I'm gonna start a one man riot in Southern Indiana to celebrate. Flipping cars will be kinda rough. But I can make a lot of noise and set crap on fire.

Just got back from the mean streets of Boston. I had to work till 11 but a buddy of mine met me at work and we drove into the city and got to fenway at the begining of the bottom of the 9th. I have never seen so many people in my life. It was crazy. My voice is gone. I really can't believe it finally happened.

I can't wait for the parade

Amazing!

It's hard for me to do this, but, I tip my hat to the Red Sox. They played extremely inspired baseball and they DESERVED to win this. This is going to take the Yankee's-Redsox rivalry to an all new level. I can't wait to see what happen's this offseason.

City wasn't too bad this morning. Some broken bottles on the streets and...a bowl of cereal :wtf:

Plus, my professor let us out an hour early after only about 6 of us showed. We talked about the Sox for about half an hour. Thank you Red Sox!

heel turn lol

Pedro will stay with Boston, especially after they won the World Series. Epstein will do everything in his power to keep him

Parade is Saturday.

Let the offseason begin...

Already talk the Yanks are going to make an offseason run at the small-minded unit.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Yanks went after Pedro. I'd rather they went for some younger starting talent tbh.

And hats off to Boston, they deserved it.

Boston deserved to win it this year. My guess is Miracles can't happen 2 years in a row. But, I got to give them props. I hope Pedro does sign with the Yankees that'd be so cool. I mean he is a free agent now right? I gotta give it up for the man who I thought was the MVP player. David Ortiz. Man that guy is fuckin huge.

lol Pedro would never sign with the Yankees. Too much heat between them.

remember when Otis Nixon bunted the final out of the 1992 World Series right to the pitcher, Mike Timlin, causing the Blue Jays to win their first of back to back World Titles?

I sure do :love::'(

Watching PTI, they brought up an interesting point. Who do you think is more cursed? Nomar or ARod?

First ARod leaves Seattle and Texas and both teams get better the year after. Then he almost gets traded to the Red Sox and they win the title while his team chokes to them.

Nomar suffered through many years in Boston, including that Boone shot last year. He was pretty much the face of the team for many years. In addition, he was actually on this team just until the trading deadline. Then, he gets traded to, at the time, the second most cursed team in baseball in the Cubs. Now with the Red Sox winning, he is once again a member of the most cursed franchise in baseball. (though he now is a free agent technically)

I think Nomar's bad luck outweighs Arods just a little just cuz at least Arod finally made it back to the playoffs, but it is pretty close.

John la Rock
10-28-2004, 07:05 PM
so who on the Sox, other than Pedro, are free agents?

Varitek, Cabrera, Bellhorn, Mueller, Lowe...

Epstein is going to have his hands full.

All key players. hopefully they all resign with Boston or go to Toronto :shifty:

Varitek, Cabrera, Bellhorn, Mueller, Lowe...

Bellhorn? you sure? I know Reese, but I thought Bellhorn had a mult-year deal....

I'd expect Tek to be a priority, but I'll be honest, if his agent wants too much, I can see the sox letting him go and using the money for other positions/help.

and Mueller isn't, next year he is, along w/ Millar, Wake, Timlin, Damon and probably a few more I'm not thinking of.

interesting, the thing I read a few weeks ago didn't have Muellers option till after next season.

and Bellhorn I'm suprised he only had a 1yr deal.
