Well it loops for 2 mins. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have it on the game, or a full CD version. But its far from awful and will do if all else fails.
It doesn't loop for two minutes.
Plus I want it for my own collection and not just for the in game thing.

I'm just saying it could be fake because how would Zombie Finlay be in the game after they only resently added that pictures of zombie superstars to the website ofwhich Finlay isn't one of them. Though since Vince has say in the RTW stories and Taker does turn Santino and Finlay into zombies, that could be the reason for it.

Not to be petty or anything, but I just downloaded it, and the track is 1:56. Don't know if its a different version, but its on the front page of the site.

Yeah that fits.
The only argument I could see that is logical is how come they got a render of DiBiase on the character select screen, but Haas, Bourne, and Crazy are just "phantom" pics?
Also we damn well better get Knox, Kozlov, Maryse, and Natalya.

Maybe the downloads aren't finished and they're adding the renders later? Just a hope really, because they've said they've added renders for CAWs, but it'd be pretty backwards to then not have them for some actual superstars...

Is the masked character the Black Scorpion?
What Would Kevin Do?

The in game picture of Bourne does look pretty legit... Plus, didn't he debut before Kozlov (if they were making Kozlov DLC)
ANywho, I've been playing the demo some more... I'm really liking it. There's little things that are great. Like Jeff Hardy has a non special whisper in the wind, that can be done by hitting square while running up the turnbuckle (it's separate from his top rope moves)
Plus, his dives to the outside have standing and laying animations. So his running suicide dive through the ropes connects with a standing opponent, but if they're down, there's actually a splash animation for it. Pretty slick.
What Would Kevin Do?
10-30-2008, 04:52 PM
Also, Hardy's springboard hurracurrana doubles as a springboard legdrop when the opponent is down. Nice.

Yeah, it's pretty fucking slick, I'm impressed with it. The springboard Rana/legdrop looks especially badass because they turn slightly in the air, so if you use it for a legdrop, it looks almost like he leaps, turns turns in mid air, and drops the leg. Plus, they don't seem to fucking warp as badly as in the other game (like where the legdrop should land on oneside, but you morph to the other side.)

