Tekken 1 and that's one thing I'm really not into.

Speaking of Tekken, replaying Tekken 1 for the first time since I was 7 or 8 years old. The game isn't a real 3D fighter. It's a slow, clunky 2D fighter. I can't recall how 2 and 3 played exactly. Though I think I remember liking 3 the most.
As I said, I'm not a fan of being hit when I'm down. I think any game that lets a downed fighter be hit should also let the downed fighter hit back.

Genuinely laughed out loud when I read the back of the case, though.

Back then 30 frames per second was the shit, let alone 50. And in Tekken, downed fighters can hit back and some people have non-generic ground moves. You should look into Tekken 6. It sells for $10 new around here these days.

There are videos up for some street fighter characters but I am too lazy right now to post them. Just know that Sagat is going to be a beast again, and possibly one of the first to be dubbed "overpowered".

He's someone a lot of people like so they probably wont fix that. People only really complain when someone they don't play as is overpowered. Any other time, it's fair game.

It's a totally different game but I still point to Dante in MvC3 as an example. He has an answer for absolutely everything. He's fast, he's strong, he can take decent damage, shoots projectiles in every direction and some even home in and he can do really long combos. Everyone liked him so no one complained about it.
Meanwhile, because less people liked him, Sentinal was deemed "too strong" and had "too much health" and had to be weakened. Lets just ignore the fact that he was supposed to be the gigantic tank character of the roster and he was a huge target, even when ducking, plus he was hardly Sonic the Hedgehog when it came to speed.

Does Capcom own the rights to Karin? Apparently she was originally created in a fan manga or something. That could be why she hasn't shown up since alpha.

From some dude on gamefaqs who got it early.

Trials are your basic combo learning mode which starts off pretty easy but the last 4-5 of them get incredibly difficult due to needing to learn the exact frame to execute each hit for the combo to successfully connect. But, this is nothing new if you've come from SFIV.

Mission Mode simply has set win conditions such as winning with only normal attacks, or only specials etc. However, unlike some fighters which simply disable everything else 'but' normals in such a mission, mission mode here allows you full access to everything and it's entirely on you to prevent yourself from using the other attacks etc.

Mission Mode is highly gem dependant though and requires certain gem setups to be able to pass some of those missions. So you'll be switching your gem layouts often to get through them.

Interview with Ono at the launch party. I was right about Karin, it seems. ALEX ISN'T OWNED BY A MANGA ARTIST, LAST I CHECKED

1. More info on the 12 new characters will be revealed at Captivate in April.
2. There will be only one disc release of the game and updates will be via DLC. He said that, just like SSFIV and SSFIV: AE, there will be an option for those with the updated DLC version of the game to choose the older version so they can play with those people (If you have AE, you can choose to play just SSFIV vanilla). So, you still need the most updated version of the game to play with all the new features.
3. They chose Law over Fei Long because he was closer to Bruce Lee as a rip-off character.
4. One of the main reasons they have trouble getting Karin in the game is because her copyright belongs to a Manga artist. It doesn't mean they can't put her in, it just becomes really difficult contractually. He hints that if Harada does something *wink* *wink*, she might be in TxSF. Ono assures that he is not trolling with these statements, but they are true.
5. They had trouble implementing charge move characters into this game because of how aggressive it is, though they think they have been successful with the ones they have currently put in. Blanka, specifically, they have had troubles adapting him to this game and are still working on him.
6. They are going to be paying close attention to tournaments and the like so they can decide if the game needs an AE-type of balance update.
7. He says the PC version will be similar to the console, but he can't say anymore about it right now.
8. He bluntly says that you will NOT see Q in this game. "It's a dead horse."

I like the over acting of BBA Mega Man and Roll and that he seems to be spinelessly doing as he's told rather than argue with her. They should have saved that kind of character for a totally new SF character rather than a one time character like BBAMM.

A character that's convinced himself he's a super hero out to stop Shadowloo would have been stupid and cool.

Yeah, it works. It's just a pity we wont see the character again because it's Megaman.

