Firetree's been getting kind of laggy and annoying as of late. It sucks 'cause it's a really low pop server and stuff too.


We almost took down Broodlord tonight. We cleared the suppression room (took forever but was fun) and then accidentally aggroed Broodlord early. x_x Still got him to 14% though. Can't wait till we have BWL on farm status. So many items I need to get, and it's crazy 'cause I can actually obtain all the best gear in the game now. Kinda pumped. And I love it 'cause everyone in teh guild is hottttttt. Except for like Sepola and Kapowski. >.>

Shadow priests are so nasty. When I was in OK I was watching Naota (Homewrecker in Displaced) on his priest and it was nasty. Like would just destroy everything without even getting hurt. He wrecked this paladin hardcore, it made me cry.

I honestly just can't bring myself to go through the alliance starting areas. They're so boring. The only one worth anything is the NE starting area, but I hate NEs. Just like I hate the Orc/Troll starting area.

Their starting areas are the main reason I've never been able to play an alliance char past about lvl 10.

lol, Paladins are so easy now, well, except for the healing, thier little repentance thing is only good against warriors if you catch them outta Zerker stance, Zerker rage ftw, but most just don't seem to learn.

Ok, I don't like the undead starting area, but I still have a lvl20+ undead character that I continue to play. Seriously if that is what's keeping you from playing certain sides, go play Guild Wars or something.

Just got two new chars to lvl 20 now.. playing my lock mostly though. Half-done with the succubus quest.

Also, just got two army buddies to give WoW a try. They're just waiting for a while at their army base until they get shipped out, and they're getting bored of EQ, so I convinced them to give WoW a try. Gonna be sweet playing with even more RL friends in addition to the 3 or 4 others I already play with.

Being a noob in WoW is pretty easy actually. The starter quests are really self explanitory. Plus, they even have tooltips to tell you what to do if it's your first MMO ever.

Just start by finding all the people with exclamation points above their head.. right click them and do what they tell you.

If you want to play with anyone specific, like some of these guys on the boards.. then realm matters. You won't really get into guilds until higher levels.. until you're 60 and want to do high-end raiding, any guild is usually fine.. just something so that you'll have some people to talk to and group with.

Though, I would suggest finding a low or medium population server so you don't end up waiting in queues to get in game.

Firetree's a nice low-med population server, and me and Ant both play on it (Alliance).


In other hot news, 1.9.3 was hot. Arcanist got a decent +dmg buff, and is somewhat less terrible. Awesome.

Thats the thing that sucks with priests. You have to pick one type or another to be effective.

A rogue, mage, or hunter have it easy just going DPS which works in raids and pvp. I am making a twink pvper though. I am probably gonna keep it in the 29 bracket.

To be totally honest shadow priests are still fine in raids. You probably won't ever be healing the MT, but you can still spot heal just as fine as any other priest, or heal the offtank or whatever.

I think they have the smallest amount of options for itemization, and while as holy you can escape nearly any bad situation, trying to farm something takes about 3x as long per kill as shadow.

My run on Kael'Thas, alot of guildies got to take the easy way out by doing the initial run to rank 10-11 for respectable gear that can be used effectively in both pve and pvp. The tier 10 cloth set is visably geared toward locks /mages, and while established raiders don't have to require specs from their priest, new raiding guilds you need the points in holy and the huge mana to make up for all the mistakes.

Example : exploding bat riders in ZG. People that run it constantly know the patterns, when to back off, how to pull. New groups, you end up with your tanks and rogues at 10% or dead.

Anyway, after playing 2 to 60 I see why they're in short supply alot. They are extremely fun to level, but at 60 if there's not enough of you it basically becomes a second job full of forced instance runs and playing your character the way someone else wants instead of enjoying the game.

Tiger's a bitch, used to give us a ton of trouble for a while.


First of all, get your DPS classes to just dispose of the two tigers right away, then ste up your tanks on the 3 main targets.

Basically have two Wars on Zath, one on Thekal (we use our MT on Thekal), and another on .. the third one (the name escapes me)

Assist onto Zath and bring him to 20%, switch to Thekal, get him to 20%, then switch to the third guy and bring him to 20%. Then bring them all together into the little alcove and AoE them down or just single target them. What you're aiming for is to kill them all within 10 seconds of each other.

Once that's done, he transforms into his tiger form. Everybody should be in the little alcove. How we do it, we have all the melee DPS (rogues/warriors) on Thekal at all times, and ranged DPS takes out the tiger spawns ASAP when they come out. Works out pretty well for us.



Also, during the first phase, dispell (or purge if you are horde) helps a LOT, especially on the lightning shield since that just adds needless healing to the tanks

It's just those freaking tigers that tear healers up.

Can you explain more on how you keep healers safe... do you have a certain positioning... we use the wall trick to keep from getting pushed back with his stomp.

