Damn, early ass bye week for the Pats. Schedule looks pretty good though but I don't understand why it seems like the Patriots and Colts play each other every year in the regular season? Kinda seems that way with the Steelers as well, I mean understand both games are good for ratings or whatever but I didn't think they based schedules off that. Do they just have the previous years division champions play each other or something? That might be it since the Pats, Colts and Steelers have pretty much dominated their respective divisions for last 5 or so years

Looking forward to the 49ers game since my roommate is a huge 9ers fan

the division winners play eachother. The Colts have played the Pats, Steelers and Chargers for the past 3 or 4 years now. BTW the Pats might actually go 16-0 unless the Colts beat them. That schedule is rediculous.

Broncos always seem to give the Patriots trouble for some reason, plus they gotta play the Colts in Indy again (How is that decided? I think the Pats had the home game for 3 years in a row, now this is the 2 or 3rd time in a row its in Indy) Right now though yeah that schedule looks pretty easy, but you never know some of teams might be improved next year. On the flip side some of those teams that showed promise, like the Bills, could absolutely collapse 2007 New York Jets style. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Patriots win 14 games next year, as long as they pick up some secondary help this off season.

2 biggest problems i have with the Colts schedule is 1) We play the Titans on Monday night, which is one of the most brutal games of the year and then on a short week, come home and play the Patriots. 2) They put maybe the biggest game on the Colts schedule on a fucking NFL Network game. Colts at Jacksonville in week 16 will be so fucking huge and i cant even get NFL Network ( though i'll probably be drinking at a pub anyway. )

yeah, aren't the teams you play decided a few years in advance? so no one can really cry foul on the schedule, plus ya never know how teams will preform vs. last year and who improves etc... (look at the Boston Celtics..)

Also happens the AFC East outside of the Pats sucked last year, which is 6 games.

I believe 2 games a year are decided based on record from the previous year (1home, 1away) the rest are decided years in advance.

2007 and 2008 the AFC east has the AFC South, in 2009 will be the 3rd year NE goes to Indy, 04-06 Indy went to NE.

I do find back to back west coast games twice interesting... wonder if they'll just stay out there for the week. Didn't the Jets do that a few years ago?

At SF then at SD

then at Sea at Oak later in the year.

Bills playing Miami in Toronto. They should have chose a better matchup. If your showcasing in a new area, they should have rolled out the NE game. People would rather watch NE run up 50 on B Lo than BLo running 25 up on Miami.

Other than that I love the Bills Schedule. First year I own season Tix and w eGet a Monday night game!!!!!! Whooo! 2 years in a row! I am goingto be fucked up!

yeah, Faulk was caught holding it... plus would anyone really call weed a "stimulant"....

Also, if I remember the reason Faulk isn't in the NFL's drug program is because he was caught on a Friday and on Monday the NFL tested him and he passed. Now, I know nothing about how quick weed goes through you're system so no idea if it would still be in his system.

Jesus Shuttlesworth

He probably found a way to mask it or something, although I thought masking agents where banned too so I dunno. Maybe he just got lucky somehow? Or used someone else's piss?

I don't really get why they even test for weed anyways, I mean I realize its illegal but come on.

I'm curious to see what "stimulant" Cooper is getting banned for too, I haven't heard what it was. I would usually be like "yeah whatever" but you never know it could have been for something dumb.

It didn't really bother me that he was bitching and saying he wanted out and he didn't want to play for Marvin Lewis. But now that he's talking shit about Carson Palmer he really just needs to fuck off. It'd be great if Marvin actually stuck to his guns and never traded him and just let him rot until his contract ran out.

SAINTS LOOKING TO TRADE UP WITH RAMS?
Posted by Michael David Smith on April 16, 2008, 7:24 p.m.
The conventional wisdom around the NFL is that no team wants to trade into the first few picks in the draft because of the exorbitant salaries and signing bonuses that top picks receive. But one team might be looking to buck that conventional wisdom.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Saints have made informal inquiries about what it would take to acquire the Rams’ first-round pick, No. 2 overall.