I've actually seen a couple of things in the SFxT videos that I'd have like to have seen in a normal SF game. Steves weaving and ducking would have been cool for a SF character and I hope they use the idea they had with certain moves in SFxT, in SF5. For example, when you are doing Kings Super, you can either let the animation run through or press, I think, H.Punch and he ends it with a slightly better move.
I don't know what other moves have that ability and if it's just a King thing, a Tekken character thing or if almost anyone can do it.

Actually developing the Tekken characters has given Capcom some ideas for future SF games. They're just more open in general. I suspect we will see SFxT moveset philosophies in SF5 (or a new IP altogether).

Not sure if its been discussed so far but the exclusive BBAMM and Pac-Man characters the PS3 and Vita are getting are not on the disc but instead just a free DLC pack. It won't arrive until March 13 or almost a week after the launch of the game so its not Day 1 DLC either.

God I know. No midnight release here, so I'm getting up at 5 am to get it it as soon as the store opens at 6.

Also, just a heads up. During the Cross Assault commentary, Seth Killian said the best thing to do, to get used to the new fighting engine is to start out with Tekken characters, so you don't habitually fall into any SF4 strategies which won't do you much good here.

I personally don't even plan on touching the SF cast for a while. Not because of what Seth said, but more because I'm just so damn excited to try the Tekken cast out.

They said they wouldn't make a new disc release, they never said they wouldn't have a "Super" version. If Marvel can get an "upgrade", so can SFxT.

The 12 Vita characters coming to consoles can't be the "Super" version because that would mean the Vita skipping SFxT and getting SSFxT right away.

I'm thinking, if they do do a "Super" version, the characters they'll add will be the ones missing from the roster that we see in the crossover costumes. El Fuerte, Iron King, Charlie, Sodom, Dee Jay, Gill etc.

They can avoid having characters like Iron King being a clone because the Tekken characters don't have all their moves in SFxT so, the moves King doesn't have in the game can be given to Iron King.

4 matches into arcade mode and haven't fought against anyone Tekken yet. That's nice. ROFL at Zangief and Rofus' entrance though.

Nah, it's not because it's not out yet unless they have a second day 1 patch out. P2P gameplay is all to do with netcode on the disc and not to do with infrastructure, so it will need patching as this is a retail disc.

I'll play, but I I'm not sure if I like it yet. Far too aggressive compared to TE more tactical SF4.

I've not tried it, but looking at the options, I think you can. The caveat to that being that both controllers need to be signed into XBox Live Gold accounts.

Yeah that is one of the big gripes I have with Xbox Live when it comes to online co-op on the same console.

Out of the games I own for it, only Halo Reach and ODST allow online from a single gold account but even then everyone else is restricted to a guest account.

Obviously, on-disc content causing an absolute shit storm everywhere. I had this to say to the whiners.

If you feel like the release content is worth 60 dollars, then buy it. If you don't, then don't buy it.

If you feel like the dlc is worth whatever they charge, then buy it. If you don't, then don't buy it.

I don't give a flying **** what Capcom does, because calling a large corporation out on being shady, is like calling double dribble on a mentally handicapped 3 year old. It's the world we live in, and it won't change in our lifetimes. Deal with it.

All I care about is "What is this product worth to me?" If it's worth what they are charging, then I am more than happy to give them my money for it, on-disc or not.

All the gameplay videos have been taken down by Capcom. They can't say they didn't think this would happen. If you lock content on a disc, someone will find it.

If they wanted to avoid this, they should have had the actual DLC be the characters moves and not just a key, so the disc just had the DLC models and sounds. People can't use a character early if they don't have their moves on the disc.

The worst by-product of all this DLC madness is that no matter how douchey a company, they still seemed to pack as much content on the disc as they could to make you want to spend the cash on the game.

Now they lock things out for no other reason than they expect your money up front and some more down the line. In the same week, we have the Mass Effect 3 madness where any product you now buy in the real world has some type of DLC code.

I'm beginning to think that no game is worth £40/$60 anymore.