GR is live from Tampa and this is what we saw.
The day started off bright and early at 8:00 am as both myself and Charles Shane went to get something to eat at the hotel restaurant for breakfast. Today we were heading out to visit the Florida Championship Wrestling training facility to check out this years WWE video game WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009. We were the very first group of people outside the WWE and it’s partners to visit the facility to take a close look at the future superstars in the industry.
The facility that FCW uses is simply state of the art. With 4 rings, it gives plenty of opportunity for the young superstars to learn their trade. The training staff at FCW consists of former WCW Cruiserweight Champion Billy Kidman, The Big Wiggle Norman Smiley, Dr Tom Pritchard, Dusty the American Dream Rhodes and FCW owner Steve Keirn who for years made a name for his self in the wrestling buisness wrestling as characters like Skinner, he has also played Doink the Clown but perhaps his biggest success was part of the Fabulous ones with Sweet Stan Lane.
At the review event attended by media from across the country and elsewhere THQ gave a brief demonstration on why they felt this years game was truly the best fighting game released for this year. With a roster of over 60 characters, a robust story mode which features in my humble opinion perhaps the best wrestling game story mode seen to date. We had another chance to talk with THQ Creative manager Bryan Williams about this years game and his experience making this years game come to life. “I really believe honestly that this is the best Smackdown game that THQ has ever released.” Its hard to argue with him from what we have seen and played of the game while at the event. Everything has been improved from top to bottom in the title. Even the loading times which has always been a issue that has plagued the series in the past. THQ Senior Creative manager Cory Ledesma remarked, “With a over 60% decrease in loading times it is a remarkable improvement over (Smackdown vs Raw) 2008.
Fans played a huge part in the development of this game. One of the huge complaints last year was the somewhat limited roster in 2008. That has been improved tremendously this year. The create a finisher and highlight reel modes were all modes that fans of the long running series have asked for in their emails and passionate message board posts.
It is also very obvious that all of the THQ team behind the game are passionate wrestling fans. “The Yukes office is like a shrine to pro wrestling. There just as big fans of wrestling as we are here at THQ.” Bryan Williams remarked.
We also had a chance to check out the official commercial for this years game. The commercial which features WWE Superstars John Cena, HHH, Kelly Kelly, Hornswoggle and Batista. Gamingring.com will have a special announcement regarding the commercial in the very near future. In the mean time, look for the commercial to debut on WWE Television this coming Monday.
Also attending the review event was WWE Superstars Johnny Swagger, Randy Orton, and the WWE Womens Champion Beth Phoenix. I had a chance to talk with Randy about this years game. “I am really impressed how well they captured my character this year. They nailed all of the little details with the way I walk and the facial animations.” Beth Phoenix who makes her WWE Smackdown vs Raw video game debut this year added “I thought it was really interesting working so closely with THQ to get my character just right. With the outfits, and my signature moves they (THQ) did an excellent job with me.”
Here is the upcoming interviews and videos we have in store for you.
Dusty The American Dream Rhodes Interview In this interview we talk with the American Dream about his son Cody Rhodes, his thoughts on having the opportunity to work with the young upcoming talent in FCW. Him creating Starcade and the Great American Bash. We also talk about what makes Texas such a great hotbed of wrestling talent.
FCW Talent demonstration featuring Kizarny, the FCW Divas and a tag team match between TJ Wilson and Harry Smith which reminded me very much of the classic British Bulldogs taking on current FCW tag team champions Joe Hennig and Sebastion Slater. Joe Hennig is the son of WWE hall of famer Curt Mr Perfect Hennig and from what I saw of this match, he is going to make it big in the WWE.
Bryan Williams Interview: In this interview we talk about what fans should expect this year from the game which character that they should use first. We also talk about his average work day and if he ever takes vacations
Randy Orton Interview: In this interview we talk about his current issues with WWE GM Mike Adamale, his new tattoos, and what is next for the blue eyed killer.
Beth Phoenix Interview: In this interview we talk about her current relationship with Santino Marella, her future aspirations as WWE Womens Champion and how she feels she ranks among the other WWE Womens Champions.
We will have all of the videos and interviews from the event, which all leads up to our official review of the game on November 9th 2008. The wait is almost over and you wont want to miss one second here at Gamingring.com Be sure to check back for more coverage as we roll down to the release of WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009.

Don't pretend to think you know Edge. You didn't grow up with the Rated-R Superstar and his single-parent mother in some cramped apartment in Orangeville (a tiny Ontario town that Edge recalls offered residents two choices: "work in a factory in town, or if you're really lucky, land a job in Toronto"). You likely identified with his classmates at Princess Elizabeth Public School, carrying a hockey stick and aspiring to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Edge, meanwhile, dreamed of rocking out on a Les Paul guitar and following in the platformed footsteps of KISS. (He didn't, but it hasn't stopped him from amassing an impressive collection of signed, custom-made guitars over the years.)
If you really knew Edge, you would have noticed the "black cloud" that hung over the eight-year-old boy after a car accident claimed the life of his most-admired uncle. You would have also seen that cloud give way to the yellow and red-clad form of Hulk Hogan, whose mantra of saying prayers and taking vitamins spoke directly to Edge from the TV. Perhaps then you would have sat eleventh-row ringside with him in Toronto's SkyDome; it was there he watched Hogan face Ultimate Warrior in the "Ultimate Challenge" at WrestleMania VI, and vowed he would also headline a WrestleMania someday.
Edge's pals at Don Bosco Secondary High knew he was destined for greatness, even writing in his yearbook "Most Likely to Win the WWE World Championship." Yet they couldn't predict he'd receive free wrestling training after winning an essay contest in the Toronto Star. Only his trainers, Sweet Daddy Siki and Ron Hutchison, and those training with him in Sully's Gym, could truly appreciate juggling multiple odd-jobs while wrestling on the independent circuit. But unless they were riding shotgun, they couldn't begin to comprehend Edge's "winter death tours" across frozen north Canadian lakes, or eating only canned tuna for days at a stretch, simply to wrestle in poorly attended venues.
Much due-paying and a recommendation from fellow Canadian Bret "Hit Man" Hart ultimately helped Edge make his WWE debut in June 1998, though few believed he would last. So he made his opponents believe, even if it meant taking chairs to the head, falling off ladders and crashing through tables. He's suffered a torn ACL, ruptured labra, a broken neck, a fractured skull, metal rods in his teeth and countless stitches over the years, but not without giving as good as he's received. Ask any man-or woman-who has gone toe-to-toe with him; they'll tell you why he's called the Rated-R Superstar.

