Jamal Tinsley must be on steroids, because he's playing really good.

Hey btw. I want Iverson. I think theirs maybe 3-4 guys in the league with more physical talent then him, but theirs no one in the league with more toughness or heart. I hope Indy someone talks King into taking Stephen Jackson and probably O'neil. Give us Iverson and Korver . Iverson and Tinsley in the backcourt would be sick.

BCWWF

I don't think the Wolves are going to get Iverson. I made a trade that would work on ESPN's trade machine: Hudson, Jaric, Blount for Iverson. I'd do that, but right now there is no point of mixing things up a lot.

I really hope Indiana makes an attempt to trade Jermaine O'neal. I love the guy. He's a good person and he plays hard when he's out there. He's having a good year , but these little ankle and hamstring injuries are pissing me off. Its a constant thing with him. And with Indiana basically going uptempo this season, I think it would make sense for them to try to trade O'neal while he still has value. Three guys i think would fit here perfectly. Ray Allen, Paul Peirce and Allen Iverson. If we got one of those guys, we could make a run for not only the #1 seed in the East, but a championship too. Maybe we could even get rid of Stephen Jackson in the process. Who knows.

First of all, Allen Iverson didn't say shit. An anonymous source said that Iverson said something, and as it has been shown, anonymous sources don't mean anything.

Second, if Jamal Tinsley is the marquee name going to Philly in this trade, I will cut off a testicle and send it to you via UPS.

Gilbert Arenas, Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, Steve Nash, Baron Davis, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, Jason Terry, Deron Williams, Kirk Hinrich, Mike Bibby, Jarrett Jack, Andre Miller, all point guards I would rather have on my team than Jamal Tinsley.

Who gives a shit if he is a "pure point guard?" All that means is that he can't score. If I wanted a guard that can't score, Jason Kidd is 100x the player Tinsley is. And being a "pure point guard" doesn't mean that Tinsley is anything close to Kidd, Nash, Paul etc. If the Sixers were going to trade with Indiana, I am sure there would be a more appealing centerpiece than Tinsley.

Carmelo Anthony is a punk ass bitch for real and Nate Robinson will get his head knocked off literally in the future, cause he's a little punk too. He's lucky Smith only tackled him instead of chin checking him. But Anthony punching Collins and then back trotting from the one end to the other, was probably the funniest thing i've ever seen. LOL, I watched the game live. Nice try though.

RP
12-17-2006, 07:25 AM
You're an idiot then. Let me explain what happend. Cause i've watched the clip 30 times, cause ESPN wears stories out.

First of all lets start with Collins. This guy should be suspended for atleast 5 games. Reason being is because not only did he do this same type of foul tonight, but he did it to Indiana when they were blowing the Knicks out. Same exact foul.

Nate Robinson is a fucking moron and honestly, he probably should get the biggest suspension. If this was a remake of " The Brawl at the Palace ", Nate Robinson would undoubtedly be Stephen Jackson. Once the initial foul and chest bumping accured and Melo and some others entered the picture to kind of break apart people, thats when Nasty Nate single handedly boiled this thing over. If you watch the clip. He starts jumping around with his chest out and his fists balled like he's ready to fight someone, then takes a swing at Smith, which made Anthony kind of take a swing/reach for him, then Smith tackled Robinson into the fans. Was funny too, cause Robinson was acting like big shit when he took that swing, then Smith tackled his small ass. Robinson should get alot of the suspension. If not, then the league is stupid.

Your boy " Melo " might be the dumbest basketball player alive tonight. Things were calm and everyone seemed to be getting seperated and this dumb ass walks around and punches Collins in the face for no reason . Collins never touched him. Infact they may have had some words, but Collins had 2 people holding him back and they were seperated by like 5 people. "MELO " proceeds to walk around this whole group and punch this guy.. which btw.. you remember this picture?

http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20061217/capt.msg10912170346.aptopix_nuggets_knicks_basketball_msg109.jpg

That happend about 15-20 seconds before his actual " punching " of Collins. Jeffries was clearly trying to seperate everyone in the clip, but ofcourse, you being the lone Nugget fan on here, you would post a picture and try to convice people that Anthony was provoked in it. Bull shit. You're the worst fan ever.

