Anyway, this is really unfortunate and embarrassing as a Lakers fan... Kobe... what are you thinking?!

Yes but the Lakers themselves arent the best, so they would like to avoid playing the best, increasing their chances of winning, cause let's face it, LBJ is gonna destroy the Lakers and their fans.

um, pretty sure thats why PLAYOFFS happen in sports, so championships come down to the two best teams...or maybe im missing something?

Big win even with the Cavs dominating too much in the 4th Q. Cavs end up being their worst enemy most of the time since once Lebron gets tired or goes into huge ball hog mode, rest of the team struggles.

Absolutely hate how the refs of the NBA kill the flow of a lot of playoff games with inconsistent fouls. Not just about games with the Celtics but every year has a bunch of wtf calls and moments.

He's easily the best player on The Celtics, and the 2nd best player in that whole series.

lol @ u telling ME that I don't know anything about basketball. Have you ever even played the game? I've been a PG my whole life, trust me, I know what I'm talking about. If Rondo had a decent jumper, he'd be one of the deadliest players in the game. You can't stop his penetration, excellent defender, and is one of the best passers, if not the best. Shut the fuck up.

Okay, all joking aside, Rondo is definitly one of the top point guards in the NBA, but i wouldnt call him the best...he still has a looooong way to go. Oh I'm sorry, you've played in a pick up league, excuse me. You being a PG means you know everything about being a PG. The point is he isn't the best, you still haven't made much of a case that he is. But then again, you shouldn't really have to, being a point guard and all....

They aren't trying to overcome being associated with being accused of rape/cheating on their wives though, that was my point. Ever since the "Denver Incident" you've seen an increase in Kobe "the family man" - it's good marketing.

Jason Kidd was great at this as well, blowing kiss every time at the foul line for his son after the whole "domestic abuse" incident.

Now, enjoy Adam Morrison.

Meh not shocked since the Cs tend to give the Cavs a 20+ point lead when they play against each other more times than should be possible. Celtics didn't even bother to play with any motivation and got "lazy".

ESPN is annoying though since now focus went from Lebron's elbow injury being serious (Cavs loss) to not even worrying about it becoming an issue (Cavs win).

Can't believe as a Knicks fan I've been rooting for the Celtics this series but I have. Only thing to root for is hoping it makes it easier for LeBron to leave Cleveland if they get knocked out again this year.

Just read an article that was saying the Knicks have had a guy on their staff for the past two years who's sole job is to make LeBron want to come to NY in the summer.

Gonna be so disappointing when he doesn't come here.

Why would they shut the hell up? If the Cavs lose then people will still sing the praise of Lebron because he's currently the best basketball player alive.

Also, people had every right to think the Cavs would win the Championship this year, given their record. If they don't win, it will be an upset.

In most all the years Kobe won a championship with the Lakers, he had an All-Star team backing him up. The Cavs right now consists of one extremely good player and a bunch of average players working together perfectly.

Kobe is an extremely good player but it seems you could put Lebron on just about any team and they are instantly playoff capable.

Juan

Exactly. If Lebron's team mates don't step up and help him win a title, they'll keep floundering in the post season. No one wins a championship alone.

Nark Order
05-12-2010, 02:42 AM
Agreed.

I say send Lebron to a team that will actually take advantage of him and that will use him to win championships. That's just me though. Cavs still have a chance, but it's all they have. There are many teams that would be pretty much guaranteed a championship with Lebron on the squad.

James, in the first quarter of tonight's game, had 0 points, and 4 assists. Now I don't know much about basketball and quite frankly, I hate the game. However, I caught a little bit of that first quarter and to me, your best player has to be your best player. Lebron's game is not playing the "dish master" but it is to take games over, and win them, by himself if necessary. Im not sure how he did in the other quarters and do not care to look but the score kind of says it all.

Nark Order

But Lebron is the best player in the NBA because he ISN'T a selfish player. He doesn't try to "take control" of the game or put it into his own hands. He wins a team player and he loses a team player.

Yes, but at some point he is going to have to take the ball to the hole by himself. We all know he has the ability to score between 25-30 points a game, but some games he is going to have to put 30-40 so his team can win. In the age of the salary cap which is a part of most pro leagues, if a team wants a player like that, his supporting cast isn't going to be as good. Thus, like I said before, the Star has to lift most of the weight.

To tell you the truth, not all too many but my brother is the biggest Cavs fan I'll probably ever meet. He tells me a whole lot.

From what I've seen, what I say mostly rings true. That isn't that say that he doesn't take vital shots when he needs to but he isn't a complete ball hog like many "star players" tend to be. You don't get the stats that Lebron has by being a selfish player, I mean, look at his assists alone.

Juan
05-12-2010, 03:02 AM

Guess that depends on what you mean by taking control, or I could be wrong altogether. Just now starting to get back into the game. My point is that he gives his team a very fair amount of looks in comparison to himself. His team would not have near the individual stats that they have even, if Lebron wasn't on the team.

Kobe isnt better than MJ.

LeBron isnt better than Kobe.

James is the most athletically gifted player in pro sports today, no doubt...but his jump shot is sketchy.

He gets almost ALL his points by using his athleticism, and most of his assists come in that same form. He either drives and gets a dunk/layup, or drives and dishes out after the collapse.

He isnt Steve Nash or CP3 (or even Rondo) in his passing, he isnt Kobe Bryant in his clutch shooting, and he isnt Micheal Jordan in his basketball IQ and consistency.

But according to most James Jock Riders, he is the greatest thing EVER. He is not, he is nothing more than a big, strong, fast player who can drive the basket.

Few things would make me happier if the Knicks just got Carlos Boozer and Joe Johnson this offseason.

Am I the only one that wants Suns/Magic Finals?

No.

People who enjoy games with more offense than defense will probably agree.

I just enjoy games without ballhogging rapists like THE BLACK MAMBA.

I'm already sick of the LeBron talk, but that's a pretty sick picture...

As for seeing a Suns/Magic finals, no I don't want to see that.

If I had to pick a team, other than the C's obviously, to win it all I'd go with the Suns. I can't stand the Lakers (mostly Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol) and I really don't like the Magic. I don't like Dwight Howard's goofball attitude, I think it's stupid.

Well he better get someone that's even close to Pau Gasol if he wants to win one in New York.

All I'm saying is not even Jordan won one without Scottie. Batshaq didn't win one without Kobin or the Flash. Hell, even Hakeem had The Glide and look at Duncan's supporting casts.

:?: What's your point? I agree with all of that. No one wins a championship alone. I think I even mentioned that on page 48 or 49

I'm not really sure exactly how the salary cap works much but could New York even sign LebRon James? And if they did, would they have enough money left for anybody else? As we've seen, LeBron by himself can only do so much.

Juan

The Knicks has been preparing to sign Lebron + 1 or 2 key free agents since around the 2008 season. They have the money.
