Spoiler taping for the month of April:

Dark Match: Sammy Sane (formerly El Generico) b. Briley Pierce in a quick match. The crowd was chanting “Olé” all throughout.

Episode 1; Airing March 27th:

* Brad Maddox and Kassius Ohno are on commentary in place of William Regal.

* Bo Dallas and NXT Tag Team Champion Adrian Neville b. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper when Bo hit a belly-to-belly suplex on Harper. Bray Wyatt tried to interfere but was taken out along with Rowan by Neville.

* William Regal attacked Kassius Ohno at the announce table. Dawson and Maddox talked about it once the ring crew fixed the damage.

* Paige and Sasha Banks b. Audrey Marie and Summer Rae when Paige hit the Paige Turner on Audrey after Summer left. After the match, Paige immediately went to the back to go after Summer.

* NXT Champion Big E Langston b. “The Ascension” Conor O’Brian with the Big Ending to retain. After the match, Big E hit yet another Big Ending for good measure and did the 5 count. Big E went to do another, but the time keeper told him to wrap it up, so Langston simply left to close the show. Kyle says he boo’d the guy, who in return did the DX cross-chop.

Episode 2; Airing April 3rd:

* Kendall Skye takes over for Byron Saxton as the ring announcer, while Tom Phillips takes over for Tony Dawson on commentary.

* The Shield b. Axl Keegan, Percy Watson and Scott Dawson in a quick match. After the match, Shield triple powerbombed Dawson before saying that justice has been served yet again. Shield say they will forever run NXT. Corey Graves interrupts on the titantron and challenges any member to a match next week. Rollins accepts and tells Graves he has no idea what he’s getting himself into.

* The Bella Twins b. Cameron and Naomi with a new combo finisher on Cameron.

* William Regal b. Kassius Ohno with the knee trembler to close the show.

Off-Air: Byron Saxton is about to announce major news for the next tapings on May 2nd when a pre-taped John Cena video airs announcing he will be the guest.

Episode 3; Airing April 10th:

* The show kicked off with an announcement that this is a special “Clash of the Champions” episode where every title is on the line.

* WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro b. NXT Tag Team Champion Adrian Neville with the Neutralizer to retain. Kyle calls it the best match he’s seen on NXT, “unreal”.

* WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn b. AJ Lee with a spear to retain.

* NXT Champion Big E Langston b. Brad Maddox with the Big Ending to retain. After the match, Langston delivered a couple more Big Endings to Maddox.

* WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett b. Bo Dallas with the Bullhammer to retain. Crowd was pro Barrett, chanting “Let’s Go Barrett” and “No More Bo”.

Episode 4; Airing April 17th:

* The show kicked off with the announcement that the main event between Corey Graves and Seth Rollins will be a Lumberjack match.

* Leo Kruger b. Justin Gabriel with a modified armbar.

* Emma b. Bayley via submission. Kyle says the crowd is as hot for her as they are with Paige.

* Bray Wyatt b. Yoshi Tatsu in a squash match. After the match, Bray cut a pretty impressive promo.

* Seth Rollins b. Corey Graves in a Lumberjack match after Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns came out and cleared out the Lumberjacks, causing a distraction.

Really love NXT. It's so old-school and just a fun show to watch. I can't wait to watch that Clash of the Champions show, even though Kaitlyn vs. AJ Lee should be happening at fucking WrestleMania.

Poor Bo. It's clear that the WWE desperately wants to get him over as a blue-chipper babyface, but it's not going to work. Maybe if he turns heel, becomes darker, he can surprise people with competent ring work and promos that aren't "Yay, I'm a good ol' boy." He could maybe surprise people like The Rock did when he dropped the smiling, forced-down-our-throats babyface act.

I really think the WWE should write off Bo Dallas for a little bit. Maybe have Bray Wyatt put out Dallas after winning some sort of gimmick match with Dallas demanding that he gets no help from Adrian Neville or Oliver Grey. Dallas gets destroyed when The Wyatt Family help out Wyatt and then Dallas takes some time off and returns darker and less goofy than he currently is.

