I started watching Boardwalk Empire a couple days ago. I stopped watching midway through Season 3 when it was on. Decided to begin at the start of Season 3. I forgot how great this show was. I don't know why I stopped in the first place.

I'm on to season 4 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

To say it is an animated series, therefore I assume it is/was aimed at kids, it is a surprisingly dark show, and also superior to any of the live-action films (save Rogue One) of recent times.

I'm also around 3 episodes into Nip/Tuck; it is decent enough so far for me to stick with it and see how it develops.

I'm waiting until all the Loki episodes are out before I watch that bad boy.

Finished season 2 of the alienist. Loved it. Not quite as strong as the first season, but fun nonetheless. The focus shifted more to Dakota Fanning leading the charge and it was a welcome change.

Onto my next show, Perry Mason.

Mythic Quest is easily the funniest original show on any streaming service right now.
It’s brilliantly paced so that by the end of season one you love the characters so much that the specials give you a perfect exhale.
Season 2 begins like any superior comedy should, with minor changes!

Anyone who wants to see a polished piece of woke-bait will enjoy it for its use of Rob McElhenney. A master stroke.

Just finished Star Wars: Clone Wars. The final four episodes of season 7 are so awesome. If everything in the Star War Universe was like those episodes, it would be so damn epic.

I feel I should rewatch the prequel trilogy, but I know I'll only be disappointed, especially once I to the cringe that is the Anakin/Padme scenes in Episode 2.

I think a series on the criminal underworld of the SW universe would be pretty interesting; I don't know if they are going to touch on that with The Book of Boba Fett, but a series on Darth Maul as a crime lord would be great. I think they would have gone down that root if Solo had been successful, but we'll never know.

I'm going to move on to Star Wars: Rebels, though I may give myself a break for awhile. I'm still in the early stages of season 2 of Nip/Tuck, and I'm going to start the final season of Bosch tomorrow.

Found myself watching clips of Buffy earlier today; damn, it is still good stuff 20+ years on. Granted, it seems to have been confirmed as of late that Joss Whedon is a piece of shit, but there is no denying how good the Buff was back in the day. I think I'll be re-watching that show.

I’m on the 5th episode of Season 2 of King of the Hill and I am amazed at how many crimes Hank Hill has already committed. Assault, menacing, vandalism, drug possession, curfew violation, trespassing, providing a minor with cigarettes, harming an endangered species, threatening a child protective services worker. This guy is a clear danger to society.

Just started the new Leverage. One episode in, and it almost feels like the gang never left. Even writing around the elephant in the room absence of Nate was handled as a charming plot point (as opposed to a heavy handed "Timothy Hutton? Never heard of him" manner). About my only complaint thus far is Noah Wyle's on-again, off-again Louisiana accent. But it's a very small thing. We'll see how the rest of it goes.

Just learned this is a thing! Love this damn show. DAMNIT HARDISON!!

My only nitpick is Noah's sometimey southern accent. He's a better actor than that, c'mon man!

Also sucks that Timothy Hutton got Me Too'd. Great he's cleared of the alligation, but way too late to get back in on this, but that was written around and even adds a major plot driving device.

Here's hoping Sterling makes an appearance.

Also, Elliot apparently has a type: dark, dusky women of dubious ethnicity who can potentially kick his ass/kill him.

So, I just watched Masters of the Universe: Revolations and have zero idea why a bunch of manbabies exploded mounds of vitriol all over this. I rather enjoyed it, and look foward to the rest of it (since it is only chapter 1, after all). The way it's written seems akin to the Transformers miniseries(es..? More than one) that filled the gap between the Cybertonian Wars and The Autobots crash landing on Earth in The Ark at the beginning of the 80s cartoon.

The only thing I'm unclear on is if in this canon, the 2002 series is also included or not. There is nothing specifically contradictory outside of King Grayskull being a black dude in this one, but he's even DRESSED the same as his appearance in 2002. I mean, Kev went out the way to have Skeletor specifically drop some Langella lines from the Live Action movie, but that was more easter egg than trying to world build. I just want to know if this is going to take a hard left turn and re-establish The Snake Men or something.

I will say, though, the casting is a complete **chef's kiss** and you couldn't have cast a more appropriate Evil-Lyn.

Also, there's a body count here. Like, on the level of Transformers:The Movie, so there's another comparison I just made to one of other big 80s toy franchises that ruled weekday afternoons (or Saturday morning depending where you lived).

Also, in the back of my mind, I wonder if this is going to end up tying into She-Ra. Especially with this whole concept of a "champion".

At any rate, I like it, and I don't get why dudes are blowing a gasket over it. Strikes me as the same people who are butthurt over The Cleveland Guardians.