I think it sort of evens out a little. Games have been £40 for as long as I can remember while everything else in the high street is getting more and more expensive as time goes on. The only way they could really keep games at that price while everything else is rising is to have some content held back.

I think the DLC thing makes it a little easier to digest financially. I'd rather spend £40 on a game and then have optional stuff for an extra £3 every couple of months than spend, say, £60 or £70 to have everything on the disc available right away.
Even if it still totals £70 after buying the DLC, it's better to have that extra £30 stretch over 6 or 12 months than pay it all in one go at the shop, when I buy the game.

I think that's about how much they'd have to charge if they didn't make things DLC and had to keep up with the rising price of everything else.

A: Princess Karin is on a submarine trip and hasn't returned yet. Maybe she is training at the bottom of the sea? It seems like C. Viper and Lauren (her daughter) went on a trip together. No, I wonder if it's an undercover job?

Q: "If there was a character like this, it might make the character choices more interesting". This kind of question I think is allowable. However, recently I hear many statements like "I am not going to buy this game because my favorite character is not on the roster". How do you answer to that? I think that picking a good character out of the announced roster is the current form of fighting games.
A: People have many different impressions on video games, so I think it's important for the game creator to think "This is how the game is going to be." So for people who say, "I hate this game because my favorite character is not there! Can you put in my favorite character!" we will try hard to better answer this question in the future!


Q: I really want to know who the Japanese voice actors are for Law and Paul....
A: Paul's voice actor is Yamamoto Kanehira and Law's voice actor is Fujii Keisuke.

Q: You should have made the time freeze when Pandora Mode activates.
A: Pandora activation = opponent running away...this kind of plan is obviously already being used. I don't know if you can combo into Pandora, but as a comeback mechanic, its time limit is small and even though you have infinite meter against a running opponent is hard to hit. If you activate Pandora without thinking you are not even using half of its effectiveness. You can intertwine Pandora in a combo so please go test it out.

Q: I want to pre-order pretty soon, please give me all the information.

A: You face the direction of the closest opponent. Even though your brain knows that when you play scramble battle it gets very overwhelming and while you are guarding you become disorientated.

Q: Can I please have tanned Sakura! I like her that way and if it becomes reality I would be very happy. I am also thinking of the possible character tag teams for the added characters in the Vita version. Thank you very much!
A: Sun tanned Sakura....! Man these requests are kind of getting crazy. Well SFxT has color customization so hopefully they add your tanned color.

Q: Is there a camera mode that allows you to look at the battle in different angles? At the homepage there was many still images and I wanted to do that myself. If you allow users to create interesting still images and put them on the internet I think it might boost the sales of the game. What do you think?
A: You can't during the battle, but in color customization you can zoom and change the angles. Please enjoy the details that were hard to see before.

Q: Instead of using cross art is it not better to put more effort into change combos because the damage is greater. This makes the cross art a little less useful (^ ^; However, I can see someone finding a combo with Pandora mixed in doing 70 - 80 %, that scares me... It's only a matter of time before someone finds an instant death combo.
A: Is it better to do cross art or cancel change that's something to think about. If you have 3 meter blocks it might be safer to do cross art. Depending on the conditions if an instant death (infinite combos) were found we might have to think of balance changes.

Q: Since SFxT is basically finished, next can you makes an online mode for Capcom vs SNK 2. Thank you!
A: Well, it's just the beginning for SFxT!

Q: In SFxT I want a stage like a New York Times Square stage or something that gives the feeling of a "street fight".

I voted for Go Hibiki because he seems like an interesting character with an interesting story. Threw some pity votes for the original Street Fighter guys too but I don't think it will matter in the end. And I don't remember who I voted for on Tekken side.

There is a ladder system in the Cockface Challenge. Hasney is first and probably the easiest. You'll obviously be the boss and you'll be "Cockface VI" or around that number.

So, apparantly, GAME and Gamestation wont be stocking SFxT or Asuras Wrath. They aren't sure if they'll get Operation Racoon City either. Oddly, they still advertise all those games on their site.