Yeah, probably better off throwing him in the ocean. His natural gravitational suck should sink him right down to the furthest depths. Then centuries of radioactive polluting will turn him into a Godzilla villain and he will be ultimately destroyed with specially developed anti-Bo rocket cannons funded via Kickstarter by what remains of the IWC.

I would actually enjoy it if Sakamoto and Briley Pierce became a full-time tag team. They always do the same thing with Japanese wrestlers. It'd be nice to see one that doesn't have the gimmick of simply being Japanese.

Mr. Nerfect
05-11-2013, 09:17 PM
I was hoping that they were going to go forward with a Bo Dallas heel turn after he lost the titles for Adrian Neville. They could have given Neville a rematch with The Wyatt Family with any partner he wants. He chooses Kassius Ohno because of Ohno's problems with The Family and because Bo doesn't take things seriously enough. Dallas costs them their match against Erick Rowan and Luke Harper out of bitterness and The Family beats down Ohno and Neville.

Bo Dallas can then get dressed up real nice and talk about how the NXT audience doesn't respect him. He goes through the audience and asks people what they are doing with their life. Dallas points out that he is younger and has already achieved more than they ever will in their life. Give him a hot girl as a valet -- maybe Audrey Marie or one of the new Divas that they have signed for that reality show. Maybe give him two, just to rub it in people's faces.

And so his gimmick would be... having a tag partner who can't understand him? They already did that with Yoshi Tatsu a few years ago.

Only way Bo is turning heel is once he's on the main roster again. The WWE is too committed on making him the face of NXT based on the rumors from the dirtsheets and the past several months worth of tapings.

I really love Rick Victor. I like the idea of him and Conor O'Brian forming a new Ascension together.

Sami Zayn seems so...likeable. He's just a dude who has wrestled all over the world and is really good at it and compliments the broadcasters. I have a feeling Gertner will hate him, but so far so good.

That was pretty bad Paige interference. Why couldn't they have just given Natalya the win and have had Paige attack Summer Rae after the match? Nattie is a main roster Diva, it's OK to put her over the NXT girls. God Paige is amazing, by the way.

Heel Bo Dallas will be shockingly good, I think. It'll certainly be better than face Bo Dallas. Adrian Neville seemed really awkward in that backstage segment. I didn't think he did too badly when I saw him a while ago. Neville needs to work with the person who has been working with Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston, Antonio Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler and turned them all from spotty mic workers into fairly dependable ones.

Bray Wyatt is awesome, but he just doesn't seem to fit anywhere at the moment. I'd still love to see him feud with Randy Orton for whatever reason. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper don't need to necessarily go straight up to the main roster with him right away -- save them as a sinister surprise for later.

Corey Graves has got his character nailed. I'd love to see him up on the main roster soon, but I could also see him and Kassius Ohno getting an NXT Tag Team Title run together.

Really love NXT. Everybody has some semblance of a character/gimmick/direction. Also, at under an hour, the show doesn't tread water/spin it's wheels at any point/waste any of my free time.

I tend to skip a lot of stuff on Raw, haven't watched SmackDown for three weeks (and I always used to watch SmackDown) and watch TNA in fast-forward, if at all. Yet, NXT is "must-see" for me.

I do see something in Bo. I'm squinting, but it's there. He's confident, he's young, he can technically work. He's like "blue-chipper" Rocky Maivia. That doesn't mean he'll necessarily turn out to be great, but I won't be surprised if one day tones are changed when it comes to Bo. The dude should be a heel feuding with Adrian Neville at the moment, though, certainly not NXT Champion.

Maybe they want to try "over-the-top face champion that is annoying and is actually a heel" or something like that? They should have gone with someone else winning the Battle Royal and facing Big E. Langston. Bray Wyatt would have been a better choice and if they want him on the main roster, just don't put the title on him.

JUST SAY NO TO BO!

Mr. Nerfect
06-03-2013, 06:04 PM
I could have gone for Kassius Ohno as NXT Champion, since there doesn't seem to be an immediate plan to call him up to the main roster. He could have knocked out Big E., which would have been impressive, and he can cut promos on Bray Wyatt, who had The Family take him out a few weeks back. Ohno could talk about how he's put himself between Wyatt and the NXT Title so that Wyatt needs to go through him.