Jimmy Wang Yang is not your stereotypical Asian. In fact, if you think he is, you might get a heapin' helpin' of southern hostility. Since SmackDown fans first saw the cowboy-hat wearing Yang, they've gotten an education on the ignorance of assumptions regarding his lifestyle. Why is he supposed to know where the nearest Chinese restaurant is, after all?
All it takes is 30 seconds with Jimmy Wang Yang to be convinced that this guy is 100 percent certified redneck. The SmackDown roster should use some time to brush up on their political correctness because if any Yankees slip up, Jimmy Wang Yang is sure to culture them with a good, ol' fashioned country-style whippin'.
Knowing a thing or two about how looks can stereotype you has perhaps led Yang to another pigeonholed prospect - Shannon Moore. The two may be about as polarly opposite as you can get, but "The Redneck & The Reject" have proven that in the ring, they're one heck of a duo. Source: WWE.com

My theory on DLC wrestlers and such...
I reckon we'll get a pack with alternate outfits which THE Brian Kendrick would hopefully be a part of.
Then if we get more wrestlers we would probably get Kozlov at least. Guys like Primo and R-Truth, I think they debuted just a bit too late to even be included this year. Unless they are REALLY on the ball and are getting these guys scanned.
We probably won't see guys who hardly get TV time like D'lo, Deuce, Estrada, etc.
People like Burchill, Lea, Funaki, Striker, etc. have an outside chance.
If anything I could see the DLC consist of...
DiBiase
Bourne
Super Crazy
Haas
Kozlov
Maryse
Natalya
Knox
Noble
If they want to get more guys in I'm sure they can throw us Kenny Dykstra and Gregory Helms and just reuse the same scan and everything from last year.
I doubt we will get new match types just because I don't think they will want to give us TOO much and not give us a reason to pick up '10.
Evil Vito
10-30-2008, 08:12 PM
<font color=goldenrod>Yeah. I also wouldn't be surprised if some DLC people are guys no longer in the company. In the past, audio files were found with commentary for people who weren't in the game...but their models were removed to save disc space, so usually some wrestlers are cut out at the last second.
However, now with DLC they can probably just bring up those models of people they may have scanned but ultimately didn't put in (Moore, DnD, Colin Delaney, etc.). It'd just serve as a cheap excuse to get some more wrestlers in there even if they aren't all with the company anymore.</font>
Evil Vito
10-30-2008, 08:15 PM
<font color=goldenrod>Also, I'm intrigued by WCW being a brand. I had heard whispers of an unannounced "classic" arena being in...maybe Nitro?</font>

It's for Michelle McCool. :shifty:
So, with the DLC, where does that leave us for next year's installment?
Do you think we'll only get a handful of DL wrestlers? Or do you think they'll be updating us for the next say 8 months? If so, what incentive does that give us to buy a new game?
Personally, I wouldn't mind if they left it for 2 years before introducing a new game with improved graphics/match types/AI/etc and just updated 09 for the forseeable future.

Gimmicks change, new match types, new tweaks on gameplay, etc. People will still buy next year's game.
Plus all of the main wrestlers will always be there assuming they don't get fired tomorrow. I hardly doubt that the majority of people who buy the games won't buy it next year because London and Kendrick are finally in this year's game.
And they won't abandon the series for a year, that would be fucking stupid on their part considering how much money this series makes THQ.

