Let me tell you something about this Detroit game. On the last drive by Lebron there was very minimal contact that could have been considered a foul. But let me tell you who is the idiot here.

Mike Brown. I understand you get upset about your team. But let's say that Hamilton makes both FT's. You still get enough time to get out of bounds and try to do a quick play. But the problem is, his technical results in a free free throw (pretty much automatic with Billups) and instead of being down 1 with a chance of the lead being 3 at max, you are done 2 and if Rip makes both you lose. Just another reason why Mike Brown is not a great coach

He's black dude, what do you expect from a black coach? I'm joking. Once again, I am not looking forward to a Pistons/Spurs series.

So, who else thought it was sort of eerie that Detroit has won the first two games against Cleveland by a score of 79-76 each game? Not that it matters. Our winning ways WILL continue until we hoist the NBA Championship trophy high in a couple, three weeks.:y:

I'm not one to bitch about calls in the NBA. But The treatment Derek Fisher got last night because of the bullshit the refs give the Spurs is downright terrible. Yes on the hard foul at the end of the game it was a foul. But Ginoboli flops like it was the end of the world. And the technical against Fisher for bumping Ginoboli. Fuck off

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing this bullshit. The funny thing about Tayshaun Prince is that he does not complain about anytime he gets fouled. Did anyone see that when Gibson made that shot in the 2nd quarter they called a foul on Hamilton and Gibson TOTALLY FLOPPED. There was no contact whatsoever except for his Reggie Miller kick my leg in the air in an attempt to create contact (no offense RP it's just who Doug Collins referred to it as). Yah i saw that too. Laughed a little. Reggie does it much more smoother. I actually thought Prince was getting hacked all night with no calls. Pretty insane.

But ultimately Billups chocked that game away down the stretch. The Pistons still could have won. I'm suprised they didnt put Flip Murray in as bad as Billups was playing. That pull up 3 to try and draw contact with like 2 minutes left in a 2 possession game was absolutely brutal. He should have been yanked right there lol.

Based on nothing, I would assume the potential suitors for Kobe would be big markets and probably in the east. I would say New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Boston, maybe.

Kobe Bryant will be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers next year. Starting to think that this is all a big ploy to get Jerry West back in LA. He doesn't want to be traded that bad. He's pissed, he's frustrated, and I can't blame him one bit. But he'll settle down. I hope. Even if Kobe wins, no doubt about it, I'll still be a Lakers fan. This day has been really, really scary. There is no way the Lakers could get equal value for Kobe. The dude is 29, mad experience, best player in the world. The only equal value I could imagine would either be Wade or Lebron, and we all know that's not gonna happen.

Deal No. 1: Phoenix trades Shawn Marion, Leandro Barbosa, Marcus Banks and the rights to Atlanta's 2008 first-rounder to the Lakers for Kobe and Radmanovic. (http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=110%7E1016%7E2165%7E2166%7E510&teams=21%7E21%7E13%7E13%7E13)

BCWWF
05-31-2007, 01:03 AM
It wouldn't make any sense for the Suns to make that trade. Marion is a top 10 player in the league and key to what they do. The Suns don't need a high profile shooting guard, any random guy they put in there can be a near all star.

I also don't think Kobe will be traded. It just doesn't make sense. In reality, I don't think the Lakers have done a bad job personnel-wise. I guess trading Caron Butler was a big deal since he was Kobe's best friend, but there was no reason to have him on that team. Then the other issue was that the Lakers missed out on Jason Kidd and Ron Artest. First, the Lakers need is a dominant post player, not a pass-first point guard. Second, Ron Artest at this point is only a slight upgrade from Lamar Odom. Neither would have driven the Lakers to the finals.

The Lakers have done a good job, in my opinion, with Bynum and Kwame. Both players are young with good potential and are exactly what they need. Getting guys like that is a lot better than signing free agents like Jamal Magliore or something. It takes time to build a good NBA team and it is near impossible to land a free agent big man the caliber they need.