Mr. Nerfect
06-06-2013, 07:42 AM
Just watched this week's NXT. I want to like Brad Maddox, and he has moments that are pretty cool, but I don't really get the mad hype around him. Am I missing something?

The opening segment with Bo Dallas and Big E. Langston was pretty good. Langston has really come onto his own and seems far less awkward than he used to. I'm not sure if he is meant to be a face or a heel, but he walks to "cool" line that makes me sad to know he'll be dropping the title to Bo.

I know it's unpopular, but I don't hate Dallas. I get annoyed by his continuous shoving down our throats and his character, but I'm going to give him the chance to develop, because I'm sure I could end up liking the guy one day. After all, Husky Harris became Bray Wyatt. I like Dallas' line about needing to be champion and the implication that he's envious of Big E.'s success.

Jim Ross being there was a nice touch. Whoever is booking NXT knows how to make things feel special, and how to use legends like JR effectively. Championship matches are always a big deal on NXT. The simple tagline of "Is Big E. Langston the biggest, baddest man in NXT; or will Bo Dallas achieve his dream?" is a simple way to some up the title feuds, which are easy to get and suck you in pretty effectively.

Corey Graves is quite good on the mic and I dig his character. He is great at somehow making his offense look believable, too. I'm starting to see what makes Luke Harper so great. He and Graves worked really well together. I'd love to see them in a singles match down the line. Ohno is a decent promo, but some sort of spark is missing. His charisma shines through better when he's out there in the ring. He can hopefully get to that next level and become a great talker, though.

Speaking of great talkers, man is Sami Zayn a natural? He seems like a real cool dude, and he's a Superstar you'd just like to hang out with. He's probably the skinniest guy on the roster, so I hope that he can find a way to make his stuff believable. I bought him beating Antonio Cesaro, and he's a big dude. It's just a shame that Zayn isn't massively ripped, otherwise he would be a sure deal.

Paige is amazing. I loved her work with Tamina and the story it told. It looked like Tammy could have had the match won on the girl fighting above her weight against a main roster Diva, but then Snuka got cocky and Paige capitalised. Alicia Fox will probably defeat Bayley, which will be fine because Bayley is still getting away with jobbing as "the new girl." It will also allow Paige to beat a former Divas Champion before reaching the finals. Summer Rae will probably go over Sasha Banks and move into the semi-finals against Emma, who will hopefully defeat Aksana. Summer Rae vs. Emma could go either way, and while I do love Emma and I think putting the two most over girls against each other would be wise, Summer Rae going into the finals makes sense. Please make Paige the first champion, though. She's earned that.

Still not really fussed about Mason Ryan. I wish him the best, but he just seems to be "Roar! I'm a big guy! Cheer me!" The other dude kind of looked like he had potential, but he'll need a role. As a tough New York guy, I'd love to see him feud with Zack Ryder, who he can say is misrepresenting New York. Alex Riley looked like against Conor O'Brian tonight. Get your shit together, A-Ry. He's still got Superstar potential, but he needs to get his head around certain things. O'Brian has got presence these days. I loved his rolling headlock takeovers. He seems to do a few things that disorient his opponents, which is a nice little technique that you don't see from too many guys. His pairing with Rick Victor will be good, since Victor was so smooth last I saw him. The WWE needs face teams, though. Maybe he and O'Brian could be a face duo together, and come in and instantly spook The Shield?

Man, could you imagine how over The Ascension would immediately be if they returned with The Undertaker to reclaim the yard?

O'Brian's found a character that works for him in NXT. His stuff on the main roster showed he had certain potential, but he never really seemed "heavy" enough with his personality to be other than a random dude with a bit of size. I could buy him as a threat with his serious gimmick. Working with Rick Victor (who is absolutely brilliant in the ring) is only going to help him.

Next set of SSSSSSSSPOILERS:

Byron Saxton came out and did the obligatory “exits are here” speech. He put over the Women’s Title Tournament and mentioned that the Hurricane Sandy auction raised $500k. Someone named Jenna apparently paid to be special guest timekeeper. She even got an NXT style TitanTron. She did the time keeping for the dark match.