The Saints currently own the 10th overall pick, and under the draft trade chart that has been used for the last two decades, the Saints would have to give up a bounty of draft picks to move from No. 10 to No. 2. But some teams are circulating a new trade chart, and on that chart, a trade of the Saints’ first- and second-round picks for the Rams’ first-round pick would appear reasonable, if possibly a little too favorable to the Saints.

If the Saints did make the trade, what would they do with the No. 2 pick? Schefter reports that New Orleans wants one of the draft’s top defensive players, likely LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey or Ohio State defensive end Vernon Gholston.

If the trade doesn’t go through, the Rams could take Dorsey, Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long or possibly pull a surprise and select Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.

I'd hate this cause I think we could get an impact player with our tenth pick..

:-\

RP

Whoever passes on McFadden will be pretty sorry. Colts should trade up and take him and run him and Addai out the backfield. Colts would be unstoppable.

Kris P Lettus
04-16-2008, 08:58 PM
This is seriously pissing me off..

There's plenty of awesome defensive players this year so one of the top guys will def be there at the tenth pick..

Ellis, Rivers, Gholsten, Dorsey, Long, Rodgers-Cromartie, McKelvin, Talib, etc etc etc..

One of those guys will be there at the tenth spot.. We need too much on D to trade away alot of picks just to move up when we could easily get an impact player with the picks we have..

Vernon Gholston #2?

Man, bet he read that and wet himself.

Earliest I've seen him is Jets #6 or Pats #7.

I'm willing to bet the Jets would take a package to move down, and if still there I know the Pats would.

Although, espn had a rumor that the Pats were talking to trade up and get Ellis... which makes no sense to me... now, Chris Long I could see if they think he's fast enough to play LB.

That would be my thought or Leodis McKelvin... since they signed Hobson.

But Derrick Harvey or a trade wouldn't shock me either..

I mean, let's say Matt Ryan falls to 7... think they're but be a few teams trying to jump in front of the Ravens? or just swap spots with the Ravens and pick up an extra pick?

Kris P Lettus
04-17-2008, 10:55 PM

As much as I love Shockey, I don't think he is what he used to be. He has a lot of nagging injuries that keep him from being top 5, imo. If theres any truth to the notion that him being out allowed Eli to excel then I hope Shockey gets traded.

He is better than Eric Johnson.. They were saying something about the pick being "conditional" so if he does get hurt again..

I dunno, I don't really like him too much but he has been a huge threat over the middle, isn't scared to take a hit, and is a good blocker.. Def an upgrade from who we've had.. As I said before, if he comes in like Moss did in NE, and is humble and just wants to win, I'd be fine with it..

Plus he's said how much respect he has for Payton, and vice versa, due to their history in NY.. I'm guessing this is going to happen..

Gonzo
04-19-2008, 04:16 PM
Probably a good possibility, what with the success Kevin Boss and Michael Matthews had last year when they had to step it up in his absence.

Boss can catch the ball, is developing into a hell of a blocker and is a big target for Eli. Matthews is a good blocker, and can line up at FB (which the Giants do often with motion etc.)

Alot of mock drafts have us taking that TE from USC in the second round so I see that pick being the one that does it.. With our 40th pick the Gmen will have like 3 picks between the 32nd and 60th pick..

Gonzo

I wouldn't mind if we got a second round pick for Shockey straight up, definitely could fill a void with the extra pick. If that were the scenario I would say the Giants go LB, S, WR but not necessarily in that order.

I think he'll be in the mold of a Kellen Winslow Jr, he played some wide reciever early in his college career much like Winslow (well Winslow was always listed as a TE at the U but he was just so good they had to get him on the field somehow) I could see him lining up in the slot a lot and being a real recieving threat. I wouldn't rave about his blocking skills or project a lot in that area but I think they'll be good enough to get by.