The funniest moment of the night tho. As soon as Anthony punched Collins. That fucking coward practically took off running down the other end. Pretty understandable actually cause as soon as he punched the guy, Jared Jeffries turned into Earl Cambell on the basketball court and took off after him. I'm almost positive that if Jeffries didnt have to run someone over to get to Anthony ( who was basically sprinting away like a child who just broke something and didnt want to get in trouble for it ), Jeffried may have murdered Carmelo Anthony right there in MSG.

Carmelo Anthony is a fucking coward. Atleast Stephen Jackson has the balls to run up into the fucking Detroit crowd and throw multiple punches and not give a fuck if he gets his shit split. Anthony, the fake thug he is, took off running down the fucking court like a coward. What a fag. I'm glad he's on your team, cause you can say what you want about the Pacers and there on/and off court problems, but non of them are cowards. They throw a punch, they'll stand there and get punched back like men if they have to. They dont fucking go running across the court like a pussy. Heres something you wont see reported on ESPN. CARMELO ANTHONY IS A PUSSY.

One more thing. If there arent suspension of 15 and 30 fucking games like they did to the Pacers, then fuck the NBA and fuck David Stern. Theirs no difference. I know some might say " well Artest and Jackson struck fans " yah i get that, but a punch is a punch is a punch. A brawl is a brawl and brawling in the fans seats is brawling in the fans seats. Theirs no difference. Whether intentionally or accidently, they put the fans in danger and they had an all out brawl. That was the whole point of the Palace suspensions. If David Stern all of a sudden developes this double standard, then he needs to resign his position.

LOL Jeffries runs over one guy who was still holding Melo by his jersey at the time. Then Melo pretty much takes off running, then Jeffries dragged like 5 people for about 10 feet, trying to get to Anthony. And by then, tho the camera didnt show it, i'm sure Anthony was in the nose bleed seats hiding.

It's funny how there is a bitch fight in basketball and the world is stopping, but in the NHL fighting is essentially encouraged. I mean yeah, you get a penalty, but it's not like you can't stop a fight before it happens, and it's not like standing in a circle and watching is the most effective way to stop it while it's going on. Suspensions total 47 games from Knicks-Nuggets fightESPN.com news services

NEW YORK -- The Denver Nuggets were the bigger losers Monday after the NBA handed out penalties in the fight that broke out near the end of Saturday night's game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Denver's Carmelo Anthony, the NBA's leading scorer, was suspended 15 games for sucker-punching the Knicks' Mardy Collins. Denver teammate J.R. Smith and New York's Nate Robinson also received the stiffest of penalties issued by the league -- 10-game suspensions.

But there was no separate penalty for Knicks coach Isiah Thomas, who had warned Anthony not to go into the lane before the mayhem started Saturday night.

Both franchises were fined $500,000.

"It is our obligation to take the strongest possible steps to avoid such failures in the future and to make a statement to all who follow the game of basketball that we understand our obligations and take them seriously," NBA commissioner David Stern said in a statement.

Collins, whose hard foul of Smith was the flashpoint for the fight, was suspended for six games. Knicks forward Jared Jeffries was suspended for four games, and New York's Jerome James and Denver's Nene were hit with one-game penalties for leaving their respective benches during an on-court altercation.

The NBA is still trying to repair its image after the brawl between Indiana Pacers players and Detroit Pistons fans two years ago.

Thanks for reminding me again ESPN. Remind me 10,000 more times so i dont forget when I BLINK MY FUCKING EYES!

I look at Utah as a bit better than that Seattle team, because if I remember the big men on Seattle were like Jerome James. I think AK47, Boozer and Mehmet are a real solid frontcourt, so they have the potential to go a bit further. I'm still not sure if they have what it takes to get beyond the Western Conference finals though, I just can't see them beating the Spurs, Mavs or Suns, maybe even the Lakers, four times.

Supposed deal reached for Iverson between Nuggets and 76ers

Nuggets get:
Iverson

76ers get:
Andre Miller
Joe Smith
2 2007 First Round Picks

I'm meh on the trade. I don't like Iverson because until he plays for you, you have no idea if he's gonna fit into your offensive system. But he will play hard for you every night.

Miller is good, Smith is so-so and the 2 first round pick imo don't mean much because the NBA draft is usually on 5-10 deep in terms of actual NBA ready players

Not for a while. It's a good month until Melo comes back.

I don't know how this will work out. I never thought AI would be a good fit in Denver because AI and Melo both shoot a lot, and miss a lot. I guess we'll see. The place where AI could have been the best was Minnesota, because him and KG would compliment each other great, but I'm glad we didn't give up a shit tonn for him.

