Aaaaand Isringhausen blows the save in embarrassing fashion, handing the Mets their 5th loss and completely negating their great road trip last week.

I expect the Braves to come in this weekend and sweep them away like dogs, officially killing their minute hopes at making a run. Going to next Wednesday's game against the Padres - place will probably be a morgue.

Don't know I mentioned it, but I'm going to Wrigley for Cubs vs Reds september 6. Three dollar beer night in the bleachers. Cant beat that.

My second Cubs v Reds game this year. First one was pretty darn good even though Cubbies lost.

Stephen Strasburg pitched a simulated game, they're talking about making some rehab starts and perhaps pitching in the big leagues in September...

...if I was the Nationals, I wouldn't even THINK about bringing him up this year at all...they're not in a pennant race, or going for the Wild Card, so there's no use in rushing it...I'd wait until Spring Training.

So basically A-Rod is never going to learn to stop doing things that are illegal or against the rules in MLB.

This would make it 2 really dumb things he's done this year and hasn't cared at all with the first being having his cousin who he blamed gave him roids near the team after MLB told him no more meetings with the relative.

O's pick up Jo-Jo Reyes off Waivers. Which leads to.....

Wakefield still stuck on 199 wins with another no decision today but he was pissed when Tito wanted to remove him from the game after Indians tied the score 3-3.

I heard the Jays were in on Heath Bell merely for the draft picks they'd get for him signing elseshwere next year. Maybe the get him through the waiver wire.

...Peña won't hit you .300, but he'll hit 30 or 40 Home Runs...why pay some one $100 million to hit you 30 or 40 Homers, when you can sign Carlos Peña while spending less money and having more left over to spend on building a better team?