I've heard there's a couple of TEs that are at or near Davis' level that would be better bargains.

He's stated without an opportunity to go to a different team and a new contract, he wasn't going to play. I think he's a man of his word and says he's not going to play, so don't play."

I realize PFT isn't always the best source of info, but this is worth a look, at least...

If so, then...wow. I don't know how to react. :|

We were alerted last night to some eye-popping claims regarding the Marvin Harrison case made by Philly sports anchor Keith Russell during a Monday afternoon radio spot in Miami. And so we tracked down the audio, and we have given it a listen.

Appearing with Jason Jackson on WQAM, Russell said that his sources tell him that the guy who was allegedly shot in the hand after leaving Harrison’s bar last Tuesday had come to the establishment to carry out a gangland-style “hit.”

A “hit” on Harrison.

Seriously.

Russell said during the segment that the issue relates to Harrison’s father, who is (per Russell) incarcerated, and that the supposed “hit” was in retaliation for something Harrison’s father supposedly had done.

Media sources in Philadelphia tell us that the contention, which Russell apparently hasn’t made on the air in his home market, is simply not true.

Russell also said that there are “people who are willing to do whatever is necessary” to keep Harrison from facing charges.

According to the criminal complaint, the boy's mother heard her son's cries and found Scott holding the bag over the boy's head April 26. Scott is charged with felony assault in the third degree, felony domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor endangerment of a child. Scott's agent, Tom DiPiero, said Scott did not abuse the child. "Anyone who knows Darrion knows him to be a big 'teddy bear' type of guy, easygoing and never loud or abrasive," DiPiero said. "We believe this nightmare is a terrible mistake and that the child has not been abused, at least not by Darrion."

Pat Yasinskas: Who will be the impact rookies from the 2008 draft?

There will be no Adrian Peterson in this year's draft. Forget the skill position players for a second because, aside from Peterson, they take a little time to make an impact. The guys who will be forces right away will be at nonglamorous positions, but they'll be in position to succeed.

New Orleans defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis and Cincinnati linebacker Keith Rivers will be stars from the start. Part of that will be due to their own talent. But every first-round pick has plenty of talent.

What will separate Ellis and Rivers will be the situations they landed in. The Saints and Bengals still have talented rosters after subpar 2007 campaigns. Both teams are poised to bounce back, especially after adding their prized rookies. Ellis will be an immediate force in the middle of a defense that couldn't stop the run last year. He'll clog the middle and allow linebackers Jonathan Vilma and Dan Morgan to cover lots of ground and make a bunch of tackles.

Sorta like last year, I don't see there being all that much competition for spots on the Giants roster. I'm bored so I just went through and decided that, barring injuries, trades, or retirements...there are 40 players who have their spots on the 53-Man roster guaranteed (this includes Shockey and Strahan).

The QB race should be the most fun to watch. Woodson, Lorenzen, Carr, and Wright all competing for the #2 job (though not necessarily the #3 job as I think Woodson has that sealed up if he doesn't get #2, no way we'd draft him only to put him on the practice squad and risk losing him).

So I hope that out of the other three...at least two of them play really well. Then when we make our decision we can trade the extra guy to another team in need of a solid backup and get a late round 2009 draft pick out of it.

Also I would mark out if they decided to try Lorenzen at other positions. I can see him being like Michael Matthews was last year, in to block on the line some plays and an extra FB in others.

can't wait for camps this year.

For the most part the Pats have all of the most explosive offense in the nfl from last season returning.

The only offensive loss I can think of off hand is Stallworth, who was 3rd on the depth chart, Gaffney or Washington should be able to fill that role.

and Kyle Brady but Dave Thomas has looked decent and they signed Marcus Pollard (I'm assuming he's a good blocker?)