Its funny you mention that because the same question is being asked about the madden franchise. With all the new updates and everything they are able to do to it now there is talk of all the major sports games just being released every other year for graphic updates...
Gimmicks change, new match types, new tweaks on gameplay, etc. People will still buy next year's game.
But they can update gimmicks with DLC. As most expect them to do with Kendrick. How often do they add match types anyway? We've had a twist on Buried Alive and now an Inferno Match in, what, the last 4 or 5 years? The latter of which has been used 4 times on TV.

Well they ain't giving DLC for free are they? They'll probably make a fair amount out of DLC, especially if it's quality they're providing.
End of the day, there are people that won't buy the game every year as they see the game making little progress year on year - or in last years' case taking backwards steps.

But why would THQ take one of their most profitable game franchises and NOT release it one year just because of DLC? Not everything they want to update can be solved with DLC.
Like I said, gameplay tweaks such as this years revamp of the tag team matches would not be a DLC. A few reasons like that alone, they are not going to stop making full fledged retail games.
As a company, what sounds better...bringing out a $60 game every year with possible $20 or so worth of DLC or putting out one $60 gsmr every 2 years with say...$60 of DLC?
Keep in mind not everyone has their 360's, PS3's, and Wii's connected to the internet so those people would not be able to buy the DLC, which would cost THQ more money.
If sales on the games actually suffer a great deal, then THQ would consider it but while it is still selling they have no reason to skip a year. They've been producing WWE games for how many years straight? Yeah I've lost count. It sells. Which is the same reason why the Madden series isn't going to be skipping a year any time soon.
It's not as if the gameplay comes on leaps and bounds every year. Yeah we have a new tag dynamic this year. Two years ago we had the Ultimate Control moves. What did we get inbetween?
I don't for a second think that THQ will skip a year, of course they won't and for the reasons you have put forward.
I just think it could be interestung if they were to do so. I mean they pretty much start the next game off the back of th ecurrent release. Surely the game would be further improved with 2 years worth of development time (although there would likely be even more problems with rosters, gimmicks, costumes being kept up to date).

<font color=goldenrod>I can see them doing DLC updates until as late as next year's WM (no new match DLCs tho). I think we might actually get a large amount of DLC attires and wrestlers, maybe even people we didn't expect. I mean look at Rock Band...no matter how shitty some songs they release on DLC are, some people just absolutely have to have them all.
Admittedly, I have no idea how much effort goes into making the models outside of the scanning...but if it's somewhat quick I could even see them even releasing jobbers or people whose models were made but wound up not making the cut, because surely there will be people who would buy them.</font>

I don't usually get DLC for games. The only exceptions were the free tracks on GH3 and the character packs on Marvel. But I can honestly say I'll probably get most of, if not all, the DLC for this game.
Most of my time on the xbox is spent on Smackdown, with the exception of last years game.

Here's what I'm thinking the DLC price breakdown will be. This is just based off of other DLC that is out there.
New wrestler pack of 4 = 1200 MSP
Individual new wrestlers = 350 MSP
Alt. Attire pack of 4 = 400 MSP
Individual alt. attires = 100 MSP
Give or take 20 MSP on all of them, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it broken down like that.

Would you call that a leap and bound movement?
Lord-Of-Darkness

Would you call that a leap and bound movement?
A 'leap and bound' movement that gave us a fairly cool concept on submission for about 10 moves, but made every other submission move useless.

10-31-2008, 10:27 AM
Would you call that a leap and bound movement?
It was their 'new and improved' hyped gameplay last year along with the abilities aspect, regardless if you liked it. That was their big selling point much like what the tag team aspect is this year.
So are we saying that we're happy to accept a game per year providing it has new gameplay aspects even if said aspects are poorly executed?

