I agree the hand to hand fighting style of the UFC game as opposed to the SF and MK style games just felt more realistic instead of some dude standing across the screen from you throwing fireballs or spears. I wouldn't have a problem with the occasional metaphysical superpower, but to me a game that features use of many differing actual fighting styles and in close hand to hand combat would be what I want as opposed to uppercuts and legsweep cheese.
Basically what I'd want would be to throw a bunch of differing fighting styles into a game as opposed to the 3 in UFC and do away with a majority of the ground game (leave a bit of punching or kicking your opponent while they're down, not enough to spam but enough to punish a person for getting knocked down) and then if you want throw in a meter that you can build up where at the opportune time you can launch your fireball/spear/whatever. |