Heck the besides Gaffney/Washington the only other offensive battle will be Cassel, Guieterez and O'Connell for the backup QB role

The D has many questions..

the DL is set and solid
the LB core is getting old, but I really liked what they did in the offseason with signing Victor Hobson and drafting Mayo and Crable.

as for the DB's, I've read great stuff about Wheatley and some good stuff about Wilhite, plus Hobbs seems to get better each year.

Saftey is my biggest concern, Harrison ain't getting younger and will miss a dew due to inury, James Sanders has looked ok, but I'm not sold on him yet and after that it's really a crap shoot unless they move Meriweather back to Saftey.

I love the Ravens, but lol come on.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens are doing more than merely fighting for jobs at their first mandatory minicamp under new coach John Harbaugh.

They're fighting each other, too.

Nearly all 85 players in camp were involved in a squabble Saturday that began when offensive tackle Oniel Cousins and defensive tackle Amon Gordon threw punches after running back Allen Patrick was taken down hard on a burst up the middle. All the players surged toward the middle of the field, and it was nearly two minutes before peace was restored.

"Guys are competing, so tempers flare a little bit," Harbaugh said.

Later during practice, which was held indoors because of rain, defensive backs Corey Ivy and Frank Walker came to blows during a blocking drill.

"Don't grab me, man!" Ivy yelled.

After the players were separated, veteran cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle spoke with Walker, who signed as a free agent during the offseason after playing with Green Bay in 2007.

"Chill out, man," Rolle said. "There's too much at stake."

For the first time in a decade, the Ravens are conducting a minicamp without Brian Billick, who was fired in January after a nine-year run. There are jobs at stake and a new offense to learn under Cam Cameron, which has fueled emotions at the three-day camp that started Friday. The players aren't wearing pads, but there's plenty of hitting going on -- much of it after the whistle.

"Man, it's intense out there," tight end Todd Heap said. "Everybody's trying to learn what's going on and everybody's a little bit on edge."

In a way, that's how Harbaugh likes it. Seeing two players fight on the practice field is nothing new, but to have the rest of the team join the fray is a sight not often seen on the football field. Yet none of the coaches immediately sought to restore peace, and defensive coordinator Rex Ryan was actually laughing as he stood in the background.

Ryan is one of the few holdovers from the Billick regime. He worked with Harbaugh years ago at the University of Cincinnati, and knows that Baltimore's new head coach won't let things get too crazy.

"He's always in control. When it's not going his way, he'll get it going his way," Ryan said. "That's part of it right now. I think there are a lot of people that are anxious and uncertain. We want it to be chaos. That's what John's talked about. You look at the tempo of our offense, the way we're setting things up and the different things we're doing under Cam. It's just new. It's more pressure on everybody."

Pressure is trying to rebound from a 5-11 season, which is exactly what the Ravens are attempting to do. Throw in the uncertainty of playing for a new coach, an undetermined depth chart and the fatigue that comes from practicing twice a day, and just about anything can happen.

"You go 5-11, guess what? You'd better be intense," defensive end Trevor Pryce said. "It doesn't matter who the coach is. You have to develop a sense of urgency at 5-11. You have to earn the right to have a calm and relaxing offseason, and you can't do that at 5-11."

Pryce, however, can't condone the fighting. Not while teams like the New England Patriots and New York Giants are using their minicamps to build on successful seasons.
Baltimore Ravens

"Go ahead, wrestle each other, pull each other's facemasks, yeah, great, wonderful, have fun. Now we gotta go play the Patriots. They won 18 straight football games. The Giants won the Super Bowl. Do we really have to prove we're all men?" Pryce said. "If we can get all this out of the way now, scrapping and being undisciplined and 80 men jumping in a pile together, fine. So now we've proved I'm tough, you're tough, hooray, we're all tough. Are we a good football team? What's more important, proving you're tough or proving we're a good football team? That's how I look at it."

Pryce said he was laughing at his teammates as they piled together in the middle of the field. It wasn't funny to Cousins and Gordon, but afterward they seemed at peace with each other.

