Good news for fighting game aficionados out of Capcom and MadCatz HQ today. A new shipment of the specialty controllers and arcade sticks for (and that should have come bundled (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/27/sfiv-tiger-uppercuts-pc-this-summer-may-include-mad-catz-fighti/) with) Street Fighter IV (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Street-Fighter-IV/) will be available soon. Darin from the Capcom Unity Blog (http://www.capcom-unity.com/djay/blog/2009/03/16/great_news_from_madcatz)sends word that MadCatz (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/MadCatz/) will have a few units of the popular -- but somewhat (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/16/owners-report-mad-catz-sfiv-fightstick-defects/) problematic (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/19/mad-catz-well-under-50-complaints-about-fightsticks/) -- controllers by the end of this month and the end of April.

While the number of units isn't being thrown around, Capcom (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/) says there should be enough stock to take care of most, if not all, existing orders. As for the ability to one day walk into a store and freely purchase a unit off the shelf ... let's not talk crazy, folks.

Now that's not fair. HD Remix never intended to be a new fighter on the visuals front, they just dressed up the original sprites. No way can HD Remix hold up against any new 2D fighter. It looks silly compared to the Alpha series.

So how is that not fair? An upscaled DVD is taking old tech and making it HD, which is kinda what the game did anyways.

Finally, there seems to be some light at the end of a long tunnel. Though still a rumor, new evidence is suggesting that we may see Marvel vs Capcom 2 reappearing in the future.

Hint number 1:

Marvel vs Capcom 2
Game version: TBA, DC as fallback.
Game Settings: Turbo 1, Damage 2, 2/3 Games
You may not use any glitch that prevent the game from being played. This includes game freezing, game resetting, player freezing, etc.
Deadbody infinites are allowed to gain a positional advantage, but not to delay the game.
Winner must keep same starting character, but can switch the order of assists.
Winner may not use the "Switch Glitch" to have a different starting character.
You may not use the same character twice on one team.

Originally, the game was labeled as PS3 and Dreamcast.

I lost 8-0 to Kalyx last night. I was just off the whole time as Kalyx could probably tell when I kept jumping into his attacks for some reason.

I know you were saying something between fights Kalyx but the music completely drowns you out. I only heard the most faint mumbles. Also, sorry for the bad connection. My connection has been fluctuating wildly the last few days. Some times everyone is "one bar" an hour later I'm getting excellent connections. Not just with the 360, the PC to.

Akuma is still my boy. I can't be Fei Long for the life of me and it pisses me off. I don't know if it's his flying kicks motion or lack of jumping front kick but something makes me play horribly with him.

I'm trying real bad to get good with El Fuerte. I think I need to start spamming the shit out of his run though.

Also, when Gen switches styles, does he have a complete different move set? I haven't figured that out.

Was finally able to take it to roxer today. Was even able to beat his akuma, although I had to break out my sagat to pull it off. Mad props to roxer, as I wouldn't be celebrating like this if he wasn't really good.

Strangly, I have become a fan of charge characters, who I was never very good with in the past. Always been more of a shoto-motion type guy. But my Vega, Bison, Balrog and Blanka are all pretty good, and my honda has become ridiculously tight. Havn't even touched guile or chun-li. I'll be working on them next after I improve my blanka and balrog, as they are kinda bare bones atm.

My quest to make Vega dangerous is getting along but I still have hiccups I need to iron out. Cammy's Cammy as usual. Sakura is moving up my ranks, and I'm still shamed for it.

Focus lately has been on Abel as usual, but also the previously mentioned charge characters, rose, gouken, and ken. Was learning C. Finaly played both Kalyx and Fignuts... too bad I was having such a shit day. Throws, focus attacks and special moves were not happening for me at all today.

Even if I had my act together, Kalyx would have raped me over all. His Cammy is deadly and he's quite likely the best SF player I've seen in the last 5 years.

Kalyx knows his shit and is a great technical player. he knows how to take advantage of Cammy's (apparently non-existent) recovery frames on some of her moves that would make you think twice about revesals. The best thing to do is to be patient against him and to pick your shots wisely, for he wont hesistate to capitalize on your mistakes. Its easy to frustrate him ONCE he's out of his element tho. However it wont take long for him to get back on his feet so mix it up

It's funny you mention her 'apparently non-existent' recovery frames cause you are making a shot against SRK or some community like that. They make tier-lists that are mostly accurate, but after such gems as "Ultras are gay" and "SC4's Taki's low tier", you can't take them that seriously.

I think, with all of my heart, that Cammy is the best SF character ever. Conversely, I'm thinking of dropping Ken to 'light-play' status because a) he's so boring and routine (except for his kickass Ultra) and b) people who play him online make me like him less. I don't agree that his dragonpunch, which is multihit on Fierce, should beat everything. Cammy's Cannon Spike beats a lot of shit too, but at one hit I think it's pretty fair for a girl with no fireballs. I love Cammy.

Vega's getting more play time from me as well.