I've sent an email to them to see if it's true but, either way, I've cancelled my pre order after finding the LE on Amazon for £42.99. £7 cheaper than GAME had it listed.

:wtf: I thought they start showing up about a month after the game is released with about 1 pack per month.

I know Pac-Man and BBAMM arrive 1 week after the game is released for the PS3.

Went back to find the post about all the stuff that was leaked and yeup Capcom did change their plans for the character DLC. Originally they were planning for 1 pack per month which would have lead up to the Vita release. Either they changed it after realizing those Vita exclusive's were not really exclusives or the backlash about that made them rethink the character packs.

That may be the Tekken character's combo style as well as the Crush Rush mechanic, right? Using EX, Link and tag cancels during Cross Rush should make things more interesting. Have you experimented with those?

Yeah, Tekken characters use mostly chain combos, whereas Street Fighters retain most of their links.

Can already pretty much boost as Sagat, Ibuki with an LP into ant-air and if I have meter, cross-rush that with Tiger uppercut. Over 1/4 of their life bar gone and they just watch for 10 seconds with no comeback.

I dunno, for everything the new MK did right, it was the overly-simplistic combos that killed it for me. This is doing the same. You cannot fail these combos, the window is huge.

You're not thinking of the extra stuff I mentioned, as well as the metagame to get to those combos.

You on XBL, right? I can show you how much more open it is if we can play together. What you speak of is the basic combo system for the majority, it does get trickier (especially the Tekken cast and their moves).

Her running dash to three separate arm-breakers is pretty cool as I think it can dodge projectiles. Only issue is that the arm-breakers need pixel-perfect timing it seems, although I only pissed about with her in training mode.

I get all of what you're saying Kalyx and it is an interesting mechanic, but it's really not my style. I love nothing more in SF4 than having a nice tactical game of area management with Ibuki, laying traps for them to think I'm cornered and things like that.

You can do that to an extent, but unless you play aggressive and are as up in their grill as you possibly can be, you don't take off much more than slivers of energy.

I'll give it a shot though. If I start enjoying it enough, I'll grab the PC one as well.

I dig aggressive, so I think I'll enjoy this. As long as it's not as bugfuck chaotic as MvC3.

It can feel chaotic with the mad camera changes on throws and launchers, but defo not MvC3 levels.

You can tell the guys that are playing that mainly play Tekken too, just have no idea about wakeup priority.

Fuck, I was worried that the timing would be so tight, that it would make the move unreliable, at least for me.

Svensson: It will not be patched and apologies for the manual inclusion. Seems it was an oversight. The difference has to do with how Xbox Live differs from how it handles online and offline accounts.

According to the team:

"PS3 version: It is possible to mix and match online and offline players for scramble battles and pair play battles. Two local players can play on the same PS3 using 1 PSN ID, and play against other players online.

360 version: It is NOT possible to mix and match online and offline players for scramble battles and pair play battles. So you either have to have all players be offline and local (so 4 players, 1 Xbox) or have all the players be online (4 players, 4 Xboxes)."

The reason for this difference is because of the architecture differences between gamertags and PSN IDs. I’m not sure of the technical details, but basically it amounts to: Sony made it so you can mix and match online and offline, and Microsoft made it so you can’t.

Sounds like crap to me. I'm pretty sure other games let two players on one console play with two players on another console. I've never played the latest MK but I've read that it let's you do just that on 360.
I'm going to be overly paranoid and say it seems like either Capcom are stupid, lazy or were paid by Sony, in the exclusives deal, to make the PS3 version five stars and to let the 360 version have subtle disadvantages.

Yeah, Left 4 Dead lets 2 players on one gamertag.

You might find a workaround like there is on FIFA, sign both players in on Gold and invite the other one into your co-op game, see if that works.

Still, it's false advertisement to say "This feature is in this version of the game" all through development and then, after it's US launch, it turns out it's not.
Not once did they say the 360 version couldn't do it.

