Well shit. We play the Sixers next, but O'Neil had a knee injury tonight, so if we can somehow find a way to lose to the Sixers, we play the Cavs, Wolvs and Wizards after that. Thats possibly a 11 game losing streak. HERE WE COME DURANT/ ODEN!!!! WOOOOO

Went to the Celtics game tonight, saw Ray Allen play in person. That was a treat, dude is so smooth when he plays.

Gerald Green dunked it on Rashad Lewis (he had a nice game though) on a fast break. Big Al Jefferson tore it up again, 31 points 16 rebounds..dude is a beast. Now only if the rest of the young guys they got could start panning out they'd be alright

The brilliant thing is now that Colts have won the title. This is the perfect season for the Pacers to tank. Give me THREE brawls! Not ONE! No one will care. Theres not a whole lot of people that are watching the Pacers now. They've been horrible for 3 years. This is the perfect season to tank it. Tank it while noones looking and them come back next year with Oden or Durant or hell how about Noah or one of these other blue chip players in the draft this year.

TANK TANK TANK.

We're still in the 7th seed despite a 7 game losing streak. We're 11 games back of Boston for the worst record in the East.

Heres a question. Whats harder? Making the playoffs in the West or not making the playoffs in the East?

RP

lol the Eastern conference sucks so bad in the NBA, they need to eliminate some teams or something (never going to happen since they make $$) but the talent level is so watered down you get a few really good teams and the rest of the teams suck

RP
03-10-2007, 05:58 AM
Indiana might loose 12 games in a row and still be in the playoffs. Nevermind the fact that we have no shot at getting out of the first round at all. I've never realized how great it is to have either a really bad team or a really good team. The worst is having a really bad team with no shot thats good enough to make the playoffs.

TPWW could have an NBA team with Krispy Wadding and me as the front line and Cooler Tom Schueler as our swing man and Funky Fly as our PG and moody depressed suicidal Triple A as our coach and we'd still make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

If we dont choke vs Philadelphia and manage to just be outscored by Atlanta, we could possibly end the month of March with a 17 game losing streak. ITS POSSIBLE!!!

That could set us up good for the home stretch and keep us in the Oden/Durant hunt.

The Pacers and the Timberwolves are the same team. Both have a big man who is worthless without another superstar, both teams have been slowly declining for the past three years, and neither team is bad enough to get a good draft pick.

Wolves had a small chance this year, but if they made the playoffs they wouldn't have had a draft pick. YES, when Kevin McHale traded Sam Cassell for Marko Jaric, he also threw in a conditional draft pick. If the Wolves aren't in the lottery, they have no draft pick. Dumbass. He also traded a first rounder for Ricky Davis.

RP
03-10-2007, 07:04 AM
Yah, i agree its pretty much the same team, but let me say this. I like Ricky Davis. I know its odd, but everytime he's played us, he's killed us. Never mind the fact that i always confuse him with Young Buck from G-Unit.

HAHAHAHA 8 in a row. Indiana really raised the bar in losing tonight. They didnt like there chances losing against Philly despite not having O'neil and Daniels, so to make sure they lost, Tinsley got himself suspended. If he hadnt, we might have won that game. Way to step it up Jamaal.

Now we have Cleveland, Minnesotta and Washington for our next 3. We should lose all of them, but i'm a little worried about the T-Wolve. Jamaal may need to take another suspension for that one.

If we finish with enough ping pong balls to give us a decent shot at the #1 pick, i honestly believe Larry Bird should be GM of the year and Carlise should be Coach of the Year. How incredibly tough it must be to get tough losses against teams like the T-Wolves or the Sixers. Those are really tough losses. But Carlisle coached those boys down enough to get them. That deserves credit. He's putting together a really good bad season.

If we lose to Atlanta, with Houston, San Antonio and Miami being the next 3 games after that, book it. Losing to Atlanta might be the truest test we have for the rest of the year. If we can pull that off. It could happen.

I was going to ignore it. I was going to come online in the morning and just say nice win by the Pistons tonight.

But I can't. The Suns beat Dallas on Wednesday and Detroit beats Phoenix tonight. The Suns needed OT. Detroit won by 22. Do not blame the Suns stars as in Amare and Nash. Blame the supporting cast.

Also, Chauncey Billups did not play the entire 2nd half because of a strained groin muscle. Maybe the Suns should learn to check the backup point guard as Flip Murray scored 13 points in the 3rd quarter. And then when they decided to double Rasheed Wallace or Webber in the post, the Pistons nailed a big 3.

The Suns have lost twice -- by a combined 46 points -- since their 129-127 double-overtime win at Dallas on Wednesday night. They lost to Detroit 105-83 Friday night, which D'Antoni blamed on emotional exhaustion.

I knew Mike Dantoni would blame it on something like that about losing to Detroit.

