View Full Version : The Official Wrestlemania XXXIX Weekend Thread: Raw After Mania Live at 8:00 pm EST!
Just realized that GUNTHER got his "win back" when he pinned McIntyre at Mania. McIntyre is the only person on the main roster to have scored a pinfall victory over him.

Saw a post on Facebook that had a picture of Cody and Ambrose giving the middle finger to the camera a few years back , which I believe was a middle finger to WWE
Then the picture below it had Brock last night giving the double bird to Cody while he was laid out I’m assuming .
And I thought that would be a pretty dope angle if it’s revealed HHH put Brock up to that. I mean Cody did give a big FU to Triple H when he took the sledge hammer to the throne . I think that’s what he did, right ?
It’s got some realism behind it and I would definitely be interested in that story . Now saying that, I doubt HHH gets involved in the feud but I’d like to see it happen
I keep seeing people say the throne smash thing as this giant fuck you to triple h. He's always been clear how thankful and appreciative he is of wwe and triple h. The throne thing was some harmless fun for the aew audience. The message wasn't even really about triple h, it was about wwe not being the only major promotion anymore

I didn’t want to start a new thread for this, but maybe it could happen, but I was just thinking that Gunther challenging Roman for the belts at WrestleMania next year may be pretty epic.
Something about it didn’t seem “right” in my head. Beyond Gunther being cast as this heel. But every time he is out there he steals the show. If he holds the IC Title past Memorial Day and breaks the record, Gunther winning the ‘24 Rumble would be a way to build on his performance this this year. You can run Imperium vs. The Bloodline. They could add Ilya Dragunov or even have Cody as a temporary partner to go against them in a giant tag in February.
I dunno, I feel like it would really feel like a main event. You can have Cody Rhodes wrestle someone else. Build up a personal feud. I don’t know what is actually going on with MJF, but if they can get him, he can screw Cody out of the Rumble and be his Mania 40 opponent.
Not gonna lie, I was quite excited about the prospect of HHH vs Roman. I’d definitely take HHH vs. Cody.

HHH is done due to his heart issues.

In the behind the scenes world you are right, but in Kayfabe world (which I know is weird to say these days but it still exists), the HHH character can definitely use that moment (or a lot of the beginning of AEW when they are constantly jabbing at WWE's product) as fuel for any kind of vendetta against Cody. It makes sense from a story standpoint. Cody leaving and building a company to go toe to toe with basically HHH's company from an on screen standpoint. He's been the face on screen for a while. And HHH basically asking Brock (one of the company's most loyal guys) to handle Rhodes for him. I know behind the scenes there's no bad blood, but I'm talking a scripted storyline.
I don't think HHH will get involved, but the story is there. I do think Brock's reason for attacking Cody is going to have everything to do with Cody just waltzing back into WWE and thinking he's the guy without even facing Brock. And yeah, i completely buy that. Brock is basically like "who the fuck are you?" It's kind of what I said a few posts back. I don't see Cody as the guy yet because he hasn't really beaten anyone except for Rollins. A feud with Brock is good for building him up

I mean yeah. But Edge/D Bry/Christian/etc were done until they weren’t.

The guy literally almost died. He's not wrestling ever again.
WWE didn't allow Lawler to wrestle after his heart issues either. He does it on his own but WWE never allowed it.

2 minute squash where HHH beats Cody without breaking a sweat.

Sounds like this idea calls for a CINEMATIC match!

Did Shane beat Nashes record for shortest time on the active roster after returning?

Triple H's condition is very different from those other examples

I think we’re all underestimating how far into the cloning process we are. We don’t need the ORIGINAL Triple H to compete.