Really, it doesn't seem like Denver gave up too much. Andre Miller is expendable, Joe Smith is shit, and for a team like that which is going to be good for a while, first round draft picks aren't as important as if say the Wolves or Warriors made a similar trade.

And attacking me for not watching your team still doesn't address the actual issue, that AI and Melo both have the same strengh (shooting) and the same weakness (everything else). Both are one dimentional players, and quite frankly I think it will hurt Melo to have to share all of his shots with AI and to not have a good point guard to help set him up. AI gets six assists a game by default, he is not going to help create opportunities for Melo.

You know why I'm accusing you of not watching my team? Because you have no clue about Carmelo's offensive game. Melo's offense doesn't come from just shooting, 90% of it comes from posting up. After he posts he either passes, drives, or sometimes, emphasis on sometimes, steps back and takes a jumper. So how the hell does he need a PG to set him up? Also, all this shit about how those two are going to get their shots makes me laugh. The Nuggets average 85 shots a game. There will be plenty of shots to go around.

That Indiana/Detroit game last night was amazing. Probably one of the best games of the season. Indiana lead big early, then Detroit went on a monster run and had a big lead, then Indiana went on a monster run ( 19-4 ) and had a big lead, then Detroit came back and basically tied it ( or were down by 3 ) because Billups drilled a halfcourt shot at the 3rd qrt buzzer. Indiana ended up winning on a Darrell Armstrong free throw with .9 seconds to go. Heck of a game. Huge win for Indiana, they're starting to put something together here. If they beat Charlotte tonight, then this could be a good run for them and maybe get them back in one of the top spots in the east.

SOooo...went to the Wolves game tonight, probably one of the most fun I've been to. Partly because they actually won (against a good team, in San Antonio), but we also had some fun afterwards.

We were walking away, pretty happy after the OT win (soooo rare for the Wolves), so we decide to try to find Eva Longoria, who was on the big screen but we couldn't see her. First, there was a big garage opening and guys were bringing out a bunch of tricked out Escalades, Land Rovers, even a Mazzeratti, obviously the Timberwolves cars. Then we headed over to where some people were standing and realized this is where the Spurs would be leaving. We took a perch on a rail and waited. Then she came.

EVA LONGORIA!!!! SOOOO HOT! She walked out first, before any players, wearing tight black pants and a long black sweater. Nobody could sign autographs because they already went thru security for the flight home, but she waves (made eye contact, bitch) and was SOOOOO hot.

The Spurs were actually a pretty cool team to see, because you can recognize just about all of their players. Most times you go to an NBA game you are like "OK, there is the star, and I recognize that guy, but I don't care." With the Spurs you are like "Whoa, Ginobili, Duncan, Parker, Bowen, Horry, Bonner, Finley, Popovich even."

Anyway, it's just crazy to see those players so close. Like Popovich was funny, he said something to everybody and asked the security guard if he could do autographs. Tony Parker was kinda lame, some African guy next to me yelled at him in French. Bruce Bowen looks scary as shit, and he is HUGE. Much taller than I thought. Duncan didn't acknowledge me comment about his shaving cream commercials, so I continue to hate him. As for Eva, on the way out we looked up at the bus window and Eva and Tony were sitting in some seat looking at a palm pilot or something, so my friend knocked on the window and she waved again.

Not a bad night for basketball, in my opinion.

Also, Randy Foye is now the NBA's Rookie of the Year. He is starting to play amazing now. Even though he's not starting, he is essentially the primary point guard. I trust him more than KG down the stretch.

From Wikipedia:

Starting with The 2006/07 Season opener, The Lakers began a marketing campaign titled "Lights Out" to promote the new lighting configuration for their games in which the arena's lights are almost exclusively focused on the court, reminiscent of the team's Forum days.

Wolves have been playing great for three quarters, holding on in the fourth and coming out in overtime. Not great, but if this holds up I like what is happening.

As for the Nuggets, it is hard to say what will happen with Carmelo gets back. As of right now, they are essentially the 76ers.

If Karl can get the team to play together, they have the potential to be awesome, but I really don't think that is an easy task. AI is going to control the ball and shoot a lot, and by now he is probably getting comfortable on the Nuggets. So when you add in Carmelo, who also wants to shoot the ball a lot, it is going to take time to gel. But with the post guys and the potential of JR Smith, if Karl can do it, this could be a good team.