Someone else said that blaming Microsoft for the problem when it's not MS's problem could be considered slanderous.

We had some lobbies today and while the lag was present, it was playable. I'd say just a notch below SSF4 on average - I wonder if 4plyrs fighting factors into that. Hopefully it will smooth out because this game super fun hype juice.

The sound issue better be fixed soon because that shit is bizarre.

The Tekken characters are beastly.

The forward roll changes things a bit but people adjusted fairly fucking quickly.

This crap with the neutral jump needs to be fixed, I thought it was me but other people mentioned it.

I like Jin. Unexpected.

When trying to jump forward or back you jump straight up instead. The game isn't reading 7/9 inputs well and you have to really lean in (on thumbstick) to get the directional jump. Pads are fine since they're literal 8-directions so I guess it's the analog input. Very annoying.

So, after all the fans have been telling Capcom that their excuse is a heap of crap and the endless list of games that did couch co-op online on the 360 (I pointed out that I thought TMNT Arcade did it 5 years ago on XBLA.) Svenson, the guy that talks to the fans for Capcom, updated his statement.

Svensson: I'm going to be looking into this issue further btw. I'm also a bit confused by the feedback from the team.

So, after the complaint, maybe it'll suddenly become fixable.

2nd match I won, I won the first round with a perfect and second convincingly and just got a barrage of emails that said "omg retard". Hooray for online play!

Most of the times on the PC of SSF4:AE I got accusations of cheating for using a stick instead of a keyboard.

ME: T. Hawk takes the round with GUSTO. It's almost like he could see his opponent's moves before they happened!

I've had this game 24 hours and still haven't played a match yet. We had a Mass Effect 3 release yesterday and I volunteered my 360. Just dicked around in training before I passed out.

So into Jin and Asuka's Tekken stuff I forget I'm playing essentially an alternate SF game, and people are jumping in like mad and I'm doing nothing about it. Far cry from my well timed anti-air low fierce punches from my SF4 days. Gotta respect the complete game here.

In addition to that, Seth Killian said that they actually nerfed ant--air gameplay to encourage jumping in more often.

King is fun, but he's got so many different grabs and special moves that I kind of get lost and forget things. I can see the same thing happening with Asuka. Will get better with training, but at the moment I get destroyed with King. Messing around with Julia, and I like what I see. Bob too.

Biggest things that are keeping this game from being truly great is the netcode and lack of an infinite timer.

Way too many time over finishes. The lag isn't too bad, but in a game like this it can totally screw up your timing. Especially when you've spent the last 20 minutes in training mode. I blow so many combo opportunities because the game is a split second behind what I'm used to in the lab.

If they can fix those two things I would put it above SSF4, but at the moment, it's #2 in my book.

He's like Ibuki, in that he has so many different ways to come at you. Pretty nasty mix up game too. Maybe if I use him a bit, I'll get used to him a little more.

Heihachi and Juri is my go to team right now, though I'm starting to get fairly good with Julia and Nina.

I've had a thought about that. A fair few people have said that about the music.
Maybe Capcom has made the music purposely less than fantastic because they plan to sell alternate music as DLC?
SFIII had music DLC so I don't think it's too far fetched to think they might do it again.

Also, Capcom are supposedly releasing "Quick Combos" as DLC. According to some guy on GameFAQs that has a link to Shoryuken that I didn't read.

I doubt they made 'bad' music with intent to sell. If there was only 4 stage tracks then I'd wonder about music DLC, but this is a case of subjectivity. Somebody out there may love the soundtrack for instance.

Yeah, there's going to be DLC combos. Like the CPU DLC on Marvel, the jokes on whoever actually gets it.

I said this about SF4 and I'll say it again, modifiers for online lobbies would be a great idea for any fighting game.

You could disable gems, supers, cross arts, tagging. Would be pretty neat, I think.

Yeah, but given how the damage is upped, battles won't last long. That's the reason I dislike it. Same as MvC3. Get tagged with a couple of easy combos and there's 3/4 of your health gone. Except here, you don't lose a character, you lose the round.