"At the end of the day, we're teammates," Cousins said.

"We settled it like men," Gordon insisted. "No hard feelings."

Harbaugh liked the show of emotion, but doesn't expect to see a similar show anytime soon.

"We had a good practice. Our guys are competitive, they like football, it's going to happen," he said. "I think as they realize the tempo of the practice is going to stay the same, it will probably happen less and less. They're a feisty bunch."

Suspects in Taylor case won't face execution

Updated: May 12, 2008, 1:04 PM EST

Prosecutors said Monday they will not seek the death penalty against four people charged with murdering Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor because the accused shooter was a minor when the crime was committed. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that people cannot be executed for crimes committed when they're under 18, and it's a well established legal principle that others involved in the same case as a minor cannot face the ultimate penalty if they are less directly responsible.
Assistant State Attorney Reid Rubin filed notice Friday that the death penalty will be waived. That means the four suspects could get a maximum of life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder after a trial scheduled to begin Aug. 25.
Eric Rivera Jr., who turned 18 last month, was 17 at the time police say he shot Taylor during a botched robbery at the Pro Bowl safety's Miami-area home in November. Taylor, 24, died of massive blood loss after he was shot in the upper leg.
The Taylor family accepted prosecutor's explanation for the move, a family spokesman said.

So.................

Matt Walsh had tapes that the NFL already knew about.

the 2 "new pieces of info"

1) Walsh had a tape of a player in 2001 practicing who was on the IR

2) He scalped super bowl tickets for some players, aproximately 12 tickets total.

what crap... this is all it was?

He said there is no tape of the Rams walk through
He also said the tapes were NEVER used during the game.

ok, they broke a rule, they got punished, nothing new here...

But he also said he was supposed to turn over the Jets tape at half time of that game, but got caught before the half was over..

Even if they weren't watching them during the game, you're talking about divisional teams which you face atleast twice a year during the season and sometimes in the playoffs..

right, which you would think makes it more likely you'd change your signals....

that being said, Goodell made it clear that he already knew these tapes went back to 2000, since Belicheck has always had a different interpertation of the rule, which gives the feeling that if they thought this was a 1-time thing the penalty wouldn't have been as bad.

most teams do some form of this, and had the Patriots taped the signals from a press box it would have been within the rules.. (think the NFL might clarify that this year), heck Jimmy Johnson talked about not just having these tapes but taking the visiting teams trash incase they threw away a game plan.

They broke a rule, were caught and were penalized.

Goodell even went on to say scouting signals is in the rules and teams are aware of this and most change signals and use other techniques.

on a seperate note there is talk the Patriots may sue the Boston Herald who ran the story that the Pats taped the Rams walk-through and there was no such taping.

oh come'on... this must be a huge let down for you... be honest, you were dieing to see a tape of the Rams walkthrough...

and heck, if there was a Pats tape of the Rams walkthrough I'd want the 2001 title taken away.

They broke a rule, and paid the penalty.

I still love how "stealing signals" goodall explained wasn't against the rule, it was simply the location of their camera... which seems silly to me... so you can tape it from the press box, hire lip readers and the list goes on... I mean, you think the NFL would ban all forms of "signal stealing".

my other favorites from today.

Chris Cater who once again proves he has no clue what he's talking about... Maybe he has it out for Belicheck over the old Tom Jackson thing... but at least listen and know what you're talking about.

My other favorite was the NY Reporter trying to get Goodall to say the NFL caugh the Pats and the Jets had nothing to do with it, instead Goodall said the NFL caught the guy but were tipped off by the Jets.

Specter, Spector, Specs... moving his press confrence to tomorow so he has the press cycle on this all to himself and a day to try and spin it.

on a side note: Kripsy where did you get Walsh handed a tape over at half-time? I listed to most of the press confrence and have seen many quotes and blog posts and everything I've heard/seen clearly says Walsh turned over tapes to Ernie Adams at the end of the game.

this is from a jets blog, the rest of the posts are pretty funny also.