Dark Match:
Mojo Rawley beat Danny Burch. Mojo clearly brought friends and family as he got a mild chant. Mojo won with an Earthquake-esque butt drop. By the numbers, short match.

Episode One:
Tony Dawson and William Regal were on commentary. There was a video that recapped the NXT Title change. I kid you not, they changed the ring apron after one match during this video. Byron Saxton did the “beg the crowd to chant NXT for the open” routine.

Paige defeated Alicia Fox in a Women’s Title Tournament Semi-Final Match.

Conor O’Brian (w/Rick Victor) defeated Andy Baker. Baker got a jobber entrance. A little suggestive man-on-man action with Connor & Victor in the corner during the entrance. Connor won. Quick match.

Xavier Woods defeated Scott Dawson. Sylvester Lefort introduced Scott Dawson. Garrett Dylan’s name was still on the Tron. Against Xavier Woods. After “It’s Morphin’ Time,” Woods won.

The crowd got bored during down time and started a “Byron Saxton” chant. I guess it’s better than tourists chanting for their countries like they did at the Impact Zone…

Mason Ryan beat Enzo Amore. Hilarious mic work by Enzo. Ridiculous one punch from Mason put down Amore. Amore complained that he was not ready. Enter Colin Cassady. Ryan made quick (thankfully not as quick) work of Cassidy.

Bo Dallas beat Antonio Cesaro to retain the NXT Title. Partway through the match, Leo Kruger came out. Cesaro had the upper hand the majority of the match, but when Krueger got on the apron Bo threw Cesaro into him and got the pin. During the celebration, they shot smoke down on Bo, then Kruger jumped him. Bo fought off Kruger, but then Cesar jumped Bo. As soon as Bo got the upper hand, Leo came in. Both pounded on Bo until Sami Zayn came out for the save. The dumbass crowd still did the “Ole” chant. I think that’s going to start holding Zayn back if that keeps happening. They continued the “Ole” as they went up the ramp then the crowd booed when Bo held up the belt.

Episode Two:
Brad Maddox and Tom Phillips were on commentary. Kendall Skye got in the ring to announce.

Emma beat Summer Rae in a Women’s Title Tournament Semi-Final Match. Considering they had Emma work heel in Cocoa last month, I expected a heel turn tonight. Summer attacked Emma and Paige ran her off. There was a stare down between Emma and Paige.

Leo Kruger beat Sami Zayn by submission. The lights didn’t go all the way out for Leo’s entrance, which was kinda funny since he just walked out. It probably won’t be obvious on TV. Sami tried to pull as good a match as possible out of Leo. More dumbass O-lays from the crowd.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady beat Mason Ryan in a handicap match. More fun mic work by Amore. “1+1 = 3.14 time to eat your pie.” Clip to the knee from Amore helped Cassidy get the pin. Logic prevailed! The camera missed Amore and Cassidy leaving the stage so they came out and “left” again.

Bray Wyatt came out with The Family. Erick Rowan (aka upside down Sheamus) was wearing his sheep mask. Wyatt cut a promo about Regal and crew.

The Wyatt Family beat Adrian Neville, Corey Graves, and William Regal. Neville played face in peril for quite a long time. Anticlimactic finish with Bray getting the pin. Awesome “Bray Wyatt Eater of Donuts” sign.

An RVD video aired. We then got the occasional RVD chants randomly from some folks near me for the rest of the night.

Episode Three:
Kendall Skye begged the crowd for NXT chants. Unlike two tapings ago, she didn’t piss off the crowd beforehand and got a few. Tony Dawson and William Regal were on commentary. Regal joined while Leo was coming out and wore a t-shirt chugging water to get ready after having just wrestled.