I like it. I like Jim O'Brien. Considering what he did with Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce, he should be a nice fit.

There wasnt many other coaching canidates out there. We werent getting Donovan cause he was leaving Florida unless the pro job was somewhere in Florida.

Stan Vangundy isnt that great of a coach. Still very unproven.

I wasnt really sold on Sam Mitchell

Gambling with a fresh face like Mark Jackson or someone would be way to risky with the state that the franchise is in.

O'Brien loved the 3 ball..Walker loved the 3 ball, it was bound to happen.

He wasn't the only one getting in on the act though, Walter McCarty made a living shooting 3's from the corner (No he seriously made a living that way, he got paid $3 mil to make one or two 3's from the corner ever game) Celtics where pretty fun to watch then, Kenny Andersen running the point with Pierce and Walker taking care of most of the scoring. Now I am forced to watch a bunch of players who aren't that good "but they are young and have potential!" except for the vast majority it is a potential to be an average player or a role player. Al Jefferson is the only lock to be a real good player, Rondo could surprise some people and possibly Gerald Green (although I am starting to think he was a bit overhyped)

Since he can do just about everything, you don't want a PG who dribbles the ball too much, a SG who shoots too much, and it seems like LeBron's ability to go inside makes it hard to put a dominant big man in there. I think LeBron almost requires a new setup, something the NBA isn't used to.

I say they either need to put him at PG so he can actually control the game and then focus on a new SF to help with the scoring. Either that or else use LeBron like Phoenix uses Shawn Marion. They aren't the same player, but I think LeBron either has to be in a position to do everything for the Cavs or else become really good at low-post with the ability to step out.

Lebron was passing the ball way to much last night. He didnt look like he wanted to take over a game. He look scared.

I agree RP Lebron does act scared, I think he also wants to show hes an unselfish player, but hes been passing and not taking it to the hole WAY too much.

ROFL mrslackalack. And it's Howard, not Howards. I heard it's Mike James for Juwan Howard. But i could give a shit about that trade. I want LAL to make some fuckin moves. You can make moves after the finals are done, right? or is it July 1st?

I really like that trade for the Wolves. Getting rid of James, an average, veteran backup guard, for an average, veteran, backup forward is really what the Wolves needed. Plus, Howard has a shorter contract. The trade won't make the Wolves a contender, but it is getting rid of one of the bad pieces and replacing it with a veteran role player.

Mike James is a very underated player in my opinion. He put up many 30 plus pt games with the raptors back in 06. It seemed MIN wasnt the fit for him. Charles Barkley said before he thinks Mike James has All-Star potential.

Id say the Lakers HAVE to make a big time trade or deal this offseason.

J Oneal. I like the Lakers chances to get him. I have heard its between the Lakers and Knicks for him and the Lakers have been offering better trades. Whats holding this up is who the Pacers would get as they want Odom, Bynum or both

Billups. The Pistons said their #1 goal this offseason was to resign Billups. But word was out many Pistons players wanted Flip Saunders fired yet Dumars confirmed Saunders is returning next season so you never know.

KG. I think KG will one day get fustrated and demand a trade. I dont know if the Lakers would be the favorite to get him but they would be a contender.

Kidd. The Lakers actually could have had him before the trade deadline this season but refused to give up Bynum in the deal.

Marion. Supposely Steve Kerr wants to trade Shawn Marion to free up cap room and the T-Wolves, Celtics, Bulls, and Lakers have all been rumored to be interested.

so, there is a rumor going around..

Garnett to the celtics for
Green, Jefferson, Telfair, Ratliff and the #5 pick.

I understand the thought behined this... but I think it's a horrible idea... the feeling is if the Celtics get the #5 pick, the team has young players and by the time they're ready Pierce would be to old.

I'd rather deal Pierce for young talent then Green, Jefferson and the #5 for 31yr old Garnett.

dont get me wrong, garnett comes here, I'll watch... but does Garnett and Pierce put Boston in the Eastern Confrence finals?
