Wizards dont have their marquee player.

MTH15

Agent 0. I dont care we should still own the CAVS. They should all jump Lebron James and injure him so they can win. Is gilbert coming back?

He's out for the season unfortunately for the Wizards.

Damn that was a hell of a game between DEN and SAS.

Ninti the Mad
04-22-2007, 11:28 PM
Didnt get to catch it unfortunately. :(

Same thing happened last year too. Denver took first game.

I am not surprised considering the main starters took the last 3 games off of the season so there should be some rust.

The Nuggets are a totally different team than two years ago. Melo has gotten better and better, we have better shooters, and a guy named Allen Iverson.

Holy shit. The Warriors kicked the Mavs' ASS. GO WARRIORS

Ninti the Mad
04-23-2007, 01:20 AM
I saw.

Same thing as San Antonio though. They rested alot of their guys while teams like GS were fighting to keep their seed in the playoffs.

I expect Dallas to come back strong although I'd rather they lose.

SammyG
04-23-2007, 01:24 AM
the Warriors really match up well with them. I think Warriors can win this shit.

I expect Dee-troit to continue getting rid of the Magic tonight. They seemed to dominate early, but fall off towards the end. Hope that isn't a sign of the future, but I do hope the Pistons continue on.

THERES STILL A CHANCE INDIANA!!!!!!!!!!

Bird would still trade the pick and JO to the Knicks for Steve Francis and Spike Lee.

RP

I'm hearing that rumor and i highly doubt Indiana lets JO go without David Lee and possibly Jamaal Crawford being involved.

I'm hearing that rumor and i highly doubt Indiana lets JO go without David Lee and possibly Jamaal Crawford being involved.

I'd rather take NY's 1st rounder than anything, because if we do lose our 1st round pick then we're even more screwed.

I think this trade could work.

Knicks get JO, Tinsley, and Pacers 3rd round pick

Pacers get NY's 1st round pick and Jamaal Crawford

but if the Pacers keep their 1st round pick I could see the Knicks getting JO and Tinsley for Lee, Crawford, and a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

There is talks that the Pacers are going to try to get Sam Mitchell away from Toronto after the playoffs.

I'm hearing Mark Jackson also, but either one of them will be success imo.

I dont think the Knicks even have a first rounder.

Also, if we dont get a top 3 pick, it goes to Atlanta and possibly would be used for Mike Conely or Acie Law. That makes me sick.

RP
04-24-2007, 07:44 PM
Yah Knicks dont have a lottery pick thanks to the greatness that is Isaiah Thomas.

RP
04-24-2007, 07:45 PM
I'm pretty sure if Thomas wants JO as bad as people are saying, we could hijack him for Lee, Fry, and Crawford before he even realizes it.

RP
04-24-2007, 07:48 PM
Mitchell's contract expires after the playoffs so its very possible that he might become our next coach unless the Pacers do something incredibly stupid like not fire Rick Carlisle.

I thought that pick was Top 10 protected and not Top 3?

RP
04-24-2007, 07:56 PM
I also thought this, but then i read that the lottery works like this..

Ping pong balls are drawn for the top 3 picks. Obviously worst record has the most balls and so on. Once the first 3 picks are decided, pick 4-30 go in order of win-loss records. The Pacers have the 11th worst record in the league. So unless they get a top 3 pick, it goes to Atlanta.

Smoke a bowl to get rid of that sickness that you're feeling in your stomach right now after hearing about that. I know i had to. Coulda had Conley as our PG. Damn shame.

I don't think Conley will be any good without Oden.

Now I would've loved to seen any of the Florida guys in a Pacers uniform, especially Horford or Brewer.

What sucks even more is that we don't have a 2nd round pick.

SammyG

RP
04-25-2007, 03:22 PM
Carlisle officially stepped down as the Pacers coach, but is considering remaining with the team. Thats good. He had to take the fall and his offense was horrible. I hope maybe he remains an assistant of some type cause he was fantastic when Bird coached the team to the finals. But he'll get a job somewhere else. Probably Seattle.

He probably owns the best coaching job done in the last 10-15 years when he coached the Pacers to the playoffs with Fred Jones, Anthony Johnson and Jeff Foster. After the brawl. That still is amazing to me how he managed to get us that far that season.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
04-26-2007, 01:32 AM

When does the lottery happen? I know its usually half time of a playoff game.

SammyG
04-26-2007, 02:48 PM
I dunno. But it looks like the Lakers are interested in Jermaine O'Neal. Too bad our GM is an idiot and wont get him, becaues the Pacers will ask for Bynum. And we seem to think he is our savior or something

RP
04-26-2007, 05:03 PM
You wont get him cause Bynum is the only other player thats worth a damn on that team.

Damn, Detroit/Orlando Game 3 has been physical. 3 of the Pistons have been tech'd and 1 Orlando player has as well. Lots of shoving all over the place.

BCWWF
04-26-2007, 11:14 PM
Personally, I wouldn't trade Bynum for O'Neill. Jermaine still has some years left and is still a good player, but he isn't Kevin Garnett or Tim Duncan, who he is always paired in the same league as. He would definitely improve most teams but not to the point that you trade a promising young big man for him. I honestly think the best place for him is the Knicks.