For example:

I just watched a girl who had previously been barfing up baby kittens that grow up in a couple days and whose blood gives people spiritual powers instead form some kind of strange neovagina on her side just below her ribcage which she then kinda fingered until she was clearly horny and then birthed one of the kittens from it instead onto the bathroom floor. A few minutes later a Biker zombie comes in to retrieve the kitten for this lady who is some kind of crazy ass DMT witch. Immediately after the biker leaves the girl gets the guy who is with her to fucking fist her new neovagina, before mounting and riding him while he continues to fist her nearly elbow deep.

I just finished watching a series from the 1980s: The Jewel in the Crown. It is a great piece of television; the acting is slightly dated, as TV has moved on, but still, a fantastic story. It is set in India during WW2, so you have that and the rising nationalist movement and then partition as a back-drop, but the story revolves around the rape of an English woman and the torture and subsequent false imprisonment of her Indian lover, and how those events reverberate in the lives of a set of other characters, most of whom don't know or ever meet the woman or her lover. It also doesn't shy away from the prejudices and bigotry of the period, both between the English classes and between the colonials and the Indians, but not in the preachy or ham-fisted way that things are done these days. It is a series that does not come along very often; it is up there with Brideshead Revisited as far as rare quality 80s television goes.

Edge of Darkness is on Amazon; can buy it for £5.99. Depending on how much food money I have unspent next Friday, I'll probably buy it.

I wouldn't mind watching the TV adaptation of Vera Brittain's Testament of Youth, from 1979, but it is not available online, at least I haven't seen it anywhere. The film with Alicia Vikander and Kit Harrington, from 2014/15, is just naff; no 2-hour film can do that book justice, as there is just too much to cover.

Just finished The White Queen, which is a 10-episode BBC series about the War of the Roses, from the perspectives of Elizabeth Grey, Margaret Beaufort, Anne Neville, and Elizabeth of York (learn your English history, you savages). It is pretty standard fare from the BBC; it suffers from me just having watched The Jewel in the Crown, which is awesome. Rebecca Ferguson does get her baps out on numerous occasions, though, so there is that.

I'm on to the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As much as I loved the series back in the diz-zay, the quality of the show dropped off immensely after season 3. I just want to get it finished at this point and move on to something else.

I'm also on to season 3 of my re-watch of 30 Rock.

I've just finished Wolf Hall, which is a BBC drama from around 5-6 years ago that revolves around the rise and fall of Anne Boleyn. It is a well-known and often told story, but it was interesting to see it from the perspective of Thomas Cromwell, and Mark Rylance does a great job in that role. It is a fairly sombre show, but instead of pushing you away as a result, it kind of pulls you in.

I've watched a couple of somewhat-old series as of late.

I recently watched the first two seasons of the old ITV sci-fi, Primeval (I believe there was an American version of it as well). As it is around 15 years old, the graphics don't particularly hold-up, but solid enough. Sadly, the other seasons are not on the Brit-box channel, so I'll have to wait until they are to watch them.

I have also just finished the two seasons of The Forsyte Saga (2002). It is kind of like Downton Abbey, but instead of revolving around an aristocratic family, it centres around a upper-middle class family instead. Actually, it is far superior to Downton, mostly thanks to Damien Lewis.

I'm coming to the end of season 5 of 30 Rock as well.

I need to decide what series I'm going to watch next. I've watched a couple of episodes from the original Magnum P.I. series, and I'll probably continue with that. Season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead is now on Prime, so I may watch that, though I don't feel particularly inclined to return to TWD universe; that time has kind of past now.

Absolutely loved Squid Game. It's not often I ever find a show that I want to binge like that but I just got hooked and couldn't wait to see where it went next. Major spoilers ahoy:

Episode 6, as everyone said, was absolutely devastating. I genuinely gasped at the announcement that you'd be playing your partner with the loser being eliminated. It's something I should've expected but for whatever reason I didn't. And I then spent the entire episode cringing watching each individual game unfold. Ali's ending just about brought me to tears, he was much too trusting for that game.

The contrast of Gi-hun and Sang-woo's cheating. Gi-hun feeling riddled with guilt the entire time and Sang-woo being relatively stone faced knowing he did what he had to do. But it also makes you face some cold introspection because no matter how much you don't want to admit it, you'd have probably done the same thing in their shoes. I mean it's that or take a bullet to the brain.

I knew very early on that the cop's brother was involved in the games in some capacity, I just didn't know if he was a random soldier or whatever. Once the files showed he won I thought he could be the Front Man.

But 001...fuck. In the first few episodes I did have a passing thought that he could be involved. There were little things, he gleefully played the first game and seemed unphased by everyone dying. The voting system ensured he'd vote last. Him managing to be the only one to get to a safe place during the night battle and the carnage only stopping when he called for it. But I thought I was overthinking it. By the time episode 6 came around the thought never crossed my mind. Even his death not being shown didn't raise a red flag to me because Ali got popped off-camera too.

I've just finished watching the four seasons of Cadfael. It is a mid-1990s detective series, set in the C12th and revolves around the sleuthing of a Benedictine monk, Brother Cadfael, played by Derek Jacobi. I've seen some of it over the years, but until now I don't think I'd ever seen an episode all the way through. Derek Jacobi is fantastic in it, and it has surprisingly high production value for a mid-90s UK television series. If you like "whodunnits" with a difference, try it out.

