WWE ended up fining the ref who botched the pinfall count in the main event.

The stance from many, including Zapata, was that the match was laid out ahead of time and that Rousey in particular could have struggled to regain her bearings if the scheduled finish didn't work out. The pinfall was supposed to happen off the crucifix, but McMahon told Zapata that he should have waited until the shoulders were down to count the three, and if any of the performers in the ring ended up struggling to regain their footing, that would
Also seems the botch was made worse because of production deciding to replay the finish with the shot of Ronda's shoulder off the mat and Graves not keeping his mouth shut when the botch happened.

I don't think they had much of a choice. Unless they knew the exact spot for the finish, which I doubt, the spot was an obvious botch, how could you not mention the abnormality of the situation? Why do they blame the ref? Rhonda should have kept her shoulders down and Becky should have made sure that the pin was tight.

I guess the ref could have just restarted the count but that as well would have been weird and anticlimatic.

I like how in the highlights they have to make the screen black during the pinfall

I wonder if they'll edit it on the network to a different camera angle

They did that for most of the match highlights not just the main event I thought.
