Meh, I don't see why you should make a scheduling exemption just because of a new stadium. It's going the most sensible route, a flip of a coin. Can't get much fairer than that.

Exactly.

It will fuck up the two East Divisions schedules or else they lose the "division plays the same people" aspect

I don't think New York's state government contributes anything to the teams. I may be wrong. I think most of the state's budget is allocated near the city, second Albany, and then everywhere else. The fucking state is in such a hole because of shitty state government in the first place.

I'm pretty sure two of the games each year are based on records or something like that. I don't think it would have been too hard to schedule. Either way I don't really care. In 20 years, is anyone going to care who had the first game in the new stadium? They shouldn't. Should Goodell have had both parties meet to discuss the plans? Maybe. Ultimately I don't think it is a big deal.