<font color=goldenrod>I definitely think I'm actually going to have the motivation to do a sim fed this year...especially now that WCW is confirmed. I'm really bored so I've already decided that I'm going to set my starting brands as "Brand of Origin". Basically, everyone starts on either the show they were first drafted to or if they were in another company before WWE, they go to wherever they were first:
<b>Raw</b>
Ashley
Beth Pheonix
Big Daddy V
Candice
Cody Rhodes
JBL
Jeff Hardy
JTG

Lance Cade
Maria
Matt Hardy
Mickie James
Santino Marella
Shad
Shawn Michaels
Shelton Benjamin

Trevor Murdoch

Undertaker
Victoria
<b>SmackDown!</b>
Batista
Boogeyman
Brian Kendrick

Jillian Hall
John Cena
John Morrison
Layla
Mark Henry
Melina
Michelle McCool
Miz
Mr. Kennedy
Mr. McMahon
MVP
Paul London
Randy Orton
<b>ECW</b>
Chris Jericho
CM Punk
Curt Hawkins
Kelly Kelly
Kofi Kingston
Rey Mysterio
Tazz
Tommy Dreamer
Zack Ryder
<b>WCW</b>
Big Show
Chavo Guerrero
Chuck Palumbo
Finlay
Jimmy Wang Yang
Ric Flair
Triple H
William Regal
---
Triple H on WCW is somewhat cheap, but technically he was there. :o Plus it gives WCW some much-needed star power. And if those DLC guys were legit, I'll put them all on their appropriate show.
I'll probably start with a Night of Champions PPV to determine champs and then shuffle the rosters a bit by doing matches to determine draft picks (mainly in hopes of gaining WCW and ECW some more people)</font> :o

GamingRing's Final Build Impression
Guess what we got in the mail while we were in Tampa?
I hope you enjoyed our coverage while we are in Tampa for the review event that THQ held, I absolutely had a blast seeing the future of the wrestling industry up close and personal. It is a surreal experience to see WWE hall of famer Jerry Briscoe greet you right when you get off bus for the event. It just shows you that no matter what your age is, if pro wrestling is in your blood you are hooked for life. The next couple of days Charles will be editing/uploading all of the footage we recorded from the event. Between us, we recorded over 3 hours worth of footage of the event, and interviews with the superstars. So look for that to come your way in the very near future. While at the event I had the opportunity to be interviewed by WWE.com for a feature they are doing on this years game. So look for that in the near future as well. I will say this, it is a lot easier being the interviewer than the interviewee.
I really did not get too much in the games themselves and my overall impressions of them in the last article I wrote so I figured I would do that now. Last year after the event, THQ gave us builds of all of the different builds of the games, this year however that did not happen so we were a little surprised at that. When I got back home I saw that while I was gone I received a package from THQ which contained the PS2, PS3, WII, 360 and the PSP builds of the games. I have not had the opportunity to try any of the PS2 or the PSP versions of the games just yet I plan on doing so later this evening and I will have a report on what my thoughts are then.
So that leaves us to the WII, DS, 360 and PS3 versions of the game which I did have an opportunity to play while at the event and at the last event I went to with THQ a few weeks ago.
Nintendo Wii: Lets start off with the Wii, now keep in mind this is not a full review just my over all impressions of playing the games themselves and what stood out in my mind about the games.
The Wii version while not as graphically advanced as the 360/PS3 builds definitely does a good job in that department. However, I will say this while I did have fun pulling off the taunts and entrance animations with the Wii remote and nunchuk controller I just found the controls not as responsive as I would like and after awhile I felt I was just flaying around wildly with my arms trying to get my character to do something. I don’t know it just didnt feel intuitive to me. Maybe it’s because I am not the biggest Nintendo Wii supporter on the Gamingring Staff but that is how I feel about that. I do like that finally that you will be able to play your friends online in this game and from what I hear all of the DLC will be available for the Wii as well as the 360/PS3 once it is released. So thats good for all of you millions who do own a Wii.
Nintendo DS: I actually had a lot of fun playing this game it is a completely new gameplay experience over last year. You utilize the stylus and dpad to perform moves on to you opponent that once I picked up on how to handle the controls I had a good time with it. The game features a larger roster than last year and the graphics are actually pretty impressive over last years game. I also dig the old school titantrons that are in the games for the superstars. It is very much like what they did on the N64 WWF No Mercy game with the entrances. I did not have a chance to play with the create a superstar mode or the newly redesigned season mode which I hear features a role-playing approach with you being able to interact with other superstars/entertainers and upgrade your abilities.
Sony Playstation 3: The game feature set pretty much mirrors the 360 version. I did find out that in the last interview I held with Bryan that a mistake was made and the PS3 version only utilizes 37 layers in the create a superstar mode. Graphically the game is better than last year but it is still not quite up to the level of the 360 version. Some people may actually prefer the PS3 graphics over the 360 version but from everything I have seen and played it is still not quite there yet. I will say this and I know Gamingring Co-webmaster Charles Shane will disagree with me on this one but I actually like the PS3 controller and the controls over the 360 version. Everything else though both games are identical. So regardless if you pick up the 360 or the PS3 version you are still buying the best WWE Wrestling game on the market today. I mentioned this on the podcast and the WWE.com interview that WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009 is the definitive WWE Wrestling game. It’s better than Here Come the Pain, it over shadows WWF No Mercy and it takes it’s rightful place as the best WWE wrestling game of all time.