Ninti, I thought I read that they are toning down several ZG bosses and making Hakkar's fight a little harder in patch 1.10, so maybe you guys will have better luck if you haven't downed the boss by the time it comes out. :o

We basically have our MT and all rogues on the boss, and all our casters and 2 OTs are designated for tiger killing. When the two spawn, a tank grabs each one while mages/hunters/warlocks DPS them down. Then just back to hitting the boss

Heh. I have been playing a pally a lot lately. Just hit level 33 today, nothing special about him but I do really like the class a lot more since they refined their talents.

So the priest talents are out I see. Some hot ones, particularly the one where you get +healing/spell damage based on 25% of your total spirit. Also the 20% boost to healing/spell damage for 15 seconds castable on anyone and the new spirit of redemption where you have 10 seconds to cast free heals after death.

Instant, no cooldown holy explosion that damages and heals and causes no threats is going to be fun and those early on in the tree defensive boosts look nice as well.

Lightwell looks kinda lame, but oh well. All of this almost makes me want to reactivate my account and try it out when the patch comes out. Almost.

In another game I played, in the off hours we used to order beer/pizza through the urgent assistance command. It was a game that didn't have many servers, so we usually got a response within minutes.

Some of the GMs were cool and went along and made jokes. Others were dicks and were like "If you abuse the system, we will ban you. Do not do it again."

Yeah NW pants are a lot better than Black Blizz, I've come to realize. Sure BB have more dmg, but the stats you lose to obtain it isn't worth it.


The only upgrade from NW pants in the game for me (IMO) is Enigma. Ridiculous stats and dmg, so good.

Yeah, I often think how happy I get over just getting items and how I devote too much time to the game, but at the end of the day it's something I enjoy doing, you can take anything that you enjoy and pick it apart and say how it's a waste of time doing it and how you could be doing whatever else, and it just takes the fun out of anything. Plus if I didn't play wow i'd have flip all else to do, with the hours I work I rarely get to go out and get wasted anymore (which I would always do over playing any game)

Yeah I've been PvPing too much this week. I got about 270k last week, but that's 'cause I was working a lot too... could've been about 350ish if I had another day or two in AB.


Finally got fucking rank 11 Frosbolt tome tonight as well. My frostbolts hit for 950+ with my raid setup, and if I throw on a couple of straight dmg pieces I can break 1k rather consistently (kinda bummed I vendored my Hexxer's Cover and such)


My goal is to break 1k minimum on my Frostbolts so I will never see less than 4 numbers. Pewpew. If Razorgore ever drops my damn shoulder and I enchant it this will be a reality.

To see who is all in the zone, just type /who. That will bring up a list of players who are (I think) +/- 3 levels in the same zone. You can just do a "/who zonename" to see everyone though. Like for instance, "/who Dun Murogh" (Dwarf starting zone). The list is capped at 49 people though so there could very well be many

Unfortunately, Displaced needing tanks means it wants tanks that are already geared with raiding gear and just happened to leave their guilds for whatever reason.

My roommate who has been in the guild all of a whole week is getting shit on by guys like Wren because he has "shitty gear" His character was created 2 months ago and he has chromatic chest and 6/8 heroism and ZG shield and might gloves. Pretty damn good pre raid gear.

I don't know how he's expected to get better until he actually goes on runs.

Same shit with my other roomie, Frag. He almost got kicked from the guild this week because he wasn't keyed with Onyxia. (he managed to get it done a day before the kick) For a guild that doesn't force it's members to raid, this boggles my mind.

Scrolling Combat Text (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-222-1-scrollingcombattext.html) - Just like it says, it adds text over your characters head in combat. Really useful if you are a warrior/paladin, as it tells you when to use overpower, execute, etc. Makes everything easier.

Titan Panel (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-860-1-titan-panel.html) - Useful bar full of info like bag space, gold, exp gained/hour, latency..

GoodInspect (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-220-1-goodinspect.html) - My personal favorite, lets you inspect people from a MUCH farther distance, so you don't have to stand 3 feet away from someone to see their gear.


Those are just addons, the UI mod I use is Nurfed UI (http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-298-1-nurfed-ui.html). It's a pretty simple mod compared to some out there, but it allows for a lot of customization and I think the unit frames look nicer then the default ones.

That link is actually a compilation of the nurfed stuff, and a bunch of other mods as well. The ones I listed above are all in there. You can enable or disable whichever ones you want if you install that package.

Oh man, FFXI. I enjoyed lvling in that game. It was kind've.... er...cozy I guess would work as a description. You didn't generally have to move far once you've picked a spot.

Other than that, it fails. You can't lvl yourself past about 10 and you have to do things to gain money outside of lvling (unless you whore up the auction house, which seems to work quite well in every mmo game so far), so the game progression is quite slow.

Yeah. I liked the LFG system in FFXI better than WoW's. Too bad you HAD to party to gain any experience past level 10. Also the slow rate of getting new abilites (mage spells and bard songs were fairly often though) coupled with the fact that you had to stop lvling and go farm for hours just to afford whole new sets of armor to keep up was just too much.