Matt Walsh specifically said that the tapes were held onto during the course of the game, that they were only handed off after the game’s conclusion to Ernie Adams.

That's a very valid point, actually. :y:

It just bugs me that people think that the Patriots are the ONLY team -EVAR- to steal signals. There's no proof that any other teams do it (yet), but it's asinine to think that every other team DOESN'T. When Jimmy Johnson even admits that he went through opposing teams' trash to find any clues as to what they'd be calling...it's hard to imagine that every other team isn't trying for the same edge.

I don't consider the past 8 years tainted. That's a personal opinion, but to me, even if you KNOW the plays, you still have to execute...and even ruling the Patriots' taping had no advantage during the season (See: Goodell)...it's not a hard fact to admit that they're a beastly team.

The Patriots got caught, they were punished, and that should be the end of it. People will always pull the 18-1* thing out, but even so...it's starting to come off as a very feeble and pussified attempt to discredit the Patriots, and when someone attacks the Patriots (like a lot of people do locally here in Tennessee, actually), and starts with that asterik shit...It just seems like a crybaby excuse. I like the Pats, so my opinion might seem biased...I just hate seeing things drug on. I hate Chicago, but even if Chicago pulled the same thing, I'd want it done with. Again, personal opinion...It happened, they were punished...and I wish that it could be the end of it.

But that's not to say that I don't look forward to the Pats/Colts every year. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that those games are near Super Bowl calibur.

I understand your point, my question is, if the Pats had the exact same tape, taping the coaches, then the down/distance on the score board and then the play, but the video was shot from the coach's box would you feel the same way?

If the Patriots had a lip reader on the sideline who was watching the huddle to read the QB's lips to get the play, how would you feel?

I ask because both of those by NFL rules are legal, former player Fred Smerlas actually said on the Radio when he was in Buffalo they had lip readers but instead of focusing on the coaches they focused on the quaterback.

I'm not trying to justify anything, I've said all along they broke a rule and got punished, my question to you was you said it "taints the game" do you feel the rule they broke "taints the game" or the act of "stealing signals" "taints the game" because once again, "stealing signals" is legal, it's all how you do it.

but I'm not trying to justify anything, they broke a rule, got caught and paid a big penalty (would have rather seen a bigger fine or even belicheck suspended a few games then a 1st round pick, I don't think people realise how big that is).

Now, do I find it funny that people are flipping out over a rule they broke, that had they done the SAME THING from a different location would have been legal, sure.... but that doesn't change that they broke a rule and paid a price.

now back to Kripsy, is your issue that a rule was broken or stealing signals?

That being said, the committe he's on also has Ted Kennedy on it who realsed a statement basiclly saying with Iraq and Gas prices and Home forclosures they really have better things to do.

Pete Rose bet on baseball....For his team, not against it. He gambled, he never threw a game.

it's been awhile but it was widely reported that he did bet against his team and that was the big problem MLB had and why he will NEVER get in the HOF because they feel he threw games or tried to throw games to cover bets.

Probably one of the biggest days in Indianapolis ( the city ) history. If they dont get the 2012 Superbowl, i'd be floored. I'd seriously be stunned. This is as perfect of a place to hold a Superbowl and the wheather aint even a factor cause everything in downtown indianapolis is right next to eachother. THe walking would be minimal. Its gotta be a lock. ANd i'll start me a savings account to put some money away for tickets to that bad boy. I dont care what i have to pay.

Doubt we make it to an uncapped year. It's 2 years from now, something will most definatly be worked out before then.

Can they realign the divisions or something? Dallas cant play Washington in the Superbowl. I read a article by Peter King explaining what an uncapped year would mean. I cant qoute directly so you'll have to find it on SI.com, but he basically said that for the top tier teams, there are some stipulations that would keep them from going out and buying all the good teams available.