2.On CAW is there better announcing names?
3.On the Roster Editor how many are locked?
4.Just wanna know two things....is hogan's legdrop in and his entrance???
5.Does Mr. Kennedy have the actual Mic Check as his finisher or is it just the complete shot?
Answers
1.Most of the songs are rock. Only 10 songs
2.There are more names 16 pages worth.
3.10 locked.
4.No legdrop yet but I haven't unlocked any moves yet.
His entrance is its Legend 03.

How's the online options lookin? We're getting better at getting together for gaming so we could atleast get a stable going.

11-03-2008, 12:20 AM
If someone put the planning effort into it, you could get a fed going on.
Two "Brands" - the 360 brand and the PS3 brand. I doubt anyone would have a copy for both consoles so everyone would be sorted into one of the two brands.
Depending how far you want to take it, it could be just for fun or a proper contest. Have set online rules (If online rules can be changed)
Have a scoring system. (More points for a KO than a Submisson but more points for a submision than a pinfall. DQ results in the offender losing a point or points but the winner wouldn't receive any points.)
Tally them up after however many weeks or months or matches and award the "Title" to whoever is in first place on each brand.
From then on, you can continue the points based system with the aim of getting a title shot, as in the WWE.
Thats a rough explination but you know what I'm getting at.
Kalyx triaD
11-03-2008, 12:28 AM
The thing is, we've been itching for an online fed... since an online mode was added to SvR years ago. I thought it was funny that a wrestling forum would have trouble with something like that but really...
I think it was just too early for some people, and next gen consoles weren't in everyone's hands like it is now. But the number of active players on Live and how many of us want this game should mean a good turnout (PS3 owners will be the B Show). But still, I wanna see how the online system works. Will they have a party system? Can guests come along? Is there a lobby? What matches are supported? we'll need to mess around with the mode before we decide on anything.
I'm surprised THQ hasn't released any details on the matter, being that it was an issue that many people found frustrating. I'm hoping they touched on it like they did the other features. They are on their A-Game this year and I'd love to see some overhaul done for online multiplayer.

I'm actually gonna be more conservative than that vid. Online, 5 to 8 step finishers will get old real quick. I'd just add some spice to a powerbomb or a DDT - call me old fashioned.
Lord-Of-Darkness
11-03-2008, 04:23 AM
I'm with Kalyx on that. I'll probably max out a finisher like once or twice, just to play around with it. But after that I'll be making some cool looking 'impact' finishers, that can be done out of anywhere. Stunner or RKO style.
So how many people are going to create a finisher that is just as many powerbombs in a row that they can get away with?
Only a hillbilly in Ohio would end up doing something that retarded with such a feature.

I think we're all gonna try out some wacky finisher for giggles but hopefully we'll have realistic stuff. I know; I said realistic, get over it.
I personally believe DDTs are the greatest kind of finisher. And anything with a 'kick-start' is great for mark outs. You see where I'm going here.