Leo Kruger beat Antonio Cesaro and Sami Zayn in a three-way. Zayn almost took out the tall Chick entering the ring in a near Charlie Haas-Lillian Garcia moment (ok not that bad/close). With Leo out of the ring, Cesaro hit The Neutralizer, then Kruger ran in and threw Cesaro out and got the pin on Zayn.
As Kendall Skye entered the ring, I actually noticed that she hides what she is announcing on a sticky note on the mic. Super suck! This comes back later…

Sylvester Lefort came out to put over Scott Dawson, calling him his protege and a future champion. Against Bo Dallas. Not sure if this happened during the other match but many in the crowd turned their back on Bo during his entrance. Kruger attacked Bo after.

Bailey came out like she had a match. Ric Flair came out and cuts a promo saying he likes Orlando and that he likes to support the up and comers. He announced that his daughter Charlotte was debuting and said he would be in her corner. Charlotte was actually in the six-man at the Cocoa Beach show last month. She looked like an ’80s American Gladiator that time traveled to today to wrestle. She strikes me as unattractive and muscley. Charlotte did a stupid cartwheel outside the ring and then rolled backwards once in the ring. A corny gymnast. Ok, I’m done bashing her.

Charlotte defeated Bailey. Flair threw off his jacket for no reason during the match. A friend pointed out that Flair was wearing sneakers. Charlotte won and did the Flair strut after the match followed by dueling struts.

I got a small post it note chant going for Skye, which actually got her to laugh a little.

Neville and Corey Graves beat The Wyatt Family to win the NXT Tag Titles. The match seemed like it was going to be a paint by numbers tag with Bray interfering, but then Sheamus’s music hit. He took out Bray, then Neville hit the corkscrew and WE HAVE NEW TAG CHAMPS. Sheamus celebrated with the new champs Neville and Graves.

Byron announces that because of what just happened, we would see Bray Wyatt vs. Sheamus tonight!

Episode Four:
Maddox and Phillips were on commentary. Bryon Saxon handled the ring announcing.

Paige defeated Emma to win the NXT Women’s Title tournament. A fun back and forth match, no heel turn yet. Paige won and is your first NXT Women’s Champion. All of the women minus Summer Rae came from the locker room in dresses clapping for Paige.

Triple H’s music hit — nothing to take away from someone else’s moment like coming out after they win a title. Paige cried. He raised her hand, they posed a few times around the ring, then he left. Renee Young came out to interview Paige. It was a mediocre interview. The WWE photographer was walking around the crowd throughout the night and came up near us to get pictures of the win.

Tyler Breeze (Mike Dalton) beat Angelo Hawkins. Dalton was on the stage before his entrance actually began. Dalton filmed himself with his phone the whole time. It was clearly a vanity gimmick. He spent a few minutes (almost literally) in the corner starring at his phone. I imagine this will get edited. Tyler won a short match. He stayed in the ring quite a while doing the stare at his cell phone gimmick after the match. *yawn*

Rick Victor and Conor O’Brian beat Mickey Keegan and Aiden English. Victor and O’Brian were billed as billed as “The Ascension.” There was a great “You Suck” chant at the end of Connor’s song from the crowd. Mickey never got formally tagged in. Ascension won. Many yawned. Let English be funny please!

Bryon announced, “I have just been informed that Tyler Breeze has left the building.”

Sheamus beat Luke Harper. Apparently, they changed their mind on it being Bray Wyatt (or as I later found out Bray may have hurt his arm). Harper busted out his “yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah” gimmick again so guess it’s sticking. This match also appears that it will be on TV. There was a funny moment when Sheamus got Rowan in his little punch gimmick. A friend joked that Sheamus should absorb Rowan’s beard because there can be only one. Sheamus won with the Brogue Kick. Sheamus got credit for staying and greeting fans for quite a while afterward.

Fucking Sheamus being a dick again in NXT. Hope Bray Wyatt is ok.

Dylan and Dawson aren't big enough.

Kind of like that about them. I really liked how Regal sort of went behind the front story of "Sylvester saw them in a fight at a musical festival" and said that there's more to these guys. In a way that was perfectly fine with me (not breaking the fourth wall, but merely pointing out that they are trying to present themselves a certain way -- kind of like mind games) he kind of made their gimmick seem like just that -- a gimmick designed to get them noticed.