New Orleans Saints defensive end Charles Grant has been indicted on a charge of involuntary manslaughter stemming from a February altercation at a nightclub.

Grant, who was stabbed in the neck during the fracas, was charged by an Early County grand jury that also charged Laquient Macklin with felony murder and feticide in the shooting death of Korynda Reed, 23. Reed died after being taken to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, after the fight early Feb. 3.

The indictment was posted on the Web site of the Early County News on Tuesday.

District Attorney Charles M. Ferguson could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.

Sheriff's Capt. Will Caudill said at the time of the melee that there was no known connection between Grant and Reed. He said the fight started inside the club and then moved outside, and Grant was attacked after shots were fired.

Woodrow Gray was indicted on a charge of aggravated assault in the knife attack on Grant, a former University of Georgia star from nearby Colquitt.

Grant was selected by the Saints in the first round of the 2002 NFL draft. He had 2 1/2 sacks in 2007 while starting 14 games for the Saints and has 38 1/2 over his six-year career.

In addition to Grant and Macklin, and Marshae Stromer, Anthony Wilson, Jarvis Tinson, Rodreaco Gray and Woodrow Gray were charged with involuntary manslaughter for alleged participation in the fight.

Grant also received misdemeanor fighting charges.

The only reason he was indicted was becase he was invovled in the fight..

I just hope the trial doesn't happen till after the season..

He probably didn't do anything but even if he did he'll get out of it, he's an NFL defensive end. Shit Leonard Little admitted to killing someone but he's still allowed to sack the QB

Either he's gonna run back-up. Or Shanahan ain't got alot of faith in Travis Henry.

They're going to keep one or the other. They already have two promising young backs, they only really need one "veteran" in the backfield. Probably a fallback if Henry continues to miss practices and proves to be a bust again this year. I reckon they'll prolly just cut Henry straight up.

Got some tickets for the NFL game in Wembley again this year. Cost £80 per ticket and they weren't even the top priced ones! They know they can charge whatever they like for that game. The first batch of 40,000 sold out in 90 minutes this morning.

The atmosphere will be shit again I bet but oh well, Saints and Chargers. Shoud be a good game. If the field holds up this time.

Depends. If it doesn't torrential rain, that will help. And lets face it, the Dolphins being complete shit and blowing multiple chances to score/get turnovers/whatever kind of sucked the energy out of the crowd. Saints-Chargers should be way more competitive.

The thing is the crowd isn't exactly gonna be 50% Saints fans, 50% Chargers is it. It's just fans of the game, not fans of the teams. It's just people who are coming out to see the NFL game. I don't think they'll ever be able to get a great atmosphere going at one of those games. But yeah the action should be much more competitive this time. It was just so unfortunate that the game had to be played in absolute torrential rain last year, of any day.

And of course that fact that it was the Dolphins playing, and the point when the Giants were playing shit. But oh well it was still cool being there.

How were the Giants "playing shit" when they were winning their 6th game in a row. They obviously played down to the Dolphins cause they are terrible.

And the people who went to the England game had no idea what was going on or something, like they all booed at the end of the game when the Giants were kneeling down

Okay my bad, they were in good form. But on the day both teams couldn't deal with the conditions and it could have gone either way. This year it will hopefully be a dry game and will encourage a great open game.

The English fans around me in the stadium though seemed really clueless and dissinterested after the first quarter. There just seems to be not much patience for the game over here. Like, I was reading on another message board where British fans were saying "The reason the sport will never be big over here is because it's too boring. If they had no stoppages like rugby then we'd all love it."

It frustrates me so much how ignorant people are about the game over here. The way I see it is if you can't respect the game for what it is, then don't bother watching. I don't know why you bother spending all that money on tickets when you just end up bitching and moaning. I've been to a game in the US and they'll never be able to replicate the atmosphere or the occasion of a game over there, but people should atleast be grateful that we're actually getting something.