Ugh so the fourth week of Punk's Road to Wrestlemania story is damn near impossible to beat...spoilers below....
Tommy Dreamer has a match with Burke, Morrison is at ringside with Burke. Dreamer asks Punk to watch his back. So you're at ringside and you have to make sure Dreamer wins. HOWEVER, Morrison ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS gets Burke intentionally DQed. And the thing is, Dreamer has to win by pinfall or submission. And all Morrison has to do is get into the ring and Burke is DQed and you have to start over.
The thing is though, Morrison reverses EVERYTHING after the first couple of minutes. So unless Dreamer wins in like 30 seconds, you're fucked. Morrison starts reversing everything you throw at him to prevent him from getting involved in the match. And then after a minute of him reversing me non-stop, he jumps in the ring and the ref DQs Burke and I'm stuck doing it over again and again. :-\

I've played Chris Jericho's road to Wrestlemania so far and that was awesome. I expect the rest will be just as good.
The career mode is basically just matches, no storylines or segments or anything. You're selected what title to challenge for, then you have a certain number of points that you have to obtain which you gain from winning matches until you can finally challenge for that title. I won the US title with Edge, so I have now unlocked the ECW title path and the IC title path.

"WWE SVR 09 Patch Planned
Don't feel like playing Career over and over for attributes?
by Greg Miler
November 8, 2008 - If you ran out and picked up WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 today with dreams of creating dozens of Superstars, you might be in for a surprise. Currently, the only way to drag your created Superstars from their low-30 overall rating to something that can contend with the WWE heavyweights is to take each one of them through the game's Career Mode and spend hours earning attribute points. Needless to say, if you're looking to make 30 great Superstars, that's going to take some time.
However, THQ has just announced that a downloadable patch is in the works.
"The patch will allow fans of the leading fighting videogame franchise to give all of their created Superstars full attributes after completing the new Career Mode one time through," a statement from the company reads. "Given the overall popularity of the Create-A-Superstar feature and the fans' ongoing demand for more flexibility, this new patch will greatly enhance the player's ability to fully customize many created Superstars at the same time."
The bad news? All THQ would say about the patch's release date is that it'll be before Jan. 31, 2009. Hope you weren't in a hurry to create your biker gang/sewing circle."

I doubt many people would have 99 attributed wrestlers by Jan 31st anyways. I wonder if we can get them to get that out the ring camera fixed too.

FINALLY found out how to get the last 2 moveset unlockables
Pick wither Rey or Batista in their story, then cost the other the title match AND lose ot Miz and Morrison (making sure your partner is pinned, not you) and you get one of the move sets.
Repeat this, but the other way round and you get the other

Is there any way to get all the CAWs on all gamer profiles? I have a CAW and my brother has a CAW but because we both have our own gamer profiles with our individual CAWS saved to each one, we can't have a match with them. When it loads my game, my brother cant get his CAW and so on. Really hope I can get all CAWS on all profiles. I don't want to have to recreate ever character we both want on both profiles.

Couple of questions for those with the game?
The first one is, can you get the triple threat, fatal-4-way matches and the 6 man battle royals to be elimination matches instead of just over the top rope?
The second is the locked title beside Tommy Dreamer in the roster editor, what title is it and how do you get it?
The Destroyer
11-09-2008, 10:49 AM
The triple threat and four ways shouldn't be over the top rope at all. Battle royals can just be changed in Match Rules by turning off the appropriate setting.
As for Dreamer, all I'll say is, play career mode.

Now I'm fucking pissed.
Game Crazy doesn't have it in stock. Since it's sunday and ups isn't up, nor is the post office, they didn't get their shipment. I drove out 30 mins, and I lied to my boss to get the day off. It's sunday, which is pay and a half for e, which equals over a hundred dollars I'm fucked out of. (It's the principal of the matter) yea, I'm about to throat stab a bitch.

