I found myself becoming a bit of Blue Jackets fan last year since their's were the only games I could watch because I don't get OLN. Perhaps I should jump on the bandwagon while there's still front row seats available.

Here's a question, I drafted Yanic Perreault for my fantasy team, but have heard nothing on the guy at all. He was in Nashville last year but ended the year injured. Did he retire? Where in the world is Yanic Perreault??

the canucks are in serious trouble this year

Theyr'e a team that is completely unknown of how they'll do this year. You can't even make a relevent prediction. They could suck because their D and RW is lacking, they could be great because they're unknowns like Buffalo and Carolina were last year. A hard working team infront of Luongo could do some damage. The salary cap really really really hurt this team. They were onto something good before the lockout.

Anson Carter signed for more money than he could have ever got out of Vancouver, even before the Kesler events. So he's not an idiot. As a Canuck fan, I hope he does shitty in Columbus, but he'll be playing with Nash and Fedorov (reports say) so I think he'll most likely do better or as good as he did last season.

I think that logo needs legs. Also some colour bands on the lower half or something. I do like it well enough, but the buffalo needs to be fully formed and perhaps a bit bigger in the jersey or like I said some colour bands.. or one big one on the bottom. It's too far away from a traditional hockey jersey as it stands right now.

Just to further explain my point.

Look at this similar logo for Phoenix.

It was smart enough to look all new but still add the colour bands.borders on the bottom of it's uniform to complete it. Otherwise the jersey looks incomplete. I do like the player's number on the jersey's front like the Sabres have...

This pre-season isn't providing any break out players. Kesler has looked good, Burrows not too bad, but no one has snuck up and made a person go 'wow'. Remember though, it is just the pre-season.

I agree with this.

Also - I'm not so sure about Columbus' defense. They have an aging Adam Foote, and a "damaged goods" Bryan Berard. Who else do they have?

Pascal Leclaire (Columbus' goalie if I'm not mistaken) should be pretty decent.

The team that makes me sick however, is the friggin' Ducks. :nono: Thank god the Canucks aren't in that division. :y: Pacific Division is far and away the toughest division this year IMO. San Jose and Anaheim should be insanely good, while the Kings and Dallas won't be too shabby either.

Phoenix, with Jovanovski, Roenick, and Nolan, might put themselves back into playoff contention as well.

San Jose should be amazing. I think Dallas will be really strong as well. They added some good fowards, in Lindros, Ribiero, and Stefan. While Stefan hasn't lived up to being a number one pick he still is a quality foward. Plus Turco's great in the regular season.

I don't think Phoenix will be anything this year. Jovanovski defintely helps, but Roenik is old, Nolan hasn't played in two years. Nagy's good, as his Doan, but who else can score?

The reason Kitchener is being suggested is because Toronto is such a huge hockey market, that they could feed off it. Since they don't want to put a second team in Toronto, (like New York) this is what some are considering.
I think if they move it, they should look at Winnipeg. With the new cap structure in place, it would once again be a viable market that has a history of really good attendance record. We'll see.

Vancouver, Edmonton are on the decline. Calgary is sort of 'just the same'. Well Vancouver might improve, but they aren't considered cup favourites anymore. PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Flyers general manager Bob Clarke resigned and coach Ken Hitchcock was fired in a dramatic shakeup Sunday, with Philadelphia off to its worst start in more than 15 years.
Assistant John Stevens will become head coach, and assistant general manager Paul Holmgren will be the interim general manager, trying to become the latest combination to end their 31-year Stanley Cup drought. The Flyers are 1-6-1 and have the fewest points in the NHL.

What do you think they need to do?

For starters they need to solve their goaltending problems. Esche is not a number one goalie, and Nittymaki hasn't been playing like one. I am not sure how much money they have under the cap, but Nabokov or Toskala from San Jose is available, as well as Biron from Buffalo. Both of those guys are huge upgrades. Hatcher is not fit well for the new NHL, and the entire defense needs work. Their offense has a nice blend of young and vetran players, but they are just not getting the job done right now. Forsberg out hurts, but their offense needs to start to finish.

I hate Sabres new (Old) Unis, but I love how they have built this team. After the no Goal loss in the finals, and the Regis family adelphia fiasco, I thought it would be 10 years before we competed again.

Every major player the sabres had over a good 10 year span walked, and then they rebuilt the team over 3 years into a powerhouse. Thomas Vanek will be one of the biggest stars in the NHL in 2 years. He is amazing.

But back to the unis. I think it is good to get back to the History of the franchise with the blue and gold, a tribute to the old days of the French connection and the like, but I just dont think they fit anymore. They are outdated in blue, and the white jersey is TERRINLE with the Buffalo/Slug hybrid.

It is about time we get a win in Buffalo. 4 Super Bowl losses and losing the Stanley cup in such a bull shit fashion, we deserve something to be happy for.

The Sabres resurgence + the new casino could really save a dying region