I'm not saying they should be beating The Wyatt Family any time soon, but I like that there is an air of mystery about them and their style.

Mr. Nerfect
06-28-2013, 12:48 AM
I guess my point is: If these guys were big, they would be two rednecks who are big, and we've seen that before. The way these guys are presented are sort of like The Eliminators posing as simple rednecks. And they've got a French manager? Weird.

If the rumors of The Briscoe Brothers coming to the WWE are true (and I know you'll hate that, Gertner), I would love to see the "real rednecks" go against these two, on NXT at the very least. The smarky crowd down there would be right into The Briscoes and there's a relaxed style that they have on the mic that I think would fit NXT well.

Mr. Nerfect

Still want Emma to be called up to the main roster as Brad Maddox's assistant. Then she would be the assistant to the assistant of the managing supervisor of Monday Night RAW. They could have some fun with that. Maddox would clearly adore Emma, and Vickie Guerrero, being the jealous cougar that she is would give Emma occasional matches on RAW. Emma would be all mock excited, not expecting the opportunities, but appreciating them nonetheless, only to find out that her opponent is Tamina Snuka or something like that. Emma would upset Snuka and dance only to get attacked post-match. Just harmless little fun Diva segments to get the hot Aussie over.

Bayley should come up with Bray Wyatt and just be a weird brainwashed girl.

Paige can make her debut as "the newest major signing to the Divas Division," win a few matches and then be made fun of by Fandango and Summer Rae in a backstage segment, where Fandango hits on her and then calls her "pasty." Wade Barrett comes to Paige's defense (he'd have issues at the time) and the two would form a make-shift alliance against the dancing duo. They'd win a mixed tag against the heels and Paige would help Barrett finally knock-off Fandango one-on-one. A weird embrace between the two could give Barrett and Paige and dimension and direction as a "Beauty and the Beast" type babyface duo.

Just talked about Aiden English as an understudy to Damien Sandow. I don't now what to really expect from English, but I think he would be fine on the main roster as a henchman and just someone to take falls for Sandow's opponents before Sandow gets in there with them.

Actually wouldn't mind it if Judas Devlin was called up as an anti-Sandow type babyface. I haven't seen him work, but his character sounds pretty intriguing. He's like an intellectual philosophy major that believes in anarchy or something. He could be a modern Raven-type character. He could really get under Sandow's skin. Or he could be another understudy to Sandow, and he and Aiden English could form a heel tag team.

Man, Zeb Colter getting behind a returning Murdoch would be awesome. When you think about it, Colter should really try and have someone going after each title, since there aren't any "Real Americans" holding any of them. Deuce N' Domino are super underrated though

Mr. Nerfect
06-28-2013, 02:51 AM
I never liked Deuce N' Domino. Just never did. I wanted to bang Cherry for some odd reason, and I liked Domino. He would do little things in his matches to try and stand out away from the gimmick. Deuce was like he was an actual greaser, whereas Domino was like "I'm dressing as a greaser, but I'm actually a beast that is just doing this so I have a job." And I mean that in a good way.

My problem is a lot of gimmicks are that it makes no sense as to why that person is a good wrestler. That's what I really dug about Goldust -- he was this talented guy with a great lineage who dressed up like a freak to take your mind off that and fuck with you. When The Boogeyman initially debuted, I could have gone one of two ways on it:

1. OK, he's this big guy who is trained as a wrestler, was going to be a part of this TV show that didn't go ahead, and has now gone so deep into the character that he believes that he's actually this supernatural otherworldly being and actually can't feel pain and freaks the shit out of everyone.

2. He's an actual Boogeyman?

I can suspend disbelief for the first one, but the second one just becomes too cheesy for me. And that's where Fandango is at the moment with me. He's come in as this world class ballroom dancer, and that's fine. Is he actually a dancer, or is he just using the flamboyance to catch his opponents off-guard? He uses his agility and dexterity in his matches, which makes perfect sense. But the WWE could very easily reduce him to comedy gimmick where he's actually a dancer and would rather be dancing than wrestling. So far, all his dancing has been to knock people off their guards or to earn the ire of future opponents (like when he turned on Wade Barrett and threw the match with Jericho and Miz -- seemed stupid at the time, but all of a sudden he was in the Intercontinental Title picture).