Cammy's definetly on my" If You Spot Her on the Street, Murder her ass" list. She's got so many options than most other character and her EX hooligan tends to freeze me up sometimes. I gotta be always alert when im up against her. However i hardly even see cammy online and if i do its some idiot who doesnt know what hes doing.

Fuck SRK. they're a bunch of fuckin crybabies and assholes who're full of themselve( most of them if not all) They take that shit way too seriously. Remember Mr.Fun? yeah he was cool what the hell happened to him?

So your dropping Ken huh, You Should Give him more credit. I've yet to see him used effectively. Vega's also on my Special list, He's a big problem for my Ryu.

Yeah, it turns off the firewall for any devices in the DMZ. Just put it in the config of your router. For help on that, just put in your routers model and DMZ into google and it should bring up how to do it.

Finally got Gouken. Fuck. All those guides on how to get him are wrong except 1.

They're not clear on the fact that you accomplish the required tasks in the first 5 rounds (2and a half fights if you're using standard 3 round fights) in order exactly like this:

Round 1: First Attack, Perfect
Round 2: First Attack, Perfect
Round 3: First Attack, Ultra Finish
Round 4: First Attack, Ultra Finish
Round 5: First Attack, Ultra Finish
Rest of the fights: No losing rounds

I didn't do it in order, did a couple of ultras first, then the perfects, then the ultras.

Winning some, losing others but it seems like there's no real skill matching here. Like I'll blow a guy out of the water in one fight then get 12 hit ko'd the next fight.

One thing I gotta stop doing is false jumps against Cammy players. Too little recovery time. Dunno where I picked this habit up, but sometimes I jump straight up immediately after a knockdown and by the time I'm on the ground again, people are trying to knock me out of the air to find me waiting below.

My Ken is next to useless now and I think my affair with him is about over in this game. Vega is Vega, and Cammy is Cammy (though I would argue my responce time has improved with her).

K, how are you at pulling off the commands for all the moves? Might want to work on that if he's giving you problems on very easy.

Also, Seth in general is pretty simple in round 1. 99.9% of the time he will start with low fierce (the Dhalsim punch) and he's prone to spamming focus attacks. A good way to take him down is to hit him with 2 fierce attacks or fireballs, then hit him with a shoryuken since a medium or fierce one will break his focus attack and cut of his health from regenerating.

Round 2 he will start busting out the triple shoryukens, sonic booms and Vega jump kicks. Also, any time you get a super or ultra he starts spamming teleports, so don't bother trying to use it. Your best chance to get him is when he leaves himself wide open after whiffing a move.

Which begs the question: why an all-new title, and not just a range of DLC? Ono says the changes are so extensive that they couldn't just be tacked on, so a disc release was necessary. Those crying "RIP OFF" should know that the game "won't be sold at full price", and that those owning both the original and Super will are in store for an as-yet-unspecified treat.

It's due in Spring 2010 for the PS3 and 360. We'll ask what's up with the PC version.

I was hoping it wouldn't be a disc. Well, if it's not full price, has enough new and extra features to actually justify it and can use my costume DLCs, I'll consider it.

I can't help but feel that within a year of SSFIV coming out, we'll get Super Street Fighter IV Turbo which they'll expect us to wander out and pick up because of some minor adjust to the game.

Anyone want to take a guess at what we'll get for having the original SFIV and SSFIV? I'm betting it'll either be a free DLC for the new character costumes or, if we're lucky, a retro style stage.

The trailer looked cool. I wonder who the other 5 characters will be. Will we see 5 originals or a mix of originals and old faces?

I want R.Mika. She was the only female I can recall being dangerous with (Edit: Perhaps my mind is just cloudly. I was young and it was a long time ago). Cammy is cool as a character but I'm awful with her. Other than her, I'm all for brand new characters. Maybe I'd have more ideas for who I'd like to see return if I had more knowledge of the series. I only have the basic SF move/story/character knowledge as fighting games aren't my main hang out as a gamer.

I hope we get trailers for each new character. That would be pretty fun, checking out a new character in motion. I find it easier to tell who I will and wont want to try out by seeing them in action.

Also, why is the game not out until Spring 2010? The game is complete, they're just adding characters, right? It shouldn't take that long.

It'll be priced at the same price as an "update" would but just on a physical disc which, to me, means it'll be about the same price as GTA IV DLC. I think we'll get more than he mentioned as he claims they considered DLC but it wasn't "practical". I'm interested and there is a high chance I'll pick it up but I need more info before it becomes a must.

I've come across some "info" which is apparantly a leaked list of the characters being added to Super Street Fighter IV.

Shortly before the official announcement, somebody made a forum post saying there would be a new SFIV with ten added characters:

from SF2: T. Hawk, Dee Jay
from SFA: Adon, Cody, Guy
from SF3: Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto
brand new: Juri, an evil girl working for Seth... and Hakan, an Arab grappler.

The post was deleted quickly. Then Super IV with T.Hawk and Juri got confirmed. T. Hawk was obvious, but since that guy mentioned specifics about a brand new character, the rumor has been more or less treated as a leak.

I'm aware GameFAQS isn't exactly reliable but I thought it was worth posting here to see what you guys thought.