I got a white mage to lvl 56. Thankfully white mages could teleport people to different parts of the world and charge for it. Otherwise I would've been wearing lvl 20 crap forever. It definitely got boring and was even more guild (linkshell) dependant than WoW is.

It was hilarious to watch people who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time get molested by some other assholes mob train and him falling dead and deleveling and you hear that "waaaaaaahhhh" sound when you lose your lvl which probably made him lose 2 hours worth of party time. You know he was crying a little on the inside.

I kind've miss that feeling in FFXI where you were in danger pretty much anywhere outside of the towns. Monsters anywhere near your lvl were badass and would chase you from all the way to a zone entrance. It got annoying, but it made sense. Ah well.

I liked being able to sell your items on you instead of having to run to the AH. Just sit afk for awhile in a major city. The boat event was pretty fun to, to bad I got 1 shotted by the monster lol.

New patch today, I am.. underwhelmed. Rogue talent changes didn't affect me at all, the only thing I liked was the Vanish change but I don't usually use that in battlegrounds. :o

Was looking forward to cross server BGs, but when I got into WSG, it stuck on the loading screen for 10 seconds, and then warped me right back to IF with deserter..

Went to Silithus to try the world PVP, it was stupid. Only about 20 people there total, it was like a shitty version of AV.

Basicly, you took any item with stats on it, put it in any bag, then make sure the 4th slot in your backpack was item, then take the item put it in, you get the stats from the item even though it's not equipped. You could do it as many times as you want. have 100k armor, and 335% chance to crit and dodge. with 10k attack power.

Also, Fury spec = The goods. My warrior has been specced Fury for 8 months, was one of the 1st on my server to spec into it and keep it for more then a week. This is also WAYYYY before Hulksmash, however good the vide is, made being fury the flavor of the month.

Also lol @ me never doing Gnomer or ZF when I was leveling my warrior.

yeah +hit is immensly useful for a fury warrior, but if i decide to respec to protect or arms they will become less useful than the trinket which gives +75 strength... combined with crusader and battle shout, you could get immense power (not to mention a bit of healing) if you use a 2H weapon. it's really a tough decision

Unless you get an Ashkandi or Untamed Blade from BWL or are your guilds main/1st/2nd tank, don't respec. Once you hit MC and Ony and get a Brutality Blade(offhand)http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=18832 from MC and a Deathbringer(mainhand)http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=17068 from Ony, you'll be killing rogues, hunters and some mages on the dps charts.

With enough +hit gear and the right stats, Fury can dominate pvp aswell. Screw Mother Fucking Mortal Strike build.

Silent i'm not sure, are you a rogue? If so, give me some tips on some mid 35's gear. Like droppable or questing. I have decent stuff. I mean my chest is ok, its Blacked Defias. I'm bout to upgrade that when i finish my Raptor Mastery quest in Stranglethorn. I have a Toxic Avenger as one of my daggers. Been trying to camp the bird in Westfall, but thats a waste of my time. I got the best mid 20's gear i guess. A few things that will be good til 40, but i need to start looking for upgrades.

well i've gotten my full valor (tier 0 warrior) set now...21 fucking baron runs... and i'm lookig to upgrade it to tier 0.5... seems like it might not be worth the effort, but in the mean time i'm building dkp in weekly MC runs (although my guild can't get past baron geddon) to try and get my tier 1 stuff

Still Fury Specc'd, I do more dps than most of the rogues in my guild... +6% hit with my gear so far :)

and RP have you looked at what you can make with leatherworking? Might be worth it to read up and see if you want to pick up leatheroworking and skinning for your rogue's gear

I am a leather worker and a skinner. My leatherworking is at like 145 i think, my skinning is damn near 250. I'm at the point where its more profitable for me to sell all the leather i skin ( which is a fukton from Stranglethorn ) so that i can have enough gold to get my mount. Niggas brokes these days. I got a 60 Hunter friend who's in one of the best guilds and does Blackwing Lair and other nice shit, but i dont wanna ask him for anything. When i need something one shotted he does it and thats all i'm gunna ask of him. Right now i got 11 gold..lol

I'm not sure of all the best gear for a mid 30s rogue, I know when you hit low 40s you can start getting lots of great stuff from quests in Tanaris/Zul'Farrak.

There's over 100 quests for Stranglethorn Vale (literally) so just do as many as you can and you'll probably pick up some upgrades, or you could just get some nice stuff from the auction house.

Gohan.. I wouldn't bother with the tier 0.5 quests, you spend like 250gold just for the bracer, gloves, and belt, and they aren't that great. Just get stuff from MC dude.

that's some nice gear silent, i have the same hat just to annoy mages with because everyone wants it :D

and my guild only does MC once a week... and with school and all I don't have time for much more so i spend my free time working on the tier 0.5 quests. i picked up a shield on a scholo run(skullflame crest) that will pay in full for my tier 0.5 gear (shield is worth 500 - 600g)

And yeah I want the expansion, or at the least the fucking beta, starting to feel like I went to blizzcon for nothing, not going to be much time for the beta if the game is coming out end of Nov.