IGN:
7.5 Presentation
The ability to adjust the AI is awesome and the game's a breeze to get around, but the match list has the same setup as last year and a number of other recycled visuals hold it back.
7.5 Graphics
Generally, the wrestlers look great, but the blocky crowd, championship belts that hover on shoulders, and annual clipping issues aren't high points.
8.0 Sound
RTW's streamlined stories, voiceovers and commentary are actually intelligent and interesting. Outside of the match, the announcers are hit and miss, but it's great to be able to skip tracks.
7.5 Gameplay
Matches are fun, but they feel just like last year thanks to a lot of the same animations and same interactable objects. Still, Road to WrestleMania is a breath of fresh air.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
You're probably looking at around 15 hours to complete all the RTW storylines and bonus objectives. It'll take you a while to build up a Superstar in Career, but that's not necessarily a good thing.
7.9 Good OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)
Seems like an awesome storyline plus apparently you can unlock the WCW brand and title quickly in that story. Wanna set up my sim fed.
I saw no mention of WCW in Jericho's RTW (although I may have failed to meet a condition or the branches available are worlds apart).

Weird question for those who have it.
Doing career as MVP, I've beaten the shit out of Punk/Palumbo/etc, and their bodies are entirely red. Completely bloody too. But yet even when I do the submissions where you wrench with the right stick (you know, the whole lock thing), they will not tap out.
What is the deal here?

He starts in the ring. Just build up a codebreaker, hit it, lionsault, legdrop, repeat.
Oh, you have to make him bleed too.

It says in the manual that you can't make anyone submit unless your finisher or signature move is a submission also. Kind of annoying tbh.
For example, in RTW as HHH I completely tore apart Ortons legs using chop blocks, stomps, the ring post etc. He still wouldn't submit to the figure 4. And I guess thats why.

Sure I did that :?:
Actually I hadn't done that.
I don't like that you have no choice but to win most (all?) of the matches during RTW. I was just redoing Jericho's trying to find a different story branch but every time I lost I had to re-do the match.

How do you use the ring post to injure the legs?
Lord-Of-Darkness
11-09-2008, 06:31 PM
When the opponent is down facing up, drag him by the legs to a corner with no steps. This will start a 'groin pull' on the post animation, which you have to flick down on the right stick to do. Simply hold down after the groin pull and you can ram their leg into the ring post.
If you didn't know about the 'groin pull', you can also drag the opponent by the head when hes facing down to the bottom rope, to choke him with it(complete with 5 count warning from the ref)

Yeah I'm a bit confused with RTW at the moment. They said there would be lots of choice and options for different out comes. All I've seen so far as far as choices are - DX or Evolution on HHHs story, or who to interogate on Jerichos. BTW, I chose to call out Orton at the end, does it make Kennedy the masked man if you call him out? Or does it always end up Orton? and I've done all the stories except for Cena's so far.

Got this shit today. According to the manual, only people with the submission specialist ability can submit someone without their submission not being a finisher or signature move.

Having done Cena's, I don't see where choices would come there either :-\

I got the PS2 version today, and I am loving it so far. I played the hell out of it for 6 hours and have done the following:
Played through Jericho's RTW once
Made a CAW all the way through (Moves, Appearance, Entrance, Finishers)
Played one exhibition match
Started a career mode (one match through)
Created 2 Finishers
I am loving this game. It already had more playability than last year. I spent most of the first day playing with some friends in my dorm getting drunk and creating Dog The Bounty Hunter.

Finally got some time to play this and am really impressed so far. Just working my way through Jericho's RTW at the mo, its better than I thought it would be.
Need to get used to the controlls again after playing Impact but am picking them up again. Really like the addition of the signiture moves, makes it seem all the bit more realistic.

Yeah I missed that part, but still, if I'm breaking someones leg on a ring post all match and then lock in a figure 4, I expect them to tap out. Bastards.....

Especially when you think back the first god knows how many SD games, when you could start with 5 finishers or build them up. At least now its realistic and has a structure. Weak grapple > Strong grapple > Signature move > Finisher.

I don't see the point in signature moves. It's great but I have to get a finisher before storing it. I might as well hit them with the finisher instead.