I don't think he can.

Carmelo really can't seem to get a break. When he first came into the league I didn't like him because he was such a thug, but then after last year he was apparently on track in life and working hard, but now I don't know what to believe.

If the Nuggets can find a way to get tonns of points from Melo and AI, play defense, and keep Camby healthy, they are legit. No. 2 is the only one I am confident they can manage though.

Also, it was reported in the Star Tribune that Marco Jaric is going to be traded for one of the Piston's big men: Nazr, Dale Davis or McDyess. Personally, I would like McDyess because Davis's contract doesn't match up, and McDyess can be an FA after this year. Any move to get rid of Jaric, as long as it doesn't take on a long term deal, is great. His absense has made the Wolves good.

EDIT: Here it is from Yahoo!

Kobe changed his jersey to start the second half of his career sort of like a fresh start. All the drama of Shaq, the Colorado case, etc will end with the number 8. He chose the number 24 to show his hard work ethic which is 24 hours a day. Saying that he works 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Kobe and Odom is 24/7. It also helps if changing your number will also increase your jersey sales

Pacers, Warriors swing 8-player trade
January 17, 2007

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indiana Pacers traded Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday for forwards Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy as part of an eight-player deal designed to shake up two struggling teams.

The Pacers also sent guard Sarunas Jasikevicius and forward Josh Powell to the Warriors, who gave up forward Ike Diogu and guard Keith McLeod.

"We feel we made a pretty significant trade for the franchise that will be good for both teams," Pacers president Larry Bird said in a statement. "We feel the players we got will make a significant difference in the franchise."

Murphy, Dunleavy and Diogu had been reduced to high-priced backups for failing to measure up to new coach Don Nelson's expectations this season, while Jackson was dogged by legal troubles in Indiana.

Jackson, in his third season with the Pacers, faces felony charges in Indianapolis, accused of firing a gun during a fight outside a strip club. A judge scheduled a Feb. 12 trial for Jackson and another man who is accused of driving a car that hit Jackson during the Oct. 6 fight outside Club Rio on the city's west side.

Jackson, who is averaging 14.1 points per game this season, has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of criminal recklessness and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct. He is free on $10,000 bond pending trial.

The criminal recklessness charge carries a prison term of six months to three years.

Harrington was in his second stretch with the Pacers after being acquired in a trade from Atlanta in August. He is averaging 15.9 points per game this season.

Jasikevicius, in his second season with the Pacers, is averaging 7.4 points per game, and Powell has appeared in seven games.

Dunleavy, in his fifth season, averaged 11.4 points per game, and Murphy, a sixth-year veteran from Notre Dame, is averaging 8.9 points per game. Second-year player Diogu is averaging 7.2 points in 17 games, and McLeod, in his fourth season, averaged 5.3 points per game.

The players acquired from Golden State are expected to be on the bench when the Pacers host the New York Knicks Saturday night in Conseco Fieldhouse.

Jesus if they wanted to lose this bad they should've done this sooner so we could potentially be in the Oden sweepstakes if he decides to come out early.

To make it clear:

Pacers Get:
Troy Murphy
Mike Dunleavy
Ike Diogu
Keith McLeod

Warriors Get:
Stephen Jackson
Al Harrington
Sarunas Jasikevicius
Josh Powell

Personally, I don't think it is that bad. They needed to get rid of Jackson, giving up up Harrington too might be a little much, but in return they got three guys who will definitely play for them.

KingofOldSchool
01-17-2007, 07:31 PM
I don't really care that they got rid of Jackson, but Harrington???

What the fuck???

Next thing you know they are going to send Jermaine O'Neal to the Knicks for Nikoloz Tskitishvili.

BCWWF
01-17-2007, 07:57 PM
Is Tskidi still in the league? I thought he was either on the Suns or gone, (beyond the point).

I was going to look at the salaries to see if the Pacers inherited any good ones, but Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy are signed for like five more years and getting a lot of money. I dunno, I guess they really wanted to get rid of Jackson. Harrington and Jackson have four years left, but definitely better contracts than the other two.

I guess what I would say is that the Pacers really weren't going anywhere with Harrington and Jackson. They really aren't going anywhere now either, but they just got a lot younger and a lot better behaved. As for Jermaine, he is overrated. He is the face of the franchise, but if they did want to trade him, they could probably get a lot. Realistically though, he is going to need another really good player (ie like a Wade or Arenas type) to ever win a championship.

