Nakamura is probably going to have a grand entrance. If Taker isn't wrestling and Vince doesn't feel like putting Brock and Reigns out there last, it could technically close the show. Weirder things have happened. Cena didn't close out every Mania. Smart money is on Brock/Reigns being the last match, but maybe nobody feels like following Styles/Nakamura? Once you have the people in, they aren't going anywhere.

Rey Mysterio has always had that appeal to low socio-economic families, which probably translates to lots of YouTube views.

Does Rey Mysterio appeal to Mexican aristocrats?

I wonder if they will put D Bryan in the WWE Championship match as a referee.

I know, but we've already established they've got the internet, so I'm staying clear.

Rumor going around the net regarding the Women's Rumble implies the only reason the Bellas were in the Final 3 and Nikki eliminating Brie was due to Total Divas wanting a big Rumble storyline for an upcoming season and it had to involve the Bellas.

I'm sure there's truth in that, but let's not pretend that Nikki Bella isn't the highest paid full-time woman they've got and that they absolutely adore their Bella drama.

Bellas are extremely recognizable. That show is pretty over. Nikkis pop was huge.

I think people look past its scope because Nikki is objectively horrible. Watering that "Total" garden is probably going to keep the WWE pretty healthy for years to come. Nikki needs to be out there "fueling her star" in order to keep generating it.

Oh for fuck's sake, this was actually their original plan.

According to PWinsider, Dolph Ziggler was originally penciled in to face Bobby Roode at last night’s WWE Royal Rumble, but over the course of the weekend, the decision was made to bump him up to the Rumble match. He is scheduled to work tomorrow’s WWE Smackdown tapings.

Apparently WWE also considered Adam Cole to be Roode's opponent at the Rumble but then quickly realized how bad this idea was. Avoided having Cole's main roster debut be in a throw-away match and also suffer a useless loss.

WWE NXT Superstar Adam Cole almost answered WWE United States Champion Bobby Roode's US Open Challenge at the Royal Rumble on Sunday, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

There was a feeling that Cole did not need to lose to Roode in under 10 minutes, so officials made the decision to switch Cole's spot with Mojo Rawley. Mojo ended up losing to Roode on the Kickoff pre-show while Cole entered the Rumble at #23 and lasted 6 minutes & 52 seconds but had no eliminations. He was eliminated by Rey Mysterio.

I like the idea of Roode doing a US Open Challenge. Him beating Cole in that environment wouldn't have sucked.

If they had given it more than 10 id agree

Oh, missed that part. I imagine they could have, given that they don't really have to keep a watch anymore.

A thing that happened at the Royal Rumble that was overshadowed by like everything else, but still somewhat worth mentioning: Kelly Kelly still can't run ropes.

I mention this because it came up in a thread somewhere a few days ago before her "surprise" entry in said Rumble about how awful her shit was, and lo and behold, it's still shitty after all these years.

This.

Can't wait to see Styles and Nakamura in the opening match at Wrestlemania 34.

Also Ziggler's return might have meant something if he'd been gone for more than three weeks.

... and did something besides be a throwaway entrant in the Rumble. Have him come back and beat Roode for the title and vacate it again. Have him go to RAW and beat Miz and vacate the IC title in a similar fashion, adding validity to "I can win titles whenever I feel like it" boast he gave. Have him come back and feud with someone in particular. All of those things would have been better than him just being a body in the Royal Rumble match. About as bad as having the NXT champions in each rumble (seriously; they're already a champion... and for the "lower tier" promotion at that. Would anyone really buy that they have a shot at winning the damn thing?)

But yeah, all that buzz and speculation, and they wasted it on a weaksause payoff. Kinda like CM Punk "leaving" with the title and basically just taking a week and a half vacation.

What would give you any indication she could run the ropes now? It's not like she has been training since she left WWE.

She still looked amazing thiugh.