One day, I'd like it to come out that Johnny Curtis (or whatever name they eventually decide to give him) was never actually a dancer. He was just a professional wrestler who had all of us and all his opponents fooled. He got opportunities, got a hot woman by his side and took the world by storm.

Mr. Nerfect
06-28-2013, 02:53 AM
I actually loved it when Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks showed up and played awkward male strippers. They hinted at it one week "No, your other job" and then Reks and Hawkins came out in tights made to look like male underwear and Hawkins was so perfectly awkward that it was kind of funny. Reks was more natural, because it had been implied that it was one of his jobs before arriving in the WWE. I don't think it would have worked as a long-term thing, but in the short-term, it was pretty harmless and was a gimmick that was aware of itself.

Mr. Nerfect
06-28-2013, 02:54 AM
Maybe I just hated Deuce N' Domino because I felt they unjustly ruined that epic Tag Team Title reign Paul London & Brian Kendrick were having. Those guys were tearing it up in perfectly fun tag team matches every week, and although they were never in anything major, they would constantly get PPV spots just to warm up the crowd and shit and it worked. They were never super-over, but they did their job and there would have been a time to take the titles off them and go from there.

Mr. Nerfect
06-28-2013, 02:58 AM
London & Kendrick's tag team rivalry with Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch could have really been something, too. Not a draw, but a solid piece of RAW each week to get crowds going and such. It looked like we were once going to get Edge, Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs. Triple H, Paul London & Brian Kendrick or something like that, but then Triple H Pedigree'd London & Kendrick like they were goofs. And of course, in doing that, they did become goofs. Yeah, they both sort of had this "entitlement" issue, but it just seemed so illogical and silly to not capitalise on guys like that and at least give them a shot to deliver.

Kendrick would get the opportunity of a life-time on SmackDown later as one of my favourite characters of all-time, The Brian Kendrick (seriously one of the best things ever that people weren't ready for), but London never really got a chance to even be a jobber after his tag stint with Kendrick. If time heals wounds and both guys can still go, I would not be opposed to seeing London & Kendrick brought up as a babyface tag team. Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns will eventually need babyface to beat, and London & Kendrick are the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all-time. You'd have to explain them to people, but...oh, I give up, I know it will never happen. :(

If fucking Kendrick just stayed off the weed. I honestly think the dude was going to win Money in the Bank at WrestleMania XX. He was a little obnoxious heel that could work, talk, looked pretty and had a big fuck-off bodyguard and was presented as an evil genius. Would have fit him so well.

Mr. Nerfect
06-28-2013, 03:12 AM
I don't really ever want to see people fail, but Deuce never took off for him. Even as Sim Snuka, he was just there. Domino is a guy I'd like to see get another shot. Kind of seemed like there was something there. I liked his idea of being this guy who targeted all the top guys in WWE to make a name for himself. I'm fine with The Shield as it is, but if they wanted to add another guy to its ranks, I mentioned Leo Kruger earlier, but I think Domino could be another good candidate, since he's still working and has managed to keep himself out of TNA and stuff.

Or, imagine some sort of anti-Shield? Leo Kruger, Domino and some other guy who has got a ton of potential, looks the part and isn't going to fuck up. Even someone like Justin Gabriel, who has got the background of being a member of the Nexus and is familiar to the WWE Universe and has got some exciting moves. Kruger and Gabriel are both South African, so they can play off that connection, but that helps Domino stand out (what is his connection to them?).

The Shield would just be celebrating a victory in the ring when suddenly, over the barricade come Gabriel, Kruger and Domino, dressed like The Shield is. Ambrose, Rollins & Reigns have no clue what is going on when Gabriel, Kruger & Domino hit the ring and start brawling with The Shield and clear the ring of them.

