In this particular case, since it's a HOF round, Supreme took the biggest available name he had or could think of and matched him against Punk. Again the way it goes is, Newcomer vs Jobber, Newcomer vs Lower Midcarder, Newcomer vs Midcarder, Newcomer vs Main Eventer, and then the HOF round is Newcomer vs Legend. Would you rather a HOF round be between Punk/Piper or Punk/Kid Kash?

Please enlighten me on which one of those is a newcomer or a mid-carder. Unless you mean Punk was the newcomer because he was new to the polls. Though none of these men are mid-carders and I don't think anybody would ever make the mistake to call them that. I'm pretty sure all of those people are either Legend Status or Main Event status.