KingofOldSchool
01-17-2007, 10:41 PM
On Yahoo's roster page it says he's with the Knicks, I just picked some random white guy.

The only guys they really should've gotten rid of were Jax and Tinsley. They could've gotten a couple of veterans with expiring contracts in return. Then they could go after a top FA in the off season. It just seems like they are throwing in the towel already.

Harrington has been horrible this year, plus he was starting to bitch and complain.

Donnie Walsh is incredible. This deal had his name written all over it. Somehow he managed to get rid of Stephen Jackson. Simply amazing.

I think this is apart of a bigger deal. I cant see this deal being a deal that sets the team up for a run. I think something bigger is in the works. Maybe including Jason Kidd. I dunno.

BCWWF

Its being reported all over the place and when they asked the Nets GM if he was shopping Kidd, he didnt comment whether he was or not. Its no secret that the Nets are shopping Kidd, Carter and Jefferson to see what deals are out there.

I could see something along the lines of Tinsley, Dunleavy and Foster maybe for Kidd and another player.

I dunno, this is my speculation, but its not secret the Nets are shopping him.

I don't really see why the Nets would have any interest in Dunleavy. Richard Jefferson and Vince Carter play the same position and a lot better. If there was some sort of a deal, it would definitely include Tinsley, but I would think Ike and somebody else. I still don't really see that happening though.

How about this one:
Jermaine O'Neal for Richard Jefferson and Nenad Krstic

HA.

I would think the Nets are more likely to trade Jefferson than anybody else on their team though.

I mean granted Harrington hasn't been playing like he COULD be playing so far, he is still a lot better than Murphy and Dunleavy.

And I would hate for the Pacers to get rid of Jeff Foster, he contributes a lot more to the Pacers than what people give him credit for. Granted he's not a scorer, but he makes up for it in heart. I know that sounds cliche but they need a guy like Foster right now. Not to mention he's a pretty good defender

If anything they need to get a decent SG right now. I think Granger is developing to be a pretty good SF, but they are going to shift in to SG to make room for Dunleavy in the SL. I was hoping they could've swung a deal for Corey Maggette instead.

For now I see them shifting Granger to SG and having a lineup like this

C: Foster
PF: O'Neal
SF: Dunleavy
SG: Granger
PG: Tinsley

Now if Dunleavy can play at least 10x's better than he did in GS, then I can forgive Bird/Walsh for the trade. I just don't see that happening, I see two guys who never lived up to their potential eating up a shit load of cap space for the next 4 years.

BCWWF
01-18-2007, 01:03 PM
It seems to me like Dunleavy and Granger are the same player, that is part of the reason I don't like this trade. I would have preferred a good jump shooter to compliment Granger and Tinsley.

Granger is developing into a better player than Dunleavy as well.

BCWWF

Yeah, if I had to choose one it would be Granger. He seems just as capable of a player but like five years younger.

RP
01-18-2007, 02:54 PM
In the next 2 years or so, Granger will be a beast.

I think you're underestimating Troy Murphy here. He's a very solid player. He give you 10 rebounds a game and he's a shooter. Could play the PF or SF position also. I guess they are banking on Dunleavy to develope alot more now that he's away from the Golden St. situation. Its a gamble, but i trust Bird and i trust Donny Walsh with my life if it came down to making a great trade in the long run. Donny Walsh knows what he's doing. Ike Diogu is the wild card. He might develope into a Carlos Boozer type player. He's really good and from what i've read, he wasnt given playing time because Nelson liked to play up tempo basketball.

Anways. I think theirs another trade in the works. Its just odd that this happend so fast and the long contracts are odd also. I just get the feeling something else in the works. Maybe ship Dunleavy over to the Clippers for Maggette. I dont know. Something is wrong here. Its odd that we picked up those two contracts. I like both players, but it just seems odd. I know Indiana wanted Diogu and i'm guessing he's a lock to stay, but something else has to be up here. I just have this feeling. Could be wrong. Who knows.

I was the only one who stood by Kobe in the year after Shaq left. Everybody was like, "Oh hey, Shaq is so much better of a player, the Heat are good and the Lakers average." But that was so stupid. Even now, Kobe doesn't have nearly the supporting cast as Dirk, Duncan, Nash and T-Mac, but his team is right up there. Kobe is probably the best player in the league, based on talent alone, and he definitely is capable of winning another championship at some point without Shaq.