I'm on to the final series of 30 Rock. I think I've enjoyed the show more the second time round. As like a lot of series, particularly comedy series, the quality dips after the third series, but it remains consistently high. Though, my attraction to Tina Fey might be clouding my judgement.

I'm two episodes into the Amazon series, Leonardo, which is based on Leonardo Da Vinci. I like it so far; the only weak aspect is the chap who played Norman Bates in Bates Motel, but he is not in it much.

Been watching Tom Lasso (via illicit means). It's a fucking shame it's on Apple+, because this deserves more recognition while simultaneously not giving Apple more goddamn money.

Much like Brockmire, it took a one-off sports joke and became an entire universe unto itself. It's written well, the song choices are very deliberate, and *nearly* every character is a whole person (except maybe Rupert) with their flaws and charms.

And Roy Kent is the fucking best.

Also, a joke that isn't really a joke unless you know about it, the series starts with a Division 2 championship win by the Wichita State football team. Problem is, Wichita State hasn't had a football team in decades. And with both the influx of alumni money (read: Koch Brothers) and how much they usually rake in from both basketball and, surprisingly, baseball, that's not likely to change anytime soon. They're like to polar opposite of Marshall with that decision.

Season 2 sucked after 3 episodes.... are you telling me to watch it again, Tom?

I feel like Sudeikis is having a mid-life crisis with this show. It’s like tea with ten sugars

Finished rewatching the two seasons of Rome. A marvellous show, which would have been much better if they had allowed it to run for the 4-5 seasons as originally intended. The second season is a bit of a mess and rushed, as they tried to cram in stories from the other seasons that didn't go ahead. Shame.

I'm into the second half of Foundation, as suggested by Seanny of the One True Ball. I'm enjoying it, but the show is fairly run of the mill; it's no The Expanse.

Funnily enough I gave up on Foundation for being a bit too soap-opera-in-space for my liking. It looked tits after the opening episode but it went a bit too heavy on the extra plot lines.
Asimov reads like an encyclopaedia entry, even in dialogue. The show should have presented it as such. It should be like a serious “Hitchhiker’s Guide”, that’s the only way to do it.

I am going to give The Expanse a proper go someday. I just need to find something to matinee it with. Seems like a lot to get through...

The only really weak thing in this new season of Dexter is the presence of Ghost-Deb.
That fucking face just ruins everything. Always getting angry and never twenty seconds away from crying like a fuckwit. She was never a great addition so I have no idea why they decided that a dead and somehow even more neurotic version was necessary...

Want to watch Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas..... but alas it is on "The Roku Channel" (where it will fail miserably because who has that?).... can't even find it anywhere online....

Just finished watching it.... shame at not being able to see some of these stories play out over the course of a season 3 instead of jammed into a movie.... was still enjoyable and good to see them back at all. Too bad that very few people will get to see it....

Started watching “Channel Zero” because I was in the mood for a more legitimate horror and I can’t keep going back to AHS when all it does is lead me to disappointment.
First episode is good...very tense and seemingly has roots in rational fears. Hopefully if it gets weird it goes big.

Paul Schneider was a great choice for this.

Channel Zero >>>>>>>>AHS

The first season is good, but probably the weakest of the bunch.

Also, I've watched a few episodes of creepshow on shudder and it's pretty great. One off episodes, like tales from the crypt.

Finished watching the short-lived BBC series, Banished, which is a drama set at the Botany Bay penal colony. I don't tend to be the biggest fan of BBC dramas, though I've watched a number of them as of late, but I found it rather watchable. Sadly, it was cancelled after 1 season.

I've been occasionally watching episodes from another BBC series, Ripper Street, which is a Victorian detective series set in Whitechapel (London), and centres around a detective haunted by his inability to catch Jack the Ripper. I can't decide whether I like it or not; waiting for it to grab me.

I need to find something to watch that will tide me over until the new series of The Witcher and The Expanse are out.

I finished “No End House” from Channel Zero last night. It was pretty good but I think the soundtrack is way too similar to AHS and the John Carrol Lynch connection makes it seem deliberate.

Enjoyed it a lot.... overall Part 3/4/5 was just way too long, could have condensed it and cut out some of the "it's an action movie now" parts and made it better

Right now catching up on season 10 of the walking dead. Idk how far into it I was so just rewatching a few episodes but I am pretty sure I've never seen the full season. I watch about half a episode or so a night then go to sleep.

Also occasionally watching old WCW Nitro's. I'm in 97 where Luger won the title. Show is pretty boring. I started the Road Wild 97 PPV and haven't got back to it in over a week. Wrestling is so boring.

Watching the last season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia because I somehow missed it.... lol at the Thundergun episode.... I love episodes where they have a "normal person" antagonist who is just totally taken aback by the gang....