From Minneapolis' gossip column

A better way to play?
A reader who identified himself as David Murphyclaims that he saw members of the Pacers making it rain at a Minneapolis strip club the night before the hapless team got dunked by the Wolves.
"Monday evening several of the players from the Indiana Pacers basketball team spent a great deal of time and money at Schieks Nightclub and judging from their performance last night in the fourth quarter they might have been better served getting some rest at their hotel," wrote Murphy via e-mail.
Murphy also claimed to have seen the players "make it rain," which means they were throwing money at the strippers. No word from the Pacers, who'd lost 11 games in a row heading into the weekend, as to whether Indiana has the kind of players who'd ever go to a strip club. Instead of a dress code, shouldn't the NBA -- indeed all professional leagues -- make strip clubs off limits during playing season?

RP
03-19-2007, 12:17 PM
Thats called stepping up. You really need a loss so you have to step up your game and stay the the strip club all night. Thats great effort. What happend against Atlanta??? I dont think the strip clubs were closed. They just didnt show the initiative.

Jackson doesn't count on much offense from Brown, who battled ankle and back problems Friday night and couldn't hold on to a late-game pass from Parker that would've resulted in a dunk.
Jackson said his advice to his players when passing to Brown is first to pass toward Brown's face, because his reflexive desire to protect himself will more likely get his hands in proper position.
Either that, Jackson added, or aim below the belt.

If Doc Rivers was our coach, this would be a 14 game losing streak. NO WAY he'd win against Atlanta. If we were winning to Atlanta by i dunno.. say 18 points. Doc would suit up every white player he can find including Vern Flemming and stick those guys out there for the remainder of the 4th quarter to get that loss. Then start his press conference off by reassuring everyone he wasnt tanking the game. THATS COACH OF THE YEAR right there. FIRE CARLISLE and trade for Doc Rivers for these last 15 games.

I flipped on the TV at 6:15am today to see the sports segment of the news figuring nothing too terribly exciting happened. Shit, was I ever wrong. Sports guy starts with Pistons/Nuggets. Sets up the 98-95 Denver lead with :01.5 in the 4th, Pistons needing a miracle, as Denver has possesion on the inbound. They go to the FSN Detroit footage, where the local announcers are calling the game. Detroit needs a steal and a desperation 3 to send it into OT, so what happens? Detroit gets a steal, ball goes to Rasheed Wallace, who wildly shoots from 62"-long-3-point range with :00.2 left, AND MAKES THE SHOT! Crowd and announcers both go berserk. Then in OT, Pistons are down 106-103, and Rasheed cans another 3 to tie it, and Detroit goes on to win a nail biter, 113-109...what an exciting game that was.

This is my last post in the NBA forum indefinitely. Well for this year. Unless a miracle happens. The Lakers have been fucked over with injuries, and with no defense. They can not play defense to save their life. and Smush Parker can suck my nuts. Our starting 5 minus Kobe is quite terrible right now. Kobe must fucking hate his life right now. He is surrounded by a bunch of heartless douchebags. So, yeah. I think Kobe might be suspended for kinda punching Jaric in the mouth tonight. Whatever. This team sucks. ENJOY THE REST OF THE SEASON PEOPLE.

Wolves will get a good draft pick at least, hopefully a center or power forward who can contribute right away. There are obvious problems with the lineup and it is a shame Mike James didn't work out, but the best thing to do now is to get rid of Mike James, Ricky Davis and Troy Hudson in whatever way possible. Rashad McCants and Randy Foye are the future of this team, along with whoever the new pick is.

To clarify, the lottery system I was referencing still only gives the top three picks away. So the lowest that the worst team could pick was fourth.

I dunno, MLB doesn't need to worry about it since the draft is so hit or miss. NFL seems different too because there is always such a wealth of good players that are almost sure-fire success in the first round. The NBA is just messed though, all over the place.

To win my LVP (Least Valuable Player) Award, you need to negatively affect a team in more ways than just "my eight-figure salary is killing their cap space" or "I drove into a parked car while masturbating to a porn movie."
You need to realize zero percent of your team's expectations, even though it traded a No. 1 pick (and a chance to take Rajon Rondo or Marcus Williams) to create enough cap space for a bench player who could save its best player's legs during the season. You need to be such a ginormous bust that your coach gave up on you within three weeks. You need to be untradable even though you have a reasonable salary ($21 million, five years). You need to become the albatross for a potential championship team that's single-handedly lowering its ceiling from an "A-plus" to an "A-minus." In other words, you need to be Marcus Banks.

Weird, Stephen A Smith and Tim Legler are calling the punishment too harsh and defending Joey Crawford. While I might not always agree with their opinions they both seem to be pretty knowledgable about basketball, but I don't see how the hell you could argue against firing him. A referee/umpire/official's job in any sport is to call the game with no bias against either team or player. He clearly has a bias against one team's best player so how could anyone know for sure if he isn't picking sides in every game he officials?