The story can be that they're sick of seeing The Shield dominate. Kruger can point out that they've got the trophies and he wants to hunt them. Domino can say that there's targets on their heads and he's here to collect on the bounty their success has built for themselves. Gabriel can say they might be The Hounds of Justice, but they are The Wolves of Vengeance, and they're taking their spot as the most dominant faction in all of WWE. With their South African accents, it might sound weird, but it would kind of give them this otherworldy integrity. Plus, as faces, if they manage to beat The Shield, they can then move on to a feud with The Wyatt Family. There are too many heel factions running around and no one to really challenge them.

Mr. Nerfect
06-28-2013, 03:15 AM
If they don't want to bring back Domino, have Corey Graves do it. He may work better as a loner, but he's familiar with The Shield from their NXT work and having some bigger guys behind him might lend him credibility. His smaller frame could be hidden by some sort of uniform, and despite his lack of size, he's deceptively strong and able to work a faster-paced style and oozes a sort of "hit me and I'll just come back harder" mentality.

Their matches with the Hardyz were tremendous. Loved their Sweet and Sour finisher. They had some nice double team moves. Big E was right, Bo never stops smiling during promos.

 Enzo Amore and that match

What an uppercut by Cesaro to Kruger

I think I read somewhere that it was Dusty Rhodes' idea.

I'll say it quietly.

Bo Dallas is actually pretty good with this new character; he might go somewhere with this deluded, smiley babyface that everybody hates. Talking about being in the Rumble, wrestling at Mania, his Bo-lievers. The crowd were chanting "We The People" during the Main Event and then started chanting for Kruger when he attacked post-match. Looks like they've taken note that nobody likes Bo and used it to their advantage.

Gonna repost something I said to that effect in the Tables, Ladders and Podcast thread...

Bo Dallas is so obviously bad and obviously corny when he cuts a promo I seriously feel like WWE is literally trolling people with his push. Like they're trying to make him into the first "intentional Cena". Which if done right, could be kinda genius/awesome.

Bo Dallas reminds me of what I imagined people must have felt when they saw Rocky Maivia become Intercontinental Champion. Imagine if it turned out that Dallas really does have the talent of his brother to portray a character (remember when Bray Wyatt was just Husky Harris?) and he suddenly became fucking awesome on us.

Christ Cesaro was tremendous in that match, the schoolboy to the outside was great.

I love Paige way too much. That match between her and Alicia Fox was all I ask Divas matches to be. Love how over Paige is.

I can't tell if Bo Dallas is a babyface that is a heel or a heel that is a babyface.

Xavier Woods is so fucking good. He'd make a perfectly good mid-card babyface on the main roster. There's something about Scott Dawson I really like. Where the fuck did that guy come from?

I like the way that Mason Ryan's opponents have formed a bit of a bond in order to try and stop him. It makes sense. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady could be a New York-themed The Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson, a duo I really loved.

I've been impressed with Woods on his last couple of outings, which is impressive given that I couldn't work out why WWE signed him. Again, I don't quite see where he would fit right now.

Just seems that the Main Rosters are full of guys that aren't really going anywhere. The likes of Rhodes, Barrett, Sandow need to move up to declutter the midcard/make room for these new guys.

Actually, a Percy Watson/Xavier Woods tag team would be fun. If, y'know, they hadn't fired Percy Watson :-\

The Antonio Cesaro vs. Bo Dallas match was great. The story told was fantastic. Cesaro did his part perfectly and Kruger was fucking awesome at ringside. Bo Dallas' finisher needs some work, though. Why not let him win matches with a Flatliner? He can hit it out of nowhere like his belly-to-belly suplex, and it's also similar to his brother's Sister Abigail finisher, which could be a little in-joke about their relation.

Watson & Woods would have been great together. The WWE seems to find it hard to make babyface tag teams that are worth a shit.

Would love to see Kruger win an NXT Money in the Bank Ladder Match and stalk Bo Dallas constantly.

Bo Dallas is not entertaining enough to use the Flatliner. Let's not sully a perfectly good finisher.

You're probably thinking of the shitty Downward Spiral / Mic Check / Token Black Guy finisher variations.

All of which are still better than Bo.

I wonder what the general mark thinks if they tune into NXT. How do they put together that Langston is a face in NXT and a heel on the main rosters? And all this stuff with the Wyatt's coming, when they've already been here for months?