SammyG
04-27-2007, 02:19 AM
Amazing game. Nice to see Kobe getting major help by Kwame and Odom. Let's keep this momentum up and tie this shit up now.

DaveWadding

Nice to see the Suns give up after 8 minutes. Way to play hard guys! Meh, they could afford the rest.

RP
04-27-2007, 12:34 PM
I have a funny feeling about the Lakers/Suns series. I think the Lakers might come back.

I've never seen O'Neal paired with Garnet or Duncan as being in the same league.

SammyG
04-27-2007, 12:45 PM
I hope so. Game 4 is gonna be huge. We need a W fo sho. We put Shammond Williams on Barbosa for a long time, and it was pretty effective. I dont know why we played Smush for such a long time, but whatever. It was pretty ROFL when the announcers said Smush is in for defense. Jordan Farmar is really impressive in this series so far.

"Get me some help" - Kobe Bryant right after the game

Didn't you have help in the form of Shaq? Only to purpose an ultimatum of "If you keep Shaq I'm leaving" for the front office?

SammyG
05-03-2007, 08:05 PM
GOD, you're an idiot. OUR GM is the one who wanted to get rid of Shaq. Shaq demanded a trade, and our GM wanted to trade him.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
05-03-2007, 09:35 PM
I guess it did go both ways between Shaq and Kobe, but he did have help and couldn't deal with another big ego on the team (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1648431) I am sure both Kobe and Shaq had the same feelings about not wanting to play with each other, but the Lakers front office effectively canned Phil Jackson (although that might not be totally true) and Shaq so Kobe would re-sign. I don't understand why Jackson went back to the Lakers, especially after slamming Kobe in his book. Its also weird to see that it is working out (well, at least their are no off the court issues)

Pistons whipped up on the Bulls Saturday, and I hope they do again tonight, especially since I'm going. $40 for 3rd row upper level doesn't seem too bad.

That was a championship worthy game by the Pistons last night. The way the first half went, I didn't think they would pull it off, but they did. Can't count out the Pistons, and they will be NBA champions.

Monday's game was fun. I actually had a Bulls fan sitting next to me, but he was prettty quiet all night. He would clap some when Chicago did well, but he was kept humbled most all night.

The NBA needs to decide what they want out of their playoffs. If they want to have teams like Golden State make a real run and actually have a chance at winning, they need to get rid of seven game series' in each round. If they want to keep seven game series' they might as well just slash four teams from each side because it is pretty obvious that none of the bottom seed teams matter.

BCWWF

What does it matter. That is the only time it has ever happened and Golden State had nothing in the second round. You might as well actuallly reward Dallas for working their ass off the whole year and throw out the first round. Dallas was easily one of the best teams in the league but working hard in the regular season hurt them. That's bullshit. Not to say that Golden State didn't match up well against then either, but that's beyond the point.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
05-24-2007, 01:24 AM
That is what the playoffs are about though, Dallas got a huge advantage by busting their ass in the regular season - they got to play the lowest seed in the west and have homecourt advantage through out the playoffs. It's quite clear. The NBA does not have enough good teams to support a 16-team playoff format. Even in this one, totally abnormal year when an 8 seed beat a 1 seed, Golden State still had no chance at winning the championship. They got blown out in the second round. Why not just cut the shit out and actually reward the teams who did well in the regualar season. Considering the fact that teams with losing records have made the NBA playoffs each of the last however many years, I don't know how you can argue that having 16 teams is even close to neccessary.

Cut out the eight worst teams, put more emphasis on the regular season and don't waste your time waiting for another fluke like Golden State. Yeah, it was somewhat cool at the time, but since they accomplished absolutely nothing after beating Dallas, who gives a shit?

Your whole argument is based around low seeds doing well all the time, and that cannot be further from the truth.

Your whole argument is based around low seeds doing well all the time, and that cannot be further from the truth. So you want to make it like baseball where teams truly have no chance at all of ever winning?

Knicks made it to the finals as an 8th seed I think like 8 years ago, I dunno - teams have absolutely no shot of winning I guess so why not make it interesting? I'm personally not a big fan of regular season champions, especially when the season is 82 games long. It's not like it was unfair and the Mavericks had to play the 2 seed in the first round or something. The playoffs are the most exciting time for any sport - why limit them? I also don't get how you can say Golden State had no shot of winning the championship and somehow the Mavs did - when the Warriors beat them in a 7 game series. It's not like they upset them in one game or something.

They could make it so the top 16 teams make it regardless of conference, that'll never happen, but I think that could be better. However, it would be impossible to schedule the regular season fairly due to the number of teams/number of games. (Since right now, West teams play West teams 4 times, and East teams twice and vice versa)

Crimson
05-24-2007, 10:10 PM
It's fine the way it is.. actually it would be better if the 1sy round was still 5 games. I'd probably make the 1st 2 rounds 5 games..more chance of upsets. But it would be stupid for the NBA to limit to 8 teams in the playoffs overall..I mean I understand that some teams that make it have a slim chance at a championship but the fact that they make it to the playoffs is an accomplishment that helps them rebuild for the next year, and it helps the teams raise ticket prices for more revenue:|
