We've played a tough schedule so far so to have this record we've gotta be thinking positive. A couple wins slipped out of our grasp but we can get those back over the long season. We're good.

So, how bad are the Nuggets going to beat the Knicks tonight? I am thinking 105-86. Carmelo will have 35 points. What do you think?

Emperor Smeat
11-16-2010, 08:42 PM
At least 10 "Melo" chants similar to when Kobe or Lebron was there when both wanted or thought about leaving their teams.

If the Knicks win tonight it is proof that Turiaf is the teams MVP.

Tied at the end of the quarter. I say that is a win.

Dragon
11-16-2010, 09:59 PM
1-15 from 3 and showing no signs of stopping.

The only offensive play the Knicks have is to perch 4 guys behind the 3 on every single play and keep shooting no matter how bad the shot is.

Loose Cannon
11-16-2010, 10:03 PM
fucking terrible.

Loose Cannon
11-16-2010, 10:13 PM
They play no defense. Felton cannot get the ball to Amare on the pick and roll. Chandler thinks he is Reggie Miller shooting all these threes.

I was never a fan of the D'Antoni signing as coach, nor the Gallo pick. Ironically, I wanted Avery Johnson and Brook Lopez. Avery teaches defense and it is always good to have a good center.

The front office is just awful. Their scouts are terrible as well.

2006: 21st Pick - Renaldo Balkman (Rajon Rondo was picked with the next pick.)
2008: 6th Pick - Danilo Gallinari (Eric Gordon Picked next pick, Brook Lopez 4 picks later.)
2009: 8th Pick - Jordan Hill (Brandon Jennings picked 2 picks later.)

In 2009, they basically chose Toney Douglas over Brandon Jennings because later in the draft they picked Douglas.

They would have had a great core with either Rondo or Jennings next to Lopez. I know it may have not played out that way, but just looking at it. They are just inept.

yea, makes me sick. they missed out on Curry by a pick in 09 as well.

The Knicks keep getting worse somehow. I dont get it.

It is the coach 100%. He needs to go. They need a new philosophy in there and, in my opinion, a guy with fire. D'Antoni seems very laid back. I think they need a screamer as the coach. Keep all the players on edge.

Hornets and Raptors involved in 5 player deal.

Hornets get:
Jarrett Jack, David Andersen and Marcus Banks

Raptors get:
Peja Stojakovic and Jerryd Bayless

ESPN said the deal would have been done a day or so earlier but it took a while for the Hornets to balance the cash needed to go to the Raptors and will actually occur as 2 trades to be approved by Stern. Hornets also did the deal more for escaping the luxury tax penalty more than improving the team.

 ESPN NBA Pregame report about the Heat said how the team just realized they can't just cake-walk to 70 wins and actually need to show some effort and determination to win.

Heat coach is going to get fired regardless of their record since Riley only said how the coach has his job just for now and not guaranteed for the season. Riley is also pissed at the laziness of the team since it makes him look bad for the deal.

Knicks want to add spectator bridges or walkways above the court as part of the renovations for Madison Square Garden.

Their idea is to use the bridges similar to how Fenway Park has the Green Monster seats as a tourist attraction to the stadium than any real practical reasons.

The bridges most likely won't be an enclosed or glass walkway to protect people from falling or tossing stuff onto the floor.

Whole renovations is going to cost more than if they were to just build a new stadium ($700 - $800 million).

Cavs were always bad at shooting, they just had Lebron to hide the fact they were a pretty streaky team in terms of scoring and shots. Cavs tried everything to help Lebron but the team itself was always streaky with shooting.

Same with the Heat right now being disorganized since the team just expects either Lebron or Wade to take over with the game.

I dont know who I had an argument with a couple months back about contraction in the NBA, and the NBA being watered down, but I don't see how anyone couldn't be in favour of contraction, unless you're from Sacramento or Indiana. 15 of the 30 teams are under .500. 12 teams have a winning perctentage below .400, and somehow one of them is in a playoff spot. The gap between the haves, and have-nots is ridiculous. There are too many teams and far too many roster spots avaliable for players who shouldn't even be in the NBA. When comparedto leagues like the NHL and especially the NFL, there are far fewer competetive teams. Contraction can't come soon enough, and they really need to fuck off with this talk of expanding to Europe, there are enough shitty teams in the NBA.

Kobe Bryant voted best player in the NBA

Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was named the best player in the NBA, ahead of Heat forward LeBron James, in Sporting News’ annual survey of current and former players, coaches, general managers and broadcasters.

SN asked 76 NBA types, including Elgin Baylor, Bob Cousy, Mike D’Antoni, Mike Fratello, Daryl Morey, Lenny Wilkens, Doc Rivers and Stan Van Gundy, to list the top 50 players in the league. Bryant received 49 of their first-place votes to maintain his spot atop the list, while James had 22 first-place votes and Magic center Dwight Howard received one.

The jump by Durant is huge in the poll and no doubt he's going to top one of these lists within 2-3 years.

Meanwhile, the NBA might pull a "MLB" plan and buy the Hornets until they either find a new buyer or based on some rumors, move them or another team (Memphis, Charlotte, Toronto) to Seattle.

That is retarded, the NBA would never move The Raptors, more importantly MLSE would never move them, and according to MLSE they aren't for sale. Seriously, do a little research and don't just name under performing teams. Toronto does very well in attendance, makes money, unlike a half dozen other teams that would move first.

That is what I was hearing from rumors of a potential list but NBA wouldn't actually move Toronto when Stern said his goal was to expand more teams outside the US.

Some lists had Minnesota and Clippers as teams but then you'd be taking out too many West teams and have to restructure the divisions to make up for the loss.

Raptors are one of the teams in the NBA that actually makes money, which is even more impressive when you think about what the fans have to watch and cheer for.

Knicks 4 games over .500 for the first time since the 2000-2001 season.

Schedule gets brutal though. During this recent stretch they've been beating the teams they should be, gonna be interesting to see how they actually play against some good teams though.

The rest of December they face some better teams in Denver, Boston, Miami (2), OK, Chicago and Orlando.

Nike announced this week that three NBA stars will be wearing special shoes on Christmas Day. The cheapest of the three is Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant's Zoom KD III, which has a suggested retail price of $88 primarily because Durant doesn't want a super expensive shoe.

The others that also will hit the stores Sunday are James' LeBron 8 V/2, which has a suggested price of $160, and Bryant's Zoom Kobe VI, which retails for $130. So the natural question is: Why in the heck does the Miami star's shoe sell for $30 more?

"Yeah, it's a better shoe,'' James said Friday after a practice at UCLA on the eve of Miami's Christmas Day battle with Bryant's Lakers at the Staples Center. "But we're all one Nike family.''

So why is it a better shoe?

"Because it is,'' James said. "Because it's LeBron's shoe. It's got my name on it. I take pride in my shoes every year and I've always taken pride in having the best shoe. So they're going to cost a little more if you decide to wear them.''

As to what Bryant thinks of this shoe battle, it's unclear. He declined to talk to the media Friday for the third straight time after his ejection late in last Tuesday's 98-79 home loss to Milwaukee. The guard didn't talk after that game nor after a Thursday practice, which followed the Lakers being off Wednesday.
